I was a faithful watcher of the show, when it was shown on KTTV-11. McAllister made the show fun and related to the kids. When the show went to ABC, it lost lost a lot of the magic that made the show fun. Young and Hamilton couldn't relate to the kids. Bob was just a big kid himself, I had fun sing along with the show's songs.

The producers and ABC TV execs hired Young and Hamilton to appeal to the show's real audience..teens..but the idea didn't work and "Kids Are People Too"went off the air in 1981. Bob worked better with young kids than with teens.

I wasn't a regular watcher of this show, but I rememebr watching episodes here and there. My interest in it was highest when Bob McAllister was host. I lost interest after he was fired. With all due respect to Michael Young (Bob's replacement) and Randy Hamilton (Young's replacement), they were not worthy successors to McAllister.

I remember "Cheap Trick" beingon this show and saying that "they picked their name randomly". Even as a kid,I knew they were LYING through their teeth...

It's too bad that Bob couldn't have done this show for little

kids.But..the damn,stupid network execs and producers tried to

force him to do the show for teens.They didn't even tell him that it's

a teens variety/talk tv show.

"The Flying Ferges Bros and their band "ACROBAT" was on the trampoline. We were doing a college tour in the northeast and I remember going into New York with at the time heavy video gear on a skateboard from some crazy parking lot and selling our act to these people.

I remember back in the late 70s and early 80s. Every Sunday before church, I turned on my TV in my bedroom and watch Kids are people too.

Dear Belcher Channel, Bob didn't know that this show was aimed at teens not for little

kids.He tried to change the format of the show and aim at little kids. But..the producers and ABC TV execs said.."No"and he was forced to

leave the show.That's why this show stinks!

This was not Michael Young's only TV show. In 1982, he hosted the short-lived "Soap World" show, which talked about soap operas and the people in them. I recall it because the theme music was ripped from the 1970s game show, "Break the Bank."

Years before corp america took over TV and the mouse and cable ran wild. Kids Are People Too was a simple show with simple values and theams. It is too bad a program without mass marketing and million dollar budgets and mega fan base wounldnt make it on todays TV.

Good 'ol youtube, makes you remember things you forgot.

In this case for me: that band with the two guitarists who used a trampoline in their act! They doubled for the Gibbs brother in that horrible "Sergeant Pepper" movie they made.

On KOPT they did a full song which I remember went on for a while and was pretty hard rocking...but that's all I can remember. I guess kids and the world wasn't ready--and still ain't--for trampoline somersaulting guitar heroes. Hendrix never did that!

I didn't remember the wack-a-do parts until the song came on and it was as if I had just seen the show yesterday. I do remember the "Exercise" song though. Not sure if that's Kids Are People Too or Wonderama. I can't help it if I have c.r.s. ;-)

I remembered Wonderama and Kids are People too and I loved them both and remembered all the words too : )....either we both need lives or I think we still remember because it made us happy when we were young LOL!!! It actually still makes me smile.

Sadly,this show was plauged by creative

interferende and Bob was being forced to

do this show for teens.

He worked best with little kids..not teens.

KAPT came after Wonderrama didn't it? I was in the audience as a 8 year old in '73 with my brother. Wish I had a copy of that!
