The media are deliberately excluding black women from society. This is a simple case of divide and conquer . Don't believe me?...watch the adverts and soaps etc and you'll notice that whenever you see a black man, 9/10 his partner will be white and when they do need a black woman to play a part she will almost certainly be mixed race....see for yourself!
There are fair points raised here about the individual creators of the advert. You can't really say that one advert is racist, or that one company is racist.
However, very much the same pattern appears all over the media, especially in advertising, to the point where all you see are the same archetypes rolled out over and again. I put it to you, JudgesEye, that it is not Dulux that is racist, nor even the company who made the advert, but that there is a more widespread problem in the media.

I don't understand the racism here. I would not so much assume the "mainstream opinion" that the black man is the oversexed animal (considering I've never seen a black man in a suit described like that), but rather that the black man is chosen over the white man because of increased popularity through media influence. rap music has become the new pop music, and thus we see more interracial couples due to this (GOOD) but while blacks have increased in popularity it comes with a price.
The price is that rap music often portrays blacks in a "street thug" way, and is unfortunately idolized by the black community and teenagers of all colors. A majority of the lyrics are based off of ignorance learned from the community around them. The lyrics tell the listeners to work hard at dealing drugs and pimping women rather than at an education. If we idolize ignorance, then the portrayal of blacks in the "Western" media will never increase, until the ignorance is no longer idolized.
UPDATE: just saw 2 MTV commercials for BOD/AXE and they featured a handsome black man going with a white woman. They would not be advertising this if it was not popular or evident in society. Shame there are virtually never ads with white men going for black women, I guess we all have to watch Parenthood in order to see a white man black woman relationship.

First of all, Dulux was a British owned company. They are no longer in business as they were bought out in Jan 2008 By a company in the Netherlands. Around the time you posted this. I doubt the validity of this commerical since Dulux has never done commercials in the United States. Research might do you some good.

First of all, Dulux was a British owned company. They are no longer in business as they were bought out in Jan 2008 By a company in the Netherlands. Around the time you posted this. I doubt the validity of this commerical since Dulux has never done commercials in the United States. Research might do you some good.
