@treborif, It's a large van for transporting furniture. I had to google it (like most poms would have to do) to find out what it means even though I owned one for years.

Origin: mid 19th century: from pan- 'all' + tekhnikon 'piece of art', originally the name of a bazaar in London for all kinds of artistic work, later converted into a furniture warehouse. Ah ha, so there you go, the writer of this "thriller" must have been well in with the arty farty posh speaking London crowd. G'day.

Good to see that in all the confusion they all managed to keep their hair and clothes neat and tidy. Completely makes the series unrealistic and i wonder why the director couldn't see this.
