  • "ANGEL" appeared on CBS' Thursday night schedule during the 1960-'61 season, 'fuzzy'- and lasted just one season. In those days, commercial breaks were about a minute apiece, and featured at the beginning, middle and end of a program [a holdover from radio's "golden days"], representing one or- at the most- two sponsors. Today, there's almost six minutes of commercials (and promos) per half-hour, with numerous "sponsors"...and excessive "clutter"..

  • I love these old shows. Never heard of this one. The commercials are charming compared to today, and no commercial break every few minutes.

  • Hold Everything ! I discovered Something ! She's alive ! It's the wrong Person . It's a mix up Annie Did not star in all those Movies . I'm sure of it !

  • Are you sure ? I'm so sad , I love her from the Tv show called Angel from 1960 , That is such a funny show the Characters were so good on the show also . All these years I wondered if she is still alive , And now I hear she just died ? I'm just so shocked about this , Thank you sir for Telling me . now i know , Do you Know How she died ? And how old she was ?

  • It's actually quite charming if you can get into it. Reminds me so much of Lucy in the production sense. Even one of the wives was on the I love lucy show. Not as dynamic a couple but it does go to show you that Oppenhiemer was the "brains behind the I love lucy show" at times Elliot Daniels backround music and exit trax seem identical to Lucy. I love everything old so I dig it and will watch some more. what year was this produced?? Thx for posting :)

  • This show just doesn't work for me. To begin with, I don't feel any real honest chemistry between Angel and her husband. Annie Farge's dialect and hard accent is hard to sometimes understand plus she comes off as a woman who is confused, helpless and emotional. She just isn't endearing in this pilot. Plus there is absolutely no back story to appreciate how this couple even came to be. Nothing works in this pilot to establish the series or makes me like any of the characters.

  • Does Anyone Know if Annie Farge is still Alive ? I really like The Angel show she was in. Her and Marshall Thompson made a great couple like Lucy And Desi . A great funny show But only ran for about a year . A big fan !

  • @spazzcat03 --The IMDB shows that she died just recently on 3/4/2011.

  • General Foods [Post] was the primary sponsor of the series (as well as "THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW"), with S.C. Johnson {Johnson's Wax}, the makers of "Pledge", as their "alternate sponsor"; both had the right to flash their logo and/or products in a corner of the closing credits. Eliot Daniel also wrote the original "I LOVE LUCY" theme as well.

  • The humor is clever, clean and fun. Love the mid-century decor and clothes, too.

  • @Toyuki1 i agree
