The Hmongs have accomplished way more, we have state senators, mayors, doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. The Miens have fallen behind. They can never be compared to the HMONGS, even our new years are way bigger with more attendance. Laos and Thai New Years here in states can not be compared to our Hmong new years either. Thanks for posting this video. The very clip of these pageants entering in the complete Mienh wear was absolutely beautiful, to the fullest. The final pageants were a close call and I think judges made the best decision by choosing Mouang Kouei; her Mienh was very fluent and she was right on the ball.

Mien clothing consist of Pure silver that decorate clothing that is hand embroidered by Mien women. Our embroidery and jewelry and bright red and black robes make us distinct. Keep in mind that Mien people haven't really been the USA for very long. Therefore Mien success isn't really that known.
The majority of Mien people are in their 2nd to 4th generation. To compare success in Mien to other races are kinda of pointless and silly.

Mien people are unique in our own way. And would appreciate it if, hmong people just accept that we're not the same as them.
Every culture is different and special so please don't take that away from us.

Wow..that song really touch my heart! A soothing song. And watching them reminds me of my mother when she was a young beauty pageant 1st place. I wonder if I look good in Mien costume..? Naw. In my dream.
