Very nice. ... But holy crap, $179.00 for crossing gates! I'm not cheap, I'll spend thousands on building an R/C jet but I just can't see $179 for crossing gates.
Excellent review. I just bought a pair of these yesterday for my layout. How long did it take you to install them? It looks like the drilling/measuring would probably be the most time-consuming.
Nice gates! If you would like to elongate the approch by extending wires you would simply need to cut both of the main wires and splice in additional wires of a similar gauge.
Sweet, nice gates :)! Still 179$ is ridiclous and too overpriced to me, but tht's MTH. The Wigwags and regular crossing signals on my layout took me forever to wire it to be as slow as that. They were all around $30-$70. I'm still looking for more gates for several other crossings I have to do. Do you know if they make wigwags when they made these?
@gecx6000 - Thats a catch 22 case. If the sensor is closer to the gate, if a train is approching from the other direction, the gates would not be able to opperate sucessfully with the train getting to the crossing with the gates down.
Cool. Seems like MTH is really going to be putting some pressure on the other HO manufacturers. Too bad theres not a way you can adjust the speed of the crossing.
Cool! I would buy this..... if it was less than $50, and then I don't have the room on my layout. Can I make a request? MKT SD70ACE and MoPac SD70ACE behind it (turned backwards) pulling a mixed freight. Thanks
@railfanfromiantha I just took the video and uploaded it for you....so give it a few minutes to upload and post and you can see it on my video list as the latest.

How do you fit the sensor in Marklin HO tracks with the third rail (Power Supply) ?

Does the crossing still activate if the train is on the second track because I didn't see a sensor on track 2???????
