Not that it matters but she misspoke about Ardmore being 60 miles EAST of Durant, OK. It's actually WEST but then how many people know that area, anyway!!
Parts 2, 3, 4, and 5 are on YouTube, but probably listed as private, because they don't come up in any search you do.
That's likely because, TVLEGENDS wants you to go to THEIR site.
Just click on their link in the description, & it will take you to all parts of the interview.....1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
I really, really liked this woman, and it won't be the same watching the Golden Girls anymore, for me, anyway. Three of them gone now, and they died in consecutive years - 2008, 2009 & 2010. Hurts.
miss you rue!!! you made me laugh so much and i was only a kid when you were in golden girls!!! i just bought it on dvd recently and loved it and your character!!! i loved the part you played and wil remember you for the rest of my life!!! it was so funny!!! REST IN PEACE!!! XX
When Betty White sent Rue a get well card, she allegedly wrote on the card, "I hope you die, so I can be the last Golden Girl." Sources said McClanaham understood the humor of it and enjoyed a good laugh.
Another golden girl gets taken, another loss. RIP, Rue. was so sophisticatedly funny, and I love seeing her, along with other greats like Estelle Getty and Beau Arthur. I will continued to be enticed by Rue's wonderful portrayal of Blanche and the series will never be the same without her. While I called Beau Arthur the Golden Girl, Rue was known as the 'Goddess' of the Golden Girls.. She will be hugely missed.
It's interesting hearing her say "oh no, tv wasn't a hobby when I was little." because that sounds ridiculous. But when SHE was little...televisions didn't exist. Movies yes, tvs...i don't think so at the time. I was born in '84 so I don't remember a time before The Simpsons let alone TVs, :P.
But I just think it's cool to hear someone who was born 50 years before me...talk about what they did as a child. It's so vastly different from me, who grew up with tv and video games, cds, etc.
@Jeffieboi at the time Tvs wouldve been a luxury item the average family probally couldnt afford one and had verry small sceens (10 inch) TVs didnt became common untill the 50s and they were Black and white.

I didn't know Rue had a stroke. I hope she has made a good recovery.
I also like to think that she might drop by Youtube now and then and
see how much she and her fellow cast members are appreciated.
Read your autobiography, Rue. I thought it did a good job of conveying
your warmth and humor.
