Male Danish Heirs are called Christian or Frederik. Charles is in the UK. And the city of Aarhus have never been home to the danish kings.. in that period it was the city of Roskilde because it was more central in the kingdom.

When you have either destroyed a playable faction or completed a campaign you unlock them.

IF you win a campaign you unlock all playable factions. But destroying them in a campaign will also unlock them.

@atal0071 one way to to win a campain, the other way is to alter the descr_strat file to play as anybody but the mongols,aztecs,timurds, you can play as rebels but i wouldent advise it. and yes that means playing as the papals.

Know how to use the pool? Bunch the troops of archers, spearmen and cavalry. The Lancers always go forward to defend against the charges and the cavalry. Archers are subnet behind in combat and only used if things go wrong. The infateria light displays on the flanks or retagurdia enemies. It is advisable to charge spearmen or pikemen front against either not in the deployment of these castles ..

I used England to destroy Scotland and then I played as them. I found Scotland the easiest because you don't have France, The Holy Roman Empire or any other factions in the western European area. Once you have conrol of the British Isles you can expand into Denmark and Russia which is also rather easy as it's unlikely you'll get surrounded over there unless you expand greatly in a particular direction.

you can win as any faction. which one you choose should depend on your preferences concerning troop types. for example, if you like heavy cavalry and infantry, use the french. if you like archers in combination with effective infantry, choose england. if you prefer mounted archers and such, any estern faction is recommended.

When playing as the Danes, I am in a power grab for land! I ignore Norway and Sweden at first, because noone is going to go after them. I hastily try and take Hamburg, and Magdeburg. And then, I move East and West, trying to take rebel controlled Bruges, Antwerp, Stettin, Krakow, Riga, and Helsinki. Deny other factions access to rebel lands.

Beat the game and you will unlock all the playable factions. Or just beat the playable factions. So if you destroy Denmark the faction ingame then you can play them in a new campaign.

there is a way to edit the files if you want to unlock all factions for campaign.

yup To unlock all of the factions in the game, first find this directory: Medieval II TotalWar\data\world\maps\campa­ign\imperial_campaign. Then locate the file called descr_strat and open it with Microsoft Word or Notepad. Replace the "unlockable" section with the "playable" section and then save the changes you've made. If you did this correctly, the cheat will take effect the next time you run Medieval II: Total War!

The Flanders give a solid economy boost as the Brughes and Antwerpen are so rich!!!I will try to make a big military preparation for the big campaign eastwards (vs Russia) ASAP (which means as soon as I will calm down Germany and Poland)! You have an interesting grand tactic for your danish campaign. I too concentrate on Oslo and Stockholm in the beginning of the campaign, but once I have a foothold there, I shift my armies towards the south, towards Flanders and northeren France.

Never actually thought about invading Russia in the danish campaign.

Well since I loaded my game into Steam, I always got the latest edition, I have no idea what version number we are at. But not all archers suck, the regular peasant archer does. but Longbow men and Sherwood archers, they can really destroy enemy units efficiently. It also depends on who they are up against, fully upgraded Swordsmen are almost immune against archers, then you must use crossbow men.
