Dear Bidon45, I often stand in the middle of one lane roads with my bike and videotape my mom eating things off the side of the road. Unfortunately the video of the car that came shortly after this completed was too violent to post. I do appreciate your toxin concerns though.

Is that place JUST for bikes? If cars go on there its not a great idea to pick things you plan on eating near the road, they absorb toxins from exhaust.
