I am always getting killed but with the HMWP I can thwart her so it does not matter if I play as the Vanguard because now I can kill her before she gets the chance to lower my health. Another way to get lots of money is to survey the minerals side quest. I got a million credits before i did my second story quest. Also do all the side mission first to level up faster and get money. Buy the Quatermaster licenses so you can buy it from the quatermaster and pick them up in the field. Usually when you finish all the side misison before doing the fourth story quest you'll have 7-9million credits. Basically do the side mission first before the story.
You found a glitch....... thing is you don't need it. Just play the game and you will have all the items you ever need (sell them for the items that you need). After a while I just ended up breaking them down for gel. Part of the game's weakness IMHO.

@JonnyBoyGir4 Yeah. On my first playthrough I tried this out, and got the maximum credit amount too, 9,999,999 credits. Then I got rid of my other items, broke them down to very useable omni-gel, but had a lot of money to buy some awesome armor, weapons and licenses. Really helps.

But...why? In ME1 you get more money then you can handle.

Why on Earth would I possibly want more money? I can't get rid of that stuff fast enough.

I actually plowed through Insanity, couldn't be assed to do this and it was fairly difficult at times, got easier.

I never needed any money cheats. Before I got to Vermire I obtained 9999999 Credits across the line (and was still buying like crazy) and 999 omni gel. In short you don't really need money cheats, but rather how you plan things. After I picked up Liara I hit Noveria which was when started becoming money conscious. Here's the Key: Level up, level up, level up!
@narutoninetails9 yep, and it was my first 20 hrs Vanguard, second play. Often I overfill my carry so I have to sell. From this testimony, it tells you that it's not impossible to max out money & omnigel on you first play without cheats. I was LV:49 when I finished

Fact1: for those who is pursuing max gel too, leave the least of value to omnigel
Fact2:Anyone who tells you that not doing side missions (located in your journal) is okay, doesn't know what he's missing
Fact3 And this is the most important part: Anyone who tells you it's not necessary to level up is lying to you. (this allows charm/intimidate for discounts and higher sell rates in ALL stores.
Just to clarify, in case no-one's pointed this out - regarding the 20 item buy-back limit, if you accidently go over 20 items, you lose the first item(s) you sold, so for example if you sold 21 items, you lose the 1st one. If you accidently sold 22 items, you lose the 1st and 2nd etc.
If you go to the requisitions officer at the C-Sec building you can make money even faster because he allows you to "Buy Back" for even cheaper. I could be mistaken though, Either way I find it best to go to him because there are only a few select places you can buy Spectre Weapons and they are available from him when you get the achievement. So when you make enough money you can buy them quickly which is an enormous advantage, especially at low levels.
just trying to help: in 'hasse' there is a character for 'ss' called an esset and it looks like this - ß. there is no real difference between 'ss' and 'ß' other than the appearance, but i thought i'd let you know in the case you didn't already. And where abouts in the narrow land are you from, if i may ask?
Its a cool trick and all, but i really didn't have any money problems in ME1 - you just find SO MUCH shit and use so little of it...i finished the game with like 6M credits AFTER i bought the most expensive things anywhere i could find them...
in ME2 though, you are constantly poor, just run around 6 times every map to make sure that OMG i didn't miss some stupid 1500 credit hack...
the first time i played this i didn't release all the stuff i picked up ..i never equipped any new gun or armour until about a 3rd of the way through then i sold everything and had god knows how many credits but it got me the achievement "rich"

This exploit is garbage, just a waste of time. This is probably the easiest achievement in the game because it requires no effort or cheating, just play and gain levels and eventually you'll have far more than 1,000,000 credits.
I LOVE MASS EFFECT ! its an awesome game but too bad there is only like 7 missions REQUIRED do finish the game . Side missions are short and easy and mostly boring :(
and if you do every side quest you should get like 3,000,000 and once u get to level 50 u get 15000 credits for each enemy u kill and 40000 on level 60 i have 9999999 credits lolol

Honestly, you won't need to do this glitch because by the end of the game, you'll have several million credits. You only need to buy very few equipments and licenses as well and you'll have an abundance of money.

every time you get enough $ to buy an expensive weapon/armor etc. from the c-sec officer, go buy it. you will lose $ at first, but make it back very quickly. so if you save up like 80,000.....buy something from him for 80,000. sell it to the med chick for like 20,000...then buy it back from xpax for 10,000......

Thats kind of pointless. There are plenty of high value items to be found lying around everywhere. I finished my first play through with 5 million and within the first hour of my second playthrough I had maxed out money and omni-gel. Opening crates kind of became pointless lol.
there is one thing that i have noticed cause i have encountered this problem...you only get the last 20 items you sell. i did a little test and i sold 23 items cause i counted how many times i hit A than i went to expat and i counted how many times i hit A and it came out to 20. so there is a limit and i suggest selling 20 of the most expensive stuff.
You got it. I tried this after i did a whole slew of side missions---model V and up on a lot of weapons and upgrades. I ended up with million bucks--(I got the RICH achievement LOL)---but when i bought back from Expat, I was like..........
..."Here comes another half mill......wait WHAT?!?!?!"
ANd I LOST half a mill---PLUS some AWESOME upgrades and weapons i was expecting to get back.
I did this about 20 times and then realized I had no items on Liara and only armors on tali and shepard. you loose stuff. Do not sell what you may loose.
The money rewards once you have leveled are crazy and I ended my first play through with at least 3 million credits.
And I was able to buy all specter gear during the second play through very shortly after starting it just from selling high leveled junk from Eden Prime!
Useful, if not kinda pointless. It's not hard to earn a lot of money in Mass Effect. 95% of the shit you find on the ground you don't need and can sell back.

I recently tried this on the PC (bought it yesterday, not sure if it's patched).
I had roughly 35k, sold my crap and it went up to 110k (not impressive, I know).
Went to Expat and rebought my stuff, but there wasen't even half of it there and I'm not sure whats happening... Is it patched or something?

and if you do every side quest you should get like 3,000,000 and once u get to level 50 u get 15000 credits for each enemy u kill and 40000 on level 60 i have 9999999 credits lolol

i agree with bassz ... like i am only like half way through the game and just buy doing missions and and selling things you find, i have like hundreds of thousands and i havnt used any glitchs at all :S once you start getting a hang of the game making money is easy as shit

Honestly, you won't need to do this glitch because by the end of the game, you'll have several million credits. You only need to buy very few equipments and licenses as well and you'll have an abundance of money.

.....then you can sell it back to the med chick for 20,000. Making 10,000 of just that item. do this untill yove bought all the expensive items from the c-sec officer, and after awhile, you will b making like +300,000 creds per round trip from med chick to xpax. you lose $ at first but you basically "investing" in better stuff and thus start making HUGE amounts of cash after a few trips ;-)

every time you get enough $ to buy an expensive weapon/armor etc. from the c-sec officer, go buy it. you will lose $ at first, but make it back very quickly. so if you save up like 80,000.....buy something from him for 80,000. sell it to the med chick for like 20,000...then buy it back from xpax for 10,000......

I just watched this video today, 11months after your comment. I'm playing the first Mass Effect for the first time and looked for a video explanation of this trick and found this guy's video.
Many video guides like this use techno/house/dubstep music as background noise to make the video progress easier instead of seeming to drag on.

Thats kind of pointless. There are plenty of high value items to be found lying around everywhere. I finished my first play through with 5 million and within the first hour of my second playthrough I had maxed out money and omni-gel. Opening crates kind of became pointless lol.

there is one thing that i have noticed cause i have encountered this problem...you only get the last 20 items you sell. i did a little test and i sold 23 items cause i counted how many times i hit A than i went to expat and i counted how many times i hit A and it came out to 20. so there is a limit and i suggest selling 20 of the most expensive stuff.

You got it. I tried this after i did a whole slew of side missions---model V and up on a lot of weapons and upgrades. I ended up with million bucks--(I got the RICH achievement LOL)---but when i bought back from Expat, I was like..........
..."Here comes another half mill......wait WHAT?!?!?!"
ANd I LOST half a mill---PLUS some AWESOME upgrades and weapons i was expecting to get back.

I did this about 20 times and then realized I had no items on Liara and only armors on tali and shepard. you loose stuff. Do not sell what you may loose.

Good find.
But only good for early first play through.
The money rewards once you have leveled are crazy and I ended my first play through with at least 3 million credits.
And I was able to buy all specter gear during the second play through very shortly after starting it just from selling high leveled junk from Eden Prime!

Useful, if not kinda pointless. It's not hard to earn a lot of money in Mass Effect. 95% of the shit you find on the ground you don't need and can sell back.
