  • Compost the final shell of the pumpkin. Rebuild your soil.

  • the kid at the end of the video said it all in one word. COOL>

  • Great Information If you can't / or won't grow your own food go to someone close who grows food without all the chem's and genetic changes being done to the supply.

  • Very simple and looks great!

  • Awesome video!

Get kids to help out--for them to see the plant then later to see this food how food comes from the earth--not just from a box/bag/can. Get kids involved in the production of the meals, or in this case gathering of the groceries, and they will be SO much more likely to eat whole healthy (local, organic) food!

  • And besides, most kids love diggin' in the dirt, so it's fun too! I was really impressed with this group...one of the kids had visited his grandma's for Thanksgiving; she served corn with the meal, and the boy said 'Grandma, this doesn't taste like real corn'! He knew the difference because he knew where his food came from.

  • This video is great, thanks for the upload! If you are interested, check out my site. I posted it as a comment above. I'd love to have members like you in my forum!

  • Excellent advice! Thanks for the video and looking forward to your future productions.

  • Makes me miss my garden. BLASTED WINTER!!!!

  • I'm begging for Spring to get here. I'm longing to see things turn lush and green again.

  • I really have to get on that this year... I just moved to a new house in the city and we have a patch of dirt in the front that I need to start taking advantage of!

  • YOU ARE TOO MUCH,BABY !!

  • I'm loving this series. It's good for us disconnected city kids to remember what's important. Thank you Story Cooks!

  • Thanks SeleneSue. If you are inclined, there may be a community garden nearby...or you could start small with a potted herb plant or two on the window sill! Glad to hear you like the stories. More are in the oven :)

  • Children on the end are specially excellent. :)

  • The kids, 8rf, were so into the digging to see all the cool shapes of potatoes they could find. And there were some unusual ones. They had a blast.

  • Cool video.

  • Well, it was a hot day! :) Thanks for watching, dionysusstar. I guess you never lose that fun feeling of getting your fingers into the dirt even as you 'grow up'.
