You dont need relays, i just added them for the clicking effect, and i was actually trying to make something else.... i dont know how a 556 would react but i guess it would be the same
the only thing is it might not trigger as well... but im pretty sure it will be fine, as far as compatibility 556 is 2x555 timmers in 1 dil package. good luck
there are 2 reasons the relays are present in the video, 1, i was testing some small bulbs previously, and rather than remove them i left them on for the sound, to give some sort of effect when watching the video in relation to the frequency of change over between LED1 and LED2... this circuit doesnt even require any kind of power amplification to the lights as the 555 timers produce sufficient current to power them. (: thanks for the comment.
nice effect, but using relays for led's is not good practice. Try using transistors in future where possible. If you were using a high power bulb, or motor however, a relay might be more appropriate.
Do you have a schematic for this?? or a tutorial? really love playing with relays :D

Instead of lm555 with relays couldn't you use lm556?

could you possibly send me the schematics for this circuit?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
its just a blinking LEDS that u can purchase on any electronic supplies
ar052383 4 years ago
No its 2 555 timers triggering 2 LEDS alternatly....

you'll note that when he turns them on, they are out of sync (like on Emergency Services Vehicles).
This cannot be obtained automaticly with blinker LEDs, which is why this is different.

:| whoa... cool!
as mentioned by ajh01932, could you possibly sne me this design? it's useful!
