My God.. you people actually THINK that the "Community version" of somewhere is better than this???!! The end of America must be near!! You're all tone deaf if that's the case!
@dannythesuperfreak No, I've never even heard of it till I just saw it mentioned here. But I did see the clip from community with them singing this song.
We used to be so happy back then; things were so much simpler. What happened to the dreams we used to have? When did we become so limited in our views and so restricted? Why did we ever stop chasing our ideals? Where did they go? Does growing up mean abandoning them? If that's the case, then I don't want to grow up.
@Lindawatcher Damn straight Lindawatcher!(bravo on the username) But understand me, I'm actually in love with her. Oh yes, she was a "baby doll" allright! If she could only sing me off to death, I'd "fear no evil, for SHE is beside me. Really, what an enormous talent, what an angelic voice. You take care!
@Loejyrrab Boy you have excellant tastes in both women and music sir! I too have been in love with her - (secretly)- since he first time I actually saw her (1974). "Yummy" is my favorite adjective to describe this singing goddess! I actually married a raven-haired cutey that looks ALOT like Linda. I have never told her or anyone that this fact was one of the main reasons for my attraction to her. Her hair is not quite as black as linda's was but close. Her voice sounds just like her!!!
@Loejyrrab Anyway, my wife is considerably taller(5 foot-six). Linda is much shorter than she appears= about 5 foot 2 inches tall. Linda's totally edible little body is perfectly proportioned when she is ideal weight, giving the appearance that she is tall(Most short women seem to have short squatty little legs) Anyway Linda was much shorter than she seemed to be.. esp. with that massive beautifull voice of hers. My wife sounds like her talking, but suprisingly cannot sing nearly as well...
@Loejyrrab I have always dreamed of what she would look like nude! Heavin would be to have her smile at me wityh those huge brown hypnotic doll eyes of hers and slowly undress into a hot little garder-belt number. Pushup wonderbra....... high-cut bikini-style mesh-crotch pantys so her neatly-trimed black pubic hair would be somewhat visible through the mesh material Y_U_M_M_Y!
@Lindawatcher Years ago in the early 90's on a radio show out of Chicago a caller called in and said that in 1983 Linda Ronstadt came to town and had a huge sell-out show. This guy claimed that he was her buss boy/roomservice guy later the second night she was in town. He was instructed to bring the tray in and set it on the table when it was ready. He said he knocked and no answer, so he went on in as instructed. He said he came out with just a towel on.. He said she looked incredible!
I'm a huge Disney expert. I can honestly say this is the most successful/ greatest hand drawn animated movie that isn't Disney. And if you think about it that's really something
In February of 88,I heard this song on the radio and I somehow knew that it was my grandfather's way of telling me he was dying. There is no connection between me,him or this song. I just think that this was his way of telling me that he was going to Heaven that night
to the memory of all the john doe jane doe and one day all will be returned to their families will know the truth all fugitives caught serial killers behind bars for now we do not lose hope NEVER greetings .-
this song makes me think of the night sitting alone in the park (well if i hear Laura branigan's self control i feel like going around the night of the city lights)
james did an amazing job with this song but I never liked the way linda sings this. she sings it very flat with no passion. wish celine, whitney, dolly parton or mariah wouldve sang this instead.
@IMKINDASHY611 I disagree, but you can hear Dolly sing along with it on the episode of "Designing Women" where Charlene had her baby, so maybe you can find it on here.
I just saw this on HBO yesterday this movie is deep when you think about it! and the song man I loved this film and song since I was a kid but now that Im older I get the whole dialogue of the song brings a tear to my eye! you dont hear songs like these anymore. The 80's and 90's were whole decades of great music and movie tunes that you dont hear today :(
I agree. I used to listen to this song with my niece, who we adopted and raised for 9 years. She had a huge, stuffed Feivel, that was her prized possession. My sister sued for custody and took her away from us. I haven't seen her for 21 years. This was OUR song. When I hear it, I always think of her and miss her and cry, hoping that she's thinking of me, too!
@excalibur1812 wow I hear you I am not close w/ my family or sister either she has two girls and I nor my mom are allowed to see them... its a long story but they love justin bieber and it makes me sad cause I think of them when I hear his songs or hear him in the press... hopfully ill get to see them more in the future :(
Lo maximo, esta cancion me hace acordar el año q comenzaria la secundaria, y un año en el cual estaba muy unido a mi abuelita Delia a quien extraño mucho...1990... gracias por subir esta hermosa cancion---
Whenever I hear this song, I think of Polly Klass as this was one of here favorite songs- Linda Ronstadt sang it at her memorial which was live on TV in the Bay Area- It was incredibly moving and so sad- I will not ever forget it. I didn't know that little girl, but I loved her- RIP Polly
@koa2341 So very very sad when we are touched by the sheer evil that exists in whatever fashion. After such an experience, we are tempted to turn inward by simply not caring anymore. I wish you well.
Now, when I mentioned the traiditional animation comment, I said that Disney cartoon movies and cartoons like this should make a BIG COMEBACK, I meant that ALL traditional animation movies or TV shows should make a BIG RETURN. @AlexFruen I guess you're right, but I don't have a further comment and I am unsure whether I'd like to see "The Princess And The Frog" either. Thank you for the comment!
@AlexFruen I liked The Princess and the Frog. The film was a modest success, not earning quite as much as the 90s Disney films. It had a good, interesting villain, nice characters, memorable morals and catchy tunes. Not to mention they greatly expanded on a story that technically should have only lasted for five minutes. Prince becomes frog, frog meets Princess, Princess kisses frog, frog becomes Prince, they marry, the end. But it was so much more than that. Same goes for Tangled.
after all this time, this song is still as moving as ever, and yes daswento1 , if this does'nt bring a tear to someones eye then that person needs to immediately check for a pulse.
@ithroroxatlilkid Linda's wearing glasses, apparently just for fun in this video. I'm not sure why she's wearing them. I don't have the real answer, but that's my only guess. If I get a chance to meet her, I will ask her.
A little chart trivia for y'all: This single climbed to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 the week ending 3/14/87, while "Jacob's Ladder" by Huey Lewis & the News was #1. The following week both gave way as "Lean on Me" by Club Nouveau and "Let's Wait Awhile" by Janet Jackson reached their peaks at #1 and #2, respectively. I love HLN, but I think "Somewhere Out There" is a much better song and was more deserving of the top sport, but oh well, at least it got as close as possible.
I'm hoping that Universal will make more "American Tail" films, but someone else will have to voice Tiger, because Dom DeLuise died a few years ago and I think that Dom DeLuise was and still is the voice of the one and only true feline friend for Fievel. Anyway, if someone will voice Tiger, I hope that the new voice of Tiger will sound JUST like Dom DeLuise. But, like I said earlier Dom was the REAL Tiger for Fievel.
Nossa...Fiquei tantos anos tentando saber quem era os cantores. Simplesmente arrepiante, conheço as músicas de James Ingram e Linda Ronstadt, mas dessa vez não consegui detectar. É de arrepiar, esta é para a história.
Dedicated to the brave "Angel of Dorado, Puerto Rico", Lorenzo Gonzalez Cacho (8 years old), who was murdered in March 9 of 2010 by a man who left him dead in a bedroom in his house for his mother, Ana Cacho, to take all the blame. The case seems to be part of a series of cases that the public can associate with the "2012 SCARE" and that the government has been covering, including the 911.
@nobodysperfect06 I know it may sound crazy but after that, I stopped letting them hurt me.... I didn't give them the power to let their words affect me... now the words didn't stop but it sure took the sting out of them, and honestly after "they" saw it didn't hurt anymore it built the confidence in me to be me...after that I gained more friends and had more relationships, because I knew who I was.... this is something that getting a girlfriend can't bring, cause it must come from inside first.
@nobodysperfect06 I went through a time of real loneliness for years, I felt like no one understood me, liked me, I was always on the outside.... I always wanted to be on the inside or at least included.... but what really helped me was to realize that no matter what "they" said, I knew who I was inside, and "they" couldn't take that from me. One night I was praying that God would show me why I was so lost feeling, I learned that God has never made a mistake... and He didn't start with me.
@nobodysperfect06 it may not feel like it now, but know that if you want someone to love you, you must first love yourself..... I went through it heck most adults went through it at one time.... just know that whoever you are there is a special person just like you waiting somewhere out there. and maybe they are feeling the same way, you just haven't met them yet. But you will.... I didn't meet the love of my life till I was in my late 20's and we were just friends...
I'm 23 and never had a girlfriend before, still single, well I have Asperger Syndrome so thats the major reason why I've never had a girlfriend, because having Asperger Syndrome hurts guys way more than it hurts girls because unfortuneately, still in this day and age, us guys majority of the time have to be the ones to make the first move and ask the girl out, initiate the date and relationship, listening to this song gives me hope and inspiration the right girl is out there for me somewhere.
Music then......was colorblind

This would be very painful if used during the TV miniseries "Roots"

I'm hoping that Universal will make more "American Tail" films, but someone else will have to voice Tiger, because Dom DeLuise died a few years ago and I think that Dom DeLuise was and still is the voice of the one and only true feline friend for Fievel. Anyway, if someone will voice Tiger, I hope that the new voice of Tiger will sound JUST like Dom DeLuise. But, like I said earlier Dom was the REAL Tiger for Fievel.

@1f5sda I don't think it's remotely possible. IMHO, Dom DeLuise's voice is like an expensive and rare vase; irreplaceable. :(

@darthvalor07 Well said!

@darthvalor07 Even though that is rare, I still hope that there is another person that has a voice similar to his.

I also enjoy Finding Nemo and that should be in my "CGI films that I like" list.
