vincent gallo is art man..it's not about movie silly industry...he used to hang out with jean michel basquiat..he played in a band with basquiat...i mean, a guy used to hang out with art royalty and geniality, you couldn's expect to make accessible hollywood kind of movies...thank god..:-)
two of the greatest...gallo and coppolla...had the opportunity to see tetro in a film festival where francis ford coppola was actualy there to explain the movie and the motivations behind it and answering questions after it...really accessible and cool for a guy of his stature to do so...
I think vincent is genial, therefore cannot be absorbed into mainstream thinking and often misunderstood.if you read his life story he is a living proof that fortune favors the audacious..
@mdilla11 well as far as I know he went from Buffalo hitchiking up to NY to pursue his dreams to be an artist and he made it..the chances to suceed seem pretty slim to part like that to another city and not to know no one there. I won't say all of his work is genial but Buffalo 66 is pretty unique and he seems to have an ability to advertise himself in a very successful manner which is genial imo. He was audacious to go to NY, and fortune favoured him.
"-ugly retard. And they call you Goon because you're ugly and retarded. And you'll always be Goon... Goon, Goon, Goon."
Words and acting by Vincent Gallo in Buffalo '66.
Directed, written and acterd by Vincent Gallo.
If ya love Gallo do a search for this "Arizona Dream (Kusturica, 1993) - Cinema sequence" in the search box above and watch the first clip - great performance and cast. Johnny Depp and Jerry Lewis in the same movie - it could/ did happen.
yea whats up with Gallo and the cig. Gallo hates cigs and people who smoke. have you ever seen him talk about it or write about it? comical. hes so extreme. must be for the character.
Hey dont make fun of Gallos films haha - thats funny - poor old Vincent - I think he is very talented - his movies just never made the mainstream - I think he likes it that way though. Buffallo 66 really made me sit up and remember to not dwell on the bad things - see the bigger picture - dont let your demons drag you down - he made me see that. So thankyou Vincent.

Geniality? don't think that's the word you're looking for... why is there someone on every vincent gallo clip saying,
"Gallo is a true artist man, doesn't make mainstream movies man..." All you culture/art people are full of it
