  • I love this guys walk, classic

  • Great video.

  • why do I always have to talk to tweedle dumb before talking to the real customer.Im sorry but that happens all the time to me.I"d say 90 % of the time whoever I ask whats the problem hasnt a clue what there talking about.

  • I like this character. so funny! how do guys like that survive in the industry though?

  • @tkarmakid Some companies will hire just about anyone. lol

  • That's your Amana heat pump right? What year is it from? It looks an Amana Prestige 2.5-ton straight-cool unit I saw at foreclosed house in Atlanta once.

  • @RestrictedAccessCIP You got it right. Thanks for watching.

  • @DrZarkloff So it is an Amana Prestige? What year is it?

  • LMAO

  • Reminds me of a guy I know!

  • HEY!!!! He forgot to collect ! He is a bad HVAC tech.

  • hahaha this my boss!!! Just looks and tells the person a load of crap.

  • Your the one who coats my grandmother 3000k for a new unit that was working?

  • @Hv1245 Grandmothers seem to be the biggest victim.

  • @DrZarkloff yep lol haks all daY

  • jajajajajj jejej so funy..

  • @yantur51 Thanks

  • LOL!!!

  • 2 days later my fan motor locked up (big suprise!) I called the owner of the company & told him he owed me $300 for the bad service call and another $100 for a new fan motor- he agreed to cancel the service call charges but not pay for the motor-

  • @wolfstan64 This might sound a bit crud. You might have made out in the good. At least you have a new fan motor without having to pay for the service call.

  • @DrZarkloff - I totally agree- I feel lucky that they credited the original call & I purchased & installed the motor.

    This is a funny video!

  • @wolfstan64 Thanks.

  • LOL- I had a tech come out not long ago (I was laid up with a bad back) & he said I needed the coil cleaned on my heat pump & that I should change my air filters more often- (I change them 4 times a year) I told him to go ahead just to see how it went- I caught him spraying coil cleaner directly into the fan motor-(outdoor heat pump) When I asked him about it he said, "Oh it wont hurt it , it's designed to get wet. He charged me $150 for a service call and an additional $150 to clean the coil.

  • Hello Dr Z, I've seen a few of your video's and I just had to comment on this one, I was in the elec field 10 yrs.one of my instructors said " If I had to do it all again I would go in hvac. next year then I'm finally taking his advise. anyway I knew a guy like your "bad tech", it's freaking sad a lot of them take advantage of the elderly, We need more Good Tech's out there!

Thanks Dr Z for you time and effort putting these video's together.

    Bob

  • @4gann10 Thanks for watching.

  • Hay its edbtz thanks for replying

  • lol great video, this dude reminds me of this sorry tech i knew a while back

  • hay my friend i just wanted to tell you you are very funny guy i love your videos im 31 years old im thinking about learning hvac but i only have time to go to a college near my job do you think thats a good idea for me to get an idea

  • @1edbtz Thanks for watching. I think that's a great idea.

  • you are so funny! so may to many people tray to scam people!

  • lol

  • you can just replace the compressor instead of the whole unit right?

  • @kodd13 Yes.

  • @kodd13 Yes, but you have to weigh your options. Its repair price verse replacement price and of course you take the age of the system into effect also. If you have a 10+ yr old system then you seriously need to weigh your options. The HVAC industry has came along way in efficiency in the past 10 years. But yes you can just replace the compressor.

  • yeah can u on one of your videos

  • sad part is alot of techs dont know how to be good techs.Instead of using there skills they guess and charge way to much even for a service call

  • love it dr z i used to work for a company like thet and i had to leave just could not take the dishonest dollar the wanted us to sell things that were not needed they even made us take sells classes each week what a rip off im still mad i got out have not done hvac

for a while i miss the honesty will go my own this summer

  • @heavyhvac I hope that you do well. Good luck.

  • @heavyhvac I hope that you do well. Good luck.

  • @heavyhvac I can see the salesman class to be important. It teaches you customer service at the same time. There really are honest techs out there.

  • lol

  • @SteveKarlEdelen Thanks

  • I thought the guy did good. Leaves more work for ME! LOL.

  • @newstart49 Good way to look at it.

  • 6000$ that's a bargain !

local hvac company charges 106$ per pound just to charge (and recharge, because they also can't braze properly, they don't even have a nitrogen tank !)

  • @shodanxx I've seen those guys, too. lol

  • Hahahaha!!! I had to forward this over to my boss!!!! man that was funny!!

  • @mikerochesterny Thanks

  • Droopy Ass Nigga hahahah

  • @Trav7000 I should have wore red underwear to make it show better.

  • lmao...

  • @hvacpro1 Thanks

  • LOL I know a few techs like that lol.

  • @Nutintoitbut2doit So do I. Scary.

  • Priceless lol

  • @487livespot Thanks

  • i can see the problem it's an amana you need to get rid of that crap and get a luxaire there the best !

  • @a1boywonder There is nothing wrong with Amana.

  • @TheHvacdude101 The newer, more energy efficient Amana systems a pretty good.

  • @a1boywonder I do want to replace it one of these days.

  • Hey I think that's the same guy that came to our house last summer. lol Wonderful example.

No, really we had one just like that and it was to change out the fan motor. He wanted to charge us $1600. Needless to say we found someone else.

  • @momofwahees $1600? Yikes!

  • this one is a good video jim we actualy have techs like that in my area:)

  • @itscool1968 Really makes the good techs stand out.

  • Excellent example. I think our tech is trying to con us into mini-splits, while we have a perfectly working central a/c. In fact, the power bill would probably be about the same in the end too, the installtion would be huge from the type of house we have too (not to mention the brand of system they use here)

  • @airconguy1 Only the 20+ SEER Mini splits make economic sense.

  • @DrZarkloff quite right. In fact, it will probably cost about $20000 to get the 5-6 mini splits we need. (We have a concrete house, and the lounge/dining system will have to cool the kitchen at the back of the room too, it'll be where the existing lounge/dining vents are), we could run the central air we have (trane from1985) for about 3-5 years on that!

  • @airconguy1 Mini splits do cost a bunch.

  • Definitely got it right with the baggy pants. Thx for not showing any crack. ;)

  • @tlewis7777 Thanks

  • Nice job Dr. Z. I met a tech like that last summer. He said I needed a new evaporator without even checking mine for leaks. The next day his crew showed up with an evaporator and wanted $4,000. I told them to get lost. My system is working fine.

  • @Garcansdad LOL. Some of these guys think that everyone's made of money.

  • LOL!

  • @More350Power Thanks

  • dude that was great lol

  • @erd675 Thanks

  • lol good vid. this is why i started me own a/c cleaning co. i dont lie and if it can be fixed ill fix it.

  • @V8Jagnut yer, everything from excessive part markups to ripping out whole systems because of dirty filters is a big issue in the industry :(

  • @Aussie50 It makes the whole industry look crooked.

  • @V8Jagnut I'm sure that you give the customer their moneys worth.

  • LOL, that's probably more the norm than you would like to think.

  • @sraike Even Norman knows better.

  • Very good and very true with some!!

  • @okiequick Thanks. That's the scary part.

  • shout out to Everest college HVAC class in arlington texas

  • @joemomma214 I will if you'd like.

  • haha..hilarious

  • @crownvvc4 Thanks

  • Haha funny video! Keep up the good work!

  • @Vinylrecordsneverdie Thanks for watching.

  • That was fantastic! I think I see these guys all the time at the supply houses. These are the same fellas marking the refrigerant up 2000% on elderly customers.

  • @talyn875 I don't know how anyone could get that much for refrigerant. What a rip off.

  • @DrZarkloff well, 2000% is an exageration. But I had one where the tech had not only left the drain plug in the OD fan replacement motor (resulting in a line of damage through the whole unit) he left high voltage wires hanging in the cabinet of the unit! Of course, the run cap for that fan was strapped to the hot gas line too.

  • when did you start uploading in 1080p dr z

  • @bright41 We bought a Nikon CoolPix camera last year.

  • did you put some of the freeze on in lol

  • @hvacman77 Nah! Grandma wasn't going to let that guy touch her a/c.

  • awesome keep it up

  • @Kaden0811 Thanks.

  • @Kaden0811 Thanks.

  • hahahaha hey that was a really good video man great job

  • @Nowayout360 Thanks.
