How many hits off this funk gets me high? One hit. Two hits. Three hits. Four hits were getting there. Five hits yes yes six hits c'mon baby give it to me do it slow seven hits oh god yes were there. Let's keep it going.......rock on...........rock on.....
I remember hearing this song when I was about 14 or 15, listening to a Chicago radio station with the radio held next to my ear, under the covers, so my parents wouldn't hear it at 3 in the morning!
This song is like a partner to REM's "Drive." They're connected by the line "Hey, kids, rock n roll" (though this song came first) and they're both very minimal and kind of creepy, but in different ways. Both are great songs :)
Just learned from comments it got Glee'd, why, every song that makes you feel cool, listineing to in your car, late at night, is made into a bubble gum, oh those goofy teens, bubble gum piece of .... well I'll just forget about and rock on.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I like this song i think it was on an old macdonalds ad many years ago and liked very much and I was a young kid the lol and I really, really hope that glee does not ruin this song but then again I really hate glee.
@ckrish1 yeah so what happened to the girl you had a crush on? I remember a girl I had a crush on in Junior H.S. Then we went to diff H.S. I had a gf, we went to an amusement park, where I ran into this girl I had had a crush on. We talked a bit, but stupid me I never told her, or got her tel #, or gave her mine, etc.. Cuz of my damn code of honor.. I had a gf. I have no idea what ever happened to her. Not sure I remember her name.. Cindy or Cynthia, maybe. No idea her last name, now.
i remember being in 1st grade and this song was stuck in my head everyday walking into the cafeteria and thinking about that girl i had a crush on at the time. thumbs up if this gong played a special role in your life!!!
I can never figure out why people think James Dean was so hot. Every movie he made he played a whinning baby. A real man assured of who he is would have never sought the praise from anybody especially if his folks were pussy whiners too. Given a decent role he might have done well but 3 movies ain't a career & fast cars also get you dead fast. Safety first Jimmy. On Sep 30, 1955 you found out physics plays no favorites.
the great thing about most 70s rock songs is that you can rock to them, make love to them and get high to them. rock stars in the 70s had more testosterone than the whiny annoying rock bands from today.
@wullieready -I do believe this song to be the Basic groove of several generations and will never die on the radio ,,,,No matter what the occasion or the weather. once you have heard this Song at 3500 watts....you never doubt the Rythummmmm of the BEEEAAATTT. and the Adrenaline juices flow in all directions and then BIPP_BOPP......you become the Music and the Audio vibes pulsate in thee ,,,,,Wich constitutes Frequencies Un-heard of in previous jamms and tends to make a BELIEVER OUT OF SOULS!!!!!
it seems like nowadays the pop culture pays homage to the 80s and 90s, in the 90s it was infuence alot by throwbacks to the 70s, and in the 70s (when this song was made) people in turn showed renewed interest in the 50s. The 70s were cool but this song obviously is reminiscing about things like the birth of rock and roll and pop culture icons like james dean. paying homage to the 1950s. just my observation
@nknejad I see that too, but in the past it was more suttle. Like people payed homage, but in the 70's they weren't doing every other tv show in the style of the 50s, now everything is an homage to a previous decade and it annoys the hell out of me. I love the 50's, 60's 70's and early 80's, but Glee, fucking ruins everything. Just saying.
we were not hippies, The 70's were awesome, it was a free time full of 'discos' and dancing, kids of today would have hated it!! We didn't get our kicks from beating people up, my bunch of mates didn't, anyway! You could walk down the streets without fear and we all knew each other, young and old!!! We had respect for our elders, it might have had something to do with my dad being the bouncer at all the local discos though? I would love to go back!
The irony is that most people thinking "Rock On" nowadays would hardly appreciate or replicate this kind of reflection, spaciousness, and subtlety, with a lack of guitar domination and the passages with strings and horns.
@dmcguire70 just don't watch that gay shit, I mean I didn't know what Glee was untill about 2 months ago. If you don't pay attention to dumb shit it will eventually go away.
