"There's a restroom right at the bottom of the ramp, and it's General Admission so anyone can go up and just sit there anytime they want" LOL - on his reason for picking Sect.34
@chipdrusano Yep ! Cretin Hop, gotta love the sound track.. although I couldn't pin point the other song besides Surfin Bird & Cretin Hop.. but it sounded cooll
@hip2bdaniel Marty Bass says he likes it up in section 38 where he can snort cocaine with Wild Bill Hagy and also give him a handjob when the weather turns cold and make him cum all over himself.
Fun stuff but IMHO he was a cheap imitation to "The Wheel and Spoke" of the mid 70's C-O-L-T-S. Yes, the "real" Colts were in Baltimore, not the phony pos in the Crapolis.
@saveusfrom1983 --sure seems like it. Bill is a legend. His era coincided with time when Orioles were the class of baseball. Balt was alwasy a football town, despite orioles success, until 1979, when Bill gained notoriety and O's won pennant. Refused to go to any more games when they banned bringing in your own beer.
this brings tears to my eyes. i sure wish i could go back in time to enjoy baseball like they did in section 34. these new folks at the games make me sick. cell-phone morons.
i've never been to Memorial Stadium, but I heard from my father and uncle it was in BAD shape, parking was shitty and the bathroom wait during Colts games was an entire quarter...we are from different generation obviously, so no disrepect but I LOVE Camden Yards, it's a great ball park and a great place to watch the game
After 36 years, it appears as if the city's name will make a return to the Orioles' road uniforms.
The Sun has learned that the Orioles are in the process of filing the required paperwork with Major League Baseball to add "Baltimore" to their road jerseys, replacing the nickname of the club that has adorned the away uniforms since 1973, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. The uniform change would go into effect for the 2009 season.
Absolutely awesome! We need another Wild Bill. Shout out to all the guys who dressed up as Wild Bill on Sat against Yanks- well done! We need this more frequently at Camden Yards! It was great hearing more O's cheering than Yanks fans!
Could not agree more. Though I live on the west coast now, I grew up in Charm City, went to many games at Memorial, and am actually friends with the guys who paid tribute to the late great Wild Bill last week. What an incredible, inspired thing to do. They made me proud, and hopefully did the same for all of Baltimore. Wild Bill still lives!
This is another great reason why YouTube is amazing. Where else can you see great stuff like this. I was at an Orioles game 3 days ago and a younger fan was dressed up in a fake beard with the hat, the tube socks, and the jean shorts. He even did the cheer on the dugout. Very cool to see.
Fantastic trip down memory lane. Kept looking for myself in the scene of fans sitting up top in Section 34. Those were the days. Thanks Wild Bill!
Even though I don't live in "Balmer" anymore, I totally agree with Takwolf that a statue to honor Wild Bill would definitely be fitting. Yeah cut-off jeans and tube socks!
Remember Wild Bill well, God rest his soul. Last time I was at Memorial Stadium was in 1990 while I was on leave from Iceland. and actually sat in Section 34. Wasn't the same without him.
He will be missed, he's up there doing his spelling bee with Rex Barney saying Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
When will the Orioles be a good team again, you should ask? They've been to the playoffs twice since they last won in 1983, & they're in the same division as the Yankees & Red Sox, none since 1997. Maybe one of those days I would like to see the Orioles into playoff contention again.
Growing up in Baltimore during the 70s and 80s and seeing those guys in Section 34. Watching a great team. Note that during this time, there are more Baltimore fans than Boston fans at the park. Wish we could say the same today....
R.I.P. Wild Bill. A Baltimore icon that has gone into history. Camden Yards could never be like Memorial Stadium
You know, this video brings up a good point. There should be a statue to honor "Wild Bill" Hagey. Maybe near the Memorial Stadium Memorial. Complete with a straw Hat, cut-off jeans and tube socks
Thanks for the video and the memories of Orioles baseball in Memorial Stadium. The 1979 team was one game short of winning the World Series and they would not have been close without the sprirt generated by Wild Bill. RIP
Man, I didn't realize how close he was to me in Dundalk. I just drove past Ed's Inn on my way home tonight, but no one goes there anymore since you can get barred for cussing. We will all miss Wild Bill and those miracles on 33rd street. Hopefully, soon the Orioles will turn into a respected and winning organization again. I see it coming with Bedard and signing Wieters this past week. I'm crossing my fingers since the last time we won a world series I was 5 years old.

Section 34 of Memorial Stadium had more fans then the entire Camden Yards now-a-days. So sad.

I love how you can hear his Baltimore accent with the long "O" sound.

Great memories. We used to head to the game and meet up with friends in section 34.
This was back when you could bring beer into the stands. Wild Bill would have a seat next to him reserved for his beer cooler.

Voices of Chuck Thompson and Bill O'Donnell calling the action on the field we see briefly in this truly great 8 minute clip? "Aint't the beer cold!"
