  • @slaterythebattery they retail for £299 i think

  • in other videos they said it has a 5 way pickup switch

  • should i buy this guitar pre-owned for £100? (UK pound sterling)

  • wud this guitar sound better if i swap the stock pickups for a pair of rockfield mafias??

  • Man i remember watching this video about 2 years ago and i still cant think of where you come from!! Im from Ireland and i can definately hear a little Irish twang in their :P Did you move to Ireland from somewhere in Europe?? :)

  • @Oblivionduff

    Did indeed :)

  • Nice review, thanks!

  • @Piiloadmin

    Not Finland either :P

  • @Joey3762405 This one, by far

  • Seymour duncan EMTY + Ibanez fixed reverse + Dunlop strings = MMMMEEEEEETTTTTAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/

  • @Koopagamelouda I would take D-activators instead of SD blackouts

  • this guy is not german he's awesomese

  • @joeytar thats racist

  • @Koopagamelouda of course

  • Does this guitar stay in tune for a while?

  • Okay, so to start with, I'll be honest and say I'm pretty jealous of how you can play, as well as the guitar is pretty nice sounding/looking. Then I will move on to where I bash your horrible camera, you might want to invest in a new one if you`d like my subscription.

  • Are you using sustain from your pedal or is it the pickups?

  • Great video man !! Finally I have all the answers. Thomann.de here I am :)

  • Hey, I've got the 2010 model, with the gibraltar bridge, and it maintains the tune pretty tight, but as I'm using 0.10 strings, I'll need to regulate a little, just to get it more strong. sorry the bad english, but i think u got it.

  • fuckload > shitload :D

  • This one, Yamaha Pacifica or Squier? Opinions?

  • @nekku19

Played different models of pacifica's and squiers, and all i can say is that this guitar is far better. Some pacifica are fairly good, but don't compare to Ibanez build quality. Squiers are generally shit.

  • Thanks for the review! Trying to help a friend's husband find a new guitar and this is one of his options.

    Good playing, too!

  • nice playing, and pretty cool guitar. it appears Ibanez has done some cool stuff with their guitars since last time i checked.

i picked up a used 2006 RG370DX and while the guitar plays REALLY well, the stock pickups had problems. for one thing they hummed a crap load, and for another they didn't really sound great at all.

at guitar center the other day i played a new guitar of the same model but with a maple top and OH MY GOD has the sound improved. the tremolo has also improved a ton in feel

  • I love how this guy has a Irish accent (note: string trough body) and people are saying he's German.

Oh and im getting this guitar for Xmas.... upgrade with Blackouts, D'activators or EMGs?? opinions please.

  • @Koopagamelouda

I'm not Irish either though :P Although I lived in Ireland long enough to get the accent

  • @viscolex

i guess you're from denmark, right?

  • @Arrrioch

    nope

  • @Koopagamelouda Seymour Duncan Blackout AHB-3 Mick Thomson EMTY cannot go wrong with this pickup.

slight price difference but i'd go for those over the AHB-1 any day.

  • @joeytar oh hey tht worked out great coz since i got the guitar i put some EMTYs in ma guitar lol \m/

  • @Koopagamelouda you know what this means dont you.... you are awsome, i am awesome, im getting mine next week, will be putting an EMTY in the bridge and something nice and warm for the clean on neck

  • The Site is thomann.de but on the start site, you can choose different languages. I think the best site for buying audio hardware in germany.

  • Thank you for an excellent review!!!

  • Thank you for an excellent review!!!

  • Skwisgar! You have gained weight! =D

  • very good

how long have you been playing?

its there any major diference beetwen this one and ibanez grg121ex

  • Is the bridge comfortable?

  • would u beable to play in standard E with heavier gauged strings?

  • @mast3rprocrastinat3r i wouldnt suggest doing that. the reason you put heavier guage strings when doing tunings such as drop c and c/d standard is to keep the tension around the same as it would be if you used regular guage (9's) for e standard tuning.

  • Can this one do low tunings such as C or C#? Would it stay in tune?

  • @dimgrav

Easily, i played in C and C# with my band for a while. Just use heavier gauge strings and its rocking

  • @viscolex Cool, thanks! :)

  • awesome review, thinking of getting one of these. what do you play from seven minutes onwards? it's something i'm suddenly interested in learning :P

  • What country is this guitar made from?

  • @IWAN3259 he said indonesia

  • can somebody please help me out...i don't know wich guitar i shuld buy ART120 or RGR321EX??...any sudgestions??

  • this guitar is pretty rocking and i would definatelly choose this one if i were you !

also it would be better to replace the pickups with EMG's 81/85 either Seymour Duncan Blackouts to have an ultimate guitar experience(ofc if you got so much money for that)

  • @StringBreaker666 the cheaper one. I'd prefer the RGR, but thats only my opinion. Which do you like more?

  • thanx man !amazing ;D

  • Great review! Thanks alot

  • looks like a baritone

    it isnt thought is it?

  • Nope, its not :)

  • oki, i rly want a baritone

    lol

  • nice clean playing :) - and ok overdrive part :) nice playing all in all, and a nice guitar you have helped a lot to pick this one out

  • is this guitar good ? i will buy it tomorrow =)

it looks like its very good =)

  • Bist du deutsch?

  • The inf 3+4 are great like macbrowny94 had said (I owned one a few years ago and I never changed my guitarbrand again^^). If you need a tremolo like the RG350 had, i think it's right because you can't make much wrong with this guitar. But you should check the IBANEZ RGA32 it has active pickups which sound better in my opinion and its the same ibanez quality, great quality. Hope it helps

  • suck*

  • hey what gauge strings would suit this guitar? im currently using ernie ball super slinky for my current guitar but im gonna buy this one

  • how do you like the pickups ?

are they good for metal and high gain stuff ?

  • FYI ibanez brand pickups always fucking such, everyone i know always replaces them with dimarzios or seymour duncans.....

  • @Taud

jesus dude, you really are ignorant. their infinity pickups are pretty fucking good

  • @thisIStheARTofRUIN Yeah, im so ignorant because i said stock pickups fucking suck compared to dimarz or duncans, any guitar player knows thats true man, dont get all personal about the brands with me, you dont represent ibanez

  • @Taud and you dont represent DiMarzio or SD. it works both ways. i bet you've never even tried a mid range ibanez, in fact, i hate all of you that think if a guitar doesnt have DiMarzios or SD's, it fucking sucks.

  • @thisIStheARTofRUIN i actually use the stock..... its why i know the other ones are better, ive tried them in comparison on a friends guitar thats the same, oh so this was about you "hating all of us that think if a guitar doesnt have DiMarzios or SD's, it fucking sucks" all along eh? yeah, figures you got pretty defensive right away

  • @Taud if you've got a low end guitar with stocks, then they're bound to be rubbish. all im saying is that, for example, the stock p/ups on RG's have very little to criticize about. if you're going to reply, send me a PM, i doubt people really want arguments on their videos.

  • Well why didnt you just say they have little to criticize about? instead of getting all butthurt?

  • @Taud

erm.... thats what i said all along. look, we can all see you're a snob when it comes to music gear. dont bother replying.

  • @thisIStheARTofRUIN You're right, the INF pickups were extremely impressive

  • @Taud

yeah on hte lower end models they aren't too great but the INF 3 and INF 4 on the 350 rg models are pretty good

  • They dont seem to have the drive needed, like for me, i bought an ibanez rg cause theyre the "super strat" like a hot rod compared to a normal fender and such, so why would you want to keep the weak pickups if youre looking to play a high gain type of music....? theyre better than most stock ill agree...

  • nice t-shirt xD awsome review man thats really helped me

  • does anyone know the radius of the neck

  • awesome review :) when u said 'best guitars ever' it sounded irish lol

  • very nice review i like your style to explain the guitar 5*

  • hhahaha fuck load of sustain

  • maladiec

  • Oh nice thats the basswood isnt it? They only sell the effing mahogany one here

  • Comment removed

  • dude could you tell me if ibanez art120 is equally good??? cause i like its shape more than the classic one.... and what about the esp ec200 qm???

  • ooo lietuva

  • Your English is Awesome for a German dude ;)

    Keep Shredding.

  • im not German.....

  • where u from, im german and i know that you are not German

  • @viscolex Nice review, im hoping to get this as my new guitar soon. Also I think that guy thought you were German because you say you brought it from a website thatends in ".de" which I think means its a German site? Anyway awesome vid thanks.

  • @viscolex yeah germans are cooooooooool

  • @viscolex

    yes you are...

  • @nnkvocka

    I am what?

  • @viscolex

    you are German

  • @nnkvocka

  • Good video and nice shredding. Keep the metal alive!

  • thomann rocks :D

  • Man i loved the alter bridge at 8:05

im defo gettin this it sounds sick !

  • woo finaly another ABer

    rock on!!

  • i hear an ice cream van 7:45 ill have a 99 with crushed nuts !!

  • it`s just like MTM2 but this guitar have dots!

  • indeed they are passive....stock

ive had active emgs in mine so long i forgot : /

  • Are them pickups passive or active?

  • active

  • not active, they are passive

  • do pickups need batteries like emg?

  • they are passive :)

  • if I use 9-42 strings and tune it down half-step (Eb), will the strings buzz on the fretwire?

  • Hey ermonski - That is the exact same as me ( 9 -42/ Eb) and i don't get any string buzz.

  • oh ok thanks!

wait, out of the box, are the factory set strings 9-42 or 10-46? I used to use 10s but my hands are losing their stamina on 10s already. And how are the tuners? What's the nut made of?

forgive me i I ask too much questions, I'm planning to save up or this beauty of a guitar.

  • Out of the box, D'addario 10's (I replaced straight away with Ernie Ball 9's)...The tuners are good, not the best, but they do the job well. I'm not sure about the nut but i think it's plastic. I'd go for the guitar if i were you, It is so good and it's outstanding value for money.

  • thanks very much guys for the help! Now I'm off to the music store to try one of these guitars, and after that I'll prolly wait months until I save up for this.

    thanks again!

  • No problem mate, the months of saving will be worth it!

  • yeah, for now I'll stick with my crappy strat-copy hehe.

  • but if my excitement and money coincidentally goes in together suddenly unprepared, I might head on to the GRG121

  • Tried/played/bought it yet? :)

  • LOL just in time haha

tomorrow I'll go to a nearby Ibanez dealer to test one of these babies. Can't wait. Though it might take some time before I can buy it

  • Well I got it....It's awesome! But I have the INF1 & 2 pickups for some reason

  • because thats what it comes with ... they are EMG designed, but not made by them...

  • Obviously they're not EMG's...but the INF are normal pickups that are on Ibanez' and therefore not EMG designed....I was just curious about them

  • The ones on this guitar are EMG designed ... do they have others called infinities?

  • I found out thta the newer models now have Inf1/Inf2...Not the EMG designed ones that this guy has.

  • hmm ... would rather have the emg designed :P

  • Yer same, the INF's are pretty awful haha. But with a couple of Dimzarzios, the guitar is insane.

  • I'm thinking about getting an RGA42 instead ... looks pretty sweet with better pickups :D

  • Well from my experience with mid-range Ibanez, you can't go wrong with them. The value for money is outstanding. I actually can't wait to play a top-range ibanez.

  • Good review, getting this guitar next week

  • are you Irish or German hahaa

  • how many hours a day do you practice?

  • ehm, well i've been playing guitar for 4 years....

first 2 years i practiced a lot, like 3-4 hours a day if not more.

Then it slowly got less and less, now i barely practice at all. Ill play guitar for like 1-2 hours a week

  • i want this guitar ;)

  • Are those active or passive pickups?

  • they are passive

  • I have the same guitar! Plays freakin' awsome and has got a perfect sound (as you can hear).. I bought it for €300,- and I have to say I think it's a really great price/quality proportion!

    Thumbs up for this one!

    Greetings from Holland!

  • i have that guitar and it's SO bad, im so gonna change it

  • weird man, maybe you got one faulty model or something,

i bought myself an ESP m-1000 and i have to say, the ibanez plays pretty much the same and cost 650euro less. But i still love the esp :)

  • whaaaat??? i LOVE it! Its awesome!

  • maybe it is, not my type anyway. Actually, i think nobody should buy ibanez-guitars with that kind of price, excpecially with solid body. If i'd like to buy a good solid body guitar with the same kind of low price, i would deffinetly buy jackson js30(the solid body version).

  • i had it for 6 months, ive played for about 2 hours every day, changed strings twice, standard tuning to drop C tuning, im recording my own music with it and its still in perfect chape. The ONLY thing i can complain about is the sound of the pickups. Its kind of isolated. But thats just for perfectionists. I could recomend it to anyone ;)

  • how long have you been playing guitar?

  • just asked. Now i believe this guitar works with you very well, if it feels good, that's the only thing that matters(and if it sounds goo ofcourse). I'm just saying that there's always higher class guitars with higher price, and i think you may deserve a better one. It's just that I have played like a year now, and I have a Ibanez Mt-M2, and it's SO good. Now i can't play any guitar solos, except the rare easy ones, and I still have that professional guitar

  • yeah your right, you get what you pay for. I will try to buy a pair of Seymour duncan pickups when my economy allows me to :) If i buy a new guitar im going to watch out for a ESP. Rock on mate :)

  • im stuck between this and the rgr420ex

  • rgr321

  • what does it hav over the 420 thats better

  • no shitty edge bridge only edge pros and edge zeros are good ibanez bridges. the pickups on the 321 sound nicer and its a hell of a lot easier to set up like for lower tunings or whatever

  • thanks for the review. i was looking at gettin the rg350dx but being fairly new to guitar playing and reading some reviews the 350dx can be a bitch to re-tune to drop D and C. so think im going to keep it simple and buy the fixed bridge. nice one!

  • how come my pick ups are named IFN1 and IFN2 , im sure i have the same model cause it says it on the back of the head stock

  • You sure you don't have the MH model instead of the EX?

  • im very sure its the ex becasue it got the same paint job and it says it on the headstock.

  • Got my EX a couple of weeks ago, and actually got INF printed on the pickups as well.

  • Wierd... Because my EX has a designed by EMG pickups (i bought it from europe aswell because i'm finnish).

  • i got one of them there the best

  • i got that guitar, its amazing, the only problem is that it dnt have a wammy-bar

  • thanks, man.

  • Best review online for this guitar! Definately getting this guitar now, was this or an Epiphone sg g-400, I know which one I'm getting. Carry on playing!

  • awesome review mate, Im going to buy this guitar for sure:D

  • Do you think is black metal with RGR321EX Ibañez?

  • Wow this does sound like a great guitar, for it's price. Maybe this would be a nice second-hand. Looks cool, as well.

  • Fantastic guitar (and playing too!)

  • oh sorry. i saw that you mention in the vid what effects you use:)

  • what amp do you use? any effects or something? or it's just the guitar and the amp?

    great vid:)

  • what is your amph?

  • Thanks for a good informative review. Ibanez make some great guitars. The necks are the best for playing fast.

  • that's a fantastic guitar I Love Ibanez guitars they're the best!

you're great at guitar by the way, Keep on Rockin!!

  • Dude it has a 5 way pick up tone selector :S

  • no.... its a 3 way
