  • how would hail help to kill a tornado? is that true? why would that be? (actually interested)

  • @CaptnHampton22 The strong rotation of the tornado tends to grab the downdraft (rain and hail) and wrap it around the tornado (hook echo). This can cut off the warm moist inflow and suffocate the current updraft, or tornado. thanx and Hope this helps

  • and btw did you relise this was really a f4 tornado

  • did you see there was another funnel

  • god this is one of my worst nightmares

  • im watching this while i have a tornado warning.

  • WOW you can really see the condensation vortex inside of it, (partially) at 4:40!

I really need to do this! Any kind of vortex interests me. Weather its from the inflow of a storm, or coming off a wing!

  • Incredible tornado capture! I hope to see a tornado touch down, but not that close and I wouldn't want people to get hurt (Unfortunately, as I'm sure you know it doesn't often turn out that way).

    WAYTOCLOSETOB C E AWecWarn

  • Well said!

    Rock on

  • Very nice video dude...but you repeat everything twice. I was on this thing from it's inception. I too am amazed that it didn't rate a EF-3 rating for part of it's life.

  • i dont know what your talking about, i dont know what your talking about

  • EF2? It seems I overestimated this tornado. I had guessed EF3.

  • EF ratings are damage ratings. If a tornado with 250 mph winds only grazes a house and knocks down a fence and some shingles, it gets an EF-0

  • I realize that. But I saw pictures of the damage and overestimated it based on that.

  • @honkytonkblood I thought EF stood for the wind speed, the higher the wind speed the higher the EF is

  • @xxDEATHKILLERxx

Yes, a tornado with a higher wind speed will usually by rated higher. But those winds are estimated from damage. Direct wind measurements are not incorporated. In fact one wind measurement recorded winds at the low end of EF3 in this tornado, but it was still rated EF2.

  • @honkytonkblood yup seen a mile wide one hit absolutely nothing but fields.

  • Nice , Bro

  • Thanks for bringing this video to all of us to see how these things are. What a site, hope no one got hurt. I''ve never seen anything like this in my lifetime!

  • GREAT JOB Hahnkypoo! Call me next time I'll go I'll go!

  • Incredible tornado... great video...thanks

  • I also survived the 1980 Grand Island tornados, there were seven of them ,I believe, all coming from different directions!!! My town didn't dodge the bullet that time, five deaths, and horrible distruction!!! First time I'd ever heard that frightning train sound effect.

  • I was in my basement when this was happening and didn't see anything,so thanks for the video!!!

  • That's gotta be a horribly, scary feeling! Glad to hear you dodged this bullet. Could have gotten bad. I shot 2 more tornadoes prior to this... posting soon. thanks THE101! Glad you and your town survived.

  • Great video dude! Wish I had been there.

  • This is the same tornado that they kept showing the footage of on the Weather Channel. I believe the car in front of the pack as you approach the business with the flashers and blinkers is the one taking the video that has been seen everywhere else. He was just a bit TOO close.

  • amazing. lol the tornado warning goes off and your like i kno theres a tornado. amazing video glad i subscribed
