  • Hard drive: Help...Help- EEEEEEEEP...Help...Help- EEEEEEEEP

  • I'll be interested to see what this drive looks like with the cover removed. It sounds like it's screaming in pain - the bearings must have been seriously damaged.

  • @liquidoxygen0 The drive is still around here somewhere. Maybe if I can find it, I will post pics.

  • wow!

my brother did the same thing with an old 20gb werstern digital that was dead and sounds just like that!!!!!!!!

  • Headcrash + spin motor bearings fucked up. Typical noises :-P

  • @mima14031985

I would rather say that the heads stuck to the platters due to the shock and the drive used the spin buzz and spin high current rutines to unstuck them.

  • @Springdaleify Yes I intended headcrash with heads stuck to the platters, I forgot to mention it. But the bearings are also damaged, as told by the noise the motor makes when spinning.

This drive experienced a serious physical shock.

  • wooooow cool sounds, now sample the start bit and make an oldschool acid house song with it :P

  • @mrpeanut25 Its a nice idea, but Im terrible at that sort of stuff

  • You should have turned it into a grinder.

  • This is the best hard drive ever XD
