the goverment is investing in themselves, the money that was giving to laos are all distributed among the high ranked officials thats a fact if you don't believe go to laos and you will see the how poor the civilians are.... while the official lives in palaces lol...

If you had visited my school 1st & 2nd Grades in '74-'75, on mountains over-looking Kasi, you'd see what you see here: crude 2x4 as seats & writing desks, crude cement/dirt floor; eager but impoverished students who yearned for no more than 2 pencils & a book. But Laos has NEVER been poor; 100 miles from this poor school, in central Laos, the LPDR's army cuts & sells prime woods to Japan, China, Vietnam, etc. that enable the those LPDR leaders to drive $100K 2009 BMWs & Mercedes Benz. Very sad.

Bshyna, good job! Thanks for sharing. That's what I always wanted to do. Visiting schools and helping kids. I visited laos in 1995. I was going to visit old school that I used to go to, Phiavat high school, they didn't let me in, I was upset. I then went to school near dongdok, they let me in, and I felt so much better. The goverment look at themselves only, not others nor country, so selffish.

This is great. I was in Laos in 2006 and I had an opportunity travel to many villages, school, foster homes and towns. It was so emotional with joys.

I'll never forget them. All the books and pencils were purchased in Laos. I visited a school in Vte and Vang Vieng. Returning in 08 doing the same. Can't wait!

These Lao kids are sooo good...good jobs on helping them out...we should all make some kind of contributions when visiting Laos, especially in the province region....where is this town and what is it called?
