Yeah, the sun can wash out a red dot or laser site. I've had bad experiences in the past. I'm a strict open iron or peep sites guy, with my pistols, these days. I've never seen a head shot animal twitch for that long. It's like he was still "running" or something. Pretty scary. Thanks for posting.

I believe many animals, specifically mammals, possess complex emotions, equating to different personalities and the like. For that, I can not say that those animals are like plants. In ecosystems, we have a grazing food chain. The meat we eat, was from a living organism that ate plant matter (lower on the food chain). We are told to eat our vegetables, as they are the key providers of vitamins and nutrients. So I choose to spare the more complex animal life to the plant's.
@Embracile i prefer to kill all my own meat if i can i abhor factory farming. i think everyone who eats meat should have to kill and butcher their own meat sometime it give a person a different perspective about being a meateater. veg or vegan is fine if you chose i tried it for a while but never take a high horse because i wasn't casing animals pain anymore. animals live in a kill and be killed world that is their life.
I have more respect for someone that hunts their own meat. Maybe even a more regulated form of free-range farming to appeal to the masses. @Embracile there are some very good studies that suggest dietary needs are dictated largely by blood type. veg diet is best for type A, where red meat, fruit, and veg diet is good 4 type O. if type O's don't eat meat it can lead to unhealthy conditions. and there are certain foods that cause bad chemical reactions in the blood and digestive tract. i just wish people would quit judging other people by totally subjective personal standards. too much action based on lack of understanding these days

Nothing wrong with shooting Wild Boar's in my opinion they do more damage to farmland and native species then anything. Not that this is the case here but often times the nerves will still fire even after animal is dead which is why there is often twitching. This especially true when it is a head shot.
i just saw a hog hunting vid that made me sick. he shot it 4 times with a handgun, and while it was on the ground moaning and kicking, it was obviously alive, just paralized. they stood around and laughed. make it quick and humane. i hunt. but make it an as quick humane kill as possible. they do feel pain, be humane about it. but this was a nice clean quick shot. good job

I feel bad when i think about animals feeling pain. I try to change my perspective: animals feel pleasure and hate pain.

@Embracile pleasure is the other side of pain. no 1 without the other. buddha's greatest realization was that there is no life without suffering. a skilled hunter can deliver a quick painless kill shot which is best for the condition of the meat. you know it has been proven that plants are aware of injury (pain?) they are even aware of other plants being injured. animals can't feel another animals pain. there is only 1 food chain we are all in it. does it make sense to attack 1 link in it?

I believe many animals, specifically mammals, possess complex emotions, equating to different personalities and the like. For that, I can not say that those animals are like plants. In ecosystems, we have a grazing food chain. The meat we eat, was from a living organism that ate plant matter (lower on the food chain). We are told to eat our vegetables, as they are the key providers of vitamins and nutrients. So I choose to spare the more complex animal life to the plant's.

I have more respect for someone that hunts their own meat. Maybe even a more regulated form of free-range farming to appeal to the masses. Quitting cold turkey is not feasible. i feel advancement can only come about by attacking one extreme with another, giving room for the balanced opinion. Judging by your comment, I am assuming you had a chance to live amongst animals. You can understand that aside from dogs and cats, others can care for us too.

@Embracile there are some very good studies that suggest dietary needs are dictated largely by blood type. veg diet is best for type A, where red meat, fruit, and veg diet is good 4 type O. if type O's don't eat meat it can lead to unhealthy conditions. and there are certain foods that cause bad chemical reactions in the blood and digestive tract. i just wish people would quit judging other people by totally subjective personal standards. too much action based on lack of understanding these days

Nothing wrong with shooting Wild Boar's in my opinion they do more damage to farmland and native species then anything. What I don't like to see is a domestic pig let go in the wild only to be hunted on video and made out to be wild. You can tell by the pigs facial features that this animal is not a Wild Boar. Over population leads to disease. Would you rather they die slowly and painfully? Didn't think so. And maybe you would't feel so bad if one of them killed your pet or attacked your kid. Wild boar are a big problem in some places. This is the right thing to do and if you don't see that, you're ignorant.

i just saw a hog hunting vid that made me sick. he shot it 4 times with a handgun, and while it was on the ground moaning and kicking, it was obviously alive, just paralized. they stood around and laughed. make it quick and humane. i hunt. but make it an as quick humane kill as possible. they do feel pain, be humane about it. but this was a nice clean quick shot. good job

The second headshot was purely for good measure. any movement after that is muscle reflexes. The hog is dead, it's heart has stopped, it's brain is most likely destroyed, it's muscles are just reacting unconsciously and uncontrollably. @bigkfunk I dunno about needing Jesus, but a lesson on biology would do the YouTube population well.

He started to twitch from the loss of motor control, so I followed up with 3 more shots from my 22 LR hollow points. Twitching stopped, and I never laughed at the fact that I ended an animals life. I guess the negative comments and ratings are simply because the pig suffered. I'm a shooter, a lifetime member of the NRA, the ISRA, Gun Owners of America and the 2nd Amendment Foundation but even I felt a little compassion for the suffering of the pig. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for hunting and wild pigs are non-native and destructive. Also, hunters do more for wildlife than all the bleeding hearts combined. Still, I don't like to see an animal suffer.
