  • Thank you, the only israel was a person and it was not in palestine.

God does not exist, nor did anyone but the protocols of the elders of zion, THE plan they have used and shown in exactness to have followed. All in their own hand.

May they all be made kosher from ear to ear !!!!!

  • and what is the minimalists extra-biblical proof for their conjectures? notice they don't have any...

  • ..is that we've discovered precisely where the revisions took place because important eclipses had to be substituted in revised timelines and thus are foot prints often back to the original chronology.Bottom line is if the historical foundation of the current timeline falls, 925 BCE will be a moot issue. Solomon did build those buildings. He just built them in the early 9th century as Finkelstein discovered. That he is a myth is only related to dating him too early, not whether he existed or not.

  • what is the proof that solomon existed?

    none

  • ...upon one thing and that is whether or not you can dismiss whether or not the Greeks added 56 fake years to their chronology influenced by the Persians. Which you can't. It will depend upon whether you can maintain the NB Period timeline, which post VAT4956 you can't either. And it depends on whether the the strict Biblical timeline can be developed independently of any secular historical timeline revisions, which it can. What has happened with recent astronomy dating research...

  • Excavations at Tel Rehov by Amihai Mazar in 2003 found Olive pits in the Shishak destruction that firmly dated the destruction to 925 BC and were found amidst pottery that matched the Gate's construction strata at Megiddo. Kind of ends the Argument don't you think? (There is a link to a summary of this article at the king solomons gate web site at the bottom)

  • danpride-Thanks. But I actually read the Bible and Radiocarbon dating and discuss this in the vid post challenging Finkelstein. Mazar's 925 BCE holdout is charming but the actual sample points to 871 BCE for the highest probable date per the new RC14 method for Shishak's invasion. 871 BCE is based on a large cereal sample found. Mazar's position on that sample was that 925 was close enough to the upper range (918) to justify 925 BCE are credible. Problem is all this will completely depend upon

  • Note that the Greeks revised the timeline by 56 years and that led to misdating the Assyrian eponym eclipse to 763BCE. This eclipse actually took place in 709BCE where it has more standard dating (i.e. yr begins AFTER equinox in 709 vs 871). When that happens Shishak's invasion occurs in 871 consistent with RC14 dating and archaeology which dates Solomoic gates to "early 9th century" per I. Finkelstein.Archaeology does not contradict the BIBLE history but GREEK history. When will they catch up?

  • First off Israel didn't have a glorious kingdom in the 13th century BC--not until the 10th-9th centuries BC did their Kingdom begin to take off.

Secondly, Egypt's political dominance over Canaan began to dwindle after the battle of Kadesh. It was at this time Israel began to emerge as a political coalition in the central hill country of Canaan. Under a weakened Egypt, other nations such as Phoenicia and Aram also emerged.

  • jstrouse-RC14 dating from Rehov dates Shishak's invasion to 871BC not 925BCE! Strict Biblical dating also dates Shishak's invasion in 871BCE, and per Kathleen Kenyon who dates the fall of Jericho by Joshua to 1350-1325 BCE would also date Shishak's invasion in 871BCE (875-850BCE). So it's not the BIBLE or archaeology that is incorrect, but the revised Greek chronology who added 56 fake years to Greek history which distorts all pre-Babylonian dating by 54 years when eclipse is misdated to 763BCE.

  • The truth is somewhere in the middle--Between the maximalists and minimalists.

No the Bible was not composed in Greece. It was written by Hebrew scribes in Iron age Israel, and Judah.

  • Which is why they talked about Canaan as the seat of their glorious kingdom in the 13th century BCE when it was a part of the Egyptian Empire. Did they just forget?

  • the bible was probably written in the babylonian exile ...
