Does the Compact Version 809c have the same trigger rest and features as the full size big sister? I have a Kel Tec P-11 that I can't hit beans with and wish I would have gotten a "De-Cocking" Exposed hammer like this weapon has. Probably going to trade in my Kel Tec for this weapon, I love Hammer Autos. Any issues with the smaller version, I have 2 Taurus Revolvers and love them to death, but no experience with their Autos.
AWSOME!!!! I'm getting my NYC permit and this Taurus is in my top 3 options for my first firearm. The others are FNH FNX-9 and M&P9. Does the taurus PT809 have removable or servicable slide/frame rails like the FNX and M&P? Or are the slide/frame rails embedded in the frame like Glock pistols? This will be a deciding factor for me. Weighing the ability to service the rails over time (FNX-9) versus a sweet out the box trigger as with the Taurus. Thanks for your feed back.
@DUNGOTTA I would like to know how the durability is on these. I am thinking about one for my next full-size pistol. A lifetime warrantee is great, but if it goes down when you need it, what good is a warrantee if ure dead?
ei.. ive been reading all the post.. can someone give some comments on the new 800 series... also to the 24/7 series.. i really like to read some new post, comments, suggestions, and reaction...
photos and videos are really much appreciated.. thanks and more power
just bought my pt840 yesterday. have fired 100round of fmj magtech no problem what so ever. Now i'm looking for extra magazines, belt type magazine holster, and holster for the pt840. can't seem to find these items even on the internet. Can you help me MadOgre. By the way i'm from the Philippines
hi madOgre I'm lookin for a great gun. i saw how the pt 845 n fnp 45 look, I held the 845 b4, love it. I'm also into the glock 20 love it too. can u please please please help me !!!!!
It looks alot more slim that model ive held one at the gunshop but i forgot i was too excited to see it i been looking into buying this model its kinda new too huh
i,ve decided to buy one soon... 800 series taurus pt840 .40 caliber pistol. i think its a good gun for competition. can i ask, how much is the taurus 840 pistol???
I recently bought one of these weapons and decided to use it to qualify for the State of Texas with, for my CHL. I found it to be so accurate, that I had to consciously put one round outside the 5 point ring to avoid a perfect score; our instructors had advised us to not qualify with a perfect score to avoid it from possibly being used against us in court after a defensive shooting.
I have been qualifying with pistols for almost 25 years now and I believe I have found a new favorite.
@redneckdrifter Im too am looking into getting a pt40 im from texas too and why is it against the us court and when i do get chl can it be any of the handguns register to me?
The state of Texas will qualify you with either a revolver or a semi auto pistol; the key is that if you qualify with a revolver, that is all you will be licensed to carry. If you qualify with a semi auto pistol, you will be licensed to carry either a revolver or a semi auto.
It's not difficult at all if you have some practice under your belt. Don't rush the shot, take your time and make each shot count and you will do fine.
now over all, have you had any trigger time with the weapon because im very interested in purchasing one if not its the 24/7 oss 45.what do you recommend
I'd rather have the 840 over any of the 24/7's. The 800 series have a lot of improvements internally and better ergos externally. It's a reengineered pistol... a better pistol.
yeah...... there are folks that don't believe man walked on the moon too..... I have a lot of pistols...... I've traded my Glocks for Taurus and Smith and Wesson.. My newest carry piece is the Taurus PT 709.. Awesome.... nobody makes anything close...certainly not Kahr or Keltec. My next one is the PT 845.
What's with South American guns? Every gun from Taurus or Bersa I've seen had excellent SA triggers.
How's the double action on this? Would you compare it to a p226, Px4, ruger p95, HK USP?

Very sucks pistol...
Taurus pistols give much trouble, americans buy better weapons, Brazil is not traditional country in relation to weapons as you....
Taurus will never be better than the manufacturers that you have

FIST Holsters should have a holster out for it soon. Or go with a BLACKHAWK Nylon rig same size as the Beretta or HK USP.
As far as mag carriers, same ones that work for the Glock should work for the Taurus.

Find a range that allows you to rent guns and try them out. Looking and feeling can not match actually firing them.
