are all 4 pin to 4 pin cables the same? In other words, their not a combination of male to male, male to female, female to female ends, right? I have a Sony DCR-HC90E Handycam and a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop.

Nice movie! How do you decide between hdfh and hdfx mode (or hdlp or hdhq for that matter)? I just got a Sony HDR cx550v and have iMovie 08 but might need 09 or might wait for 11' when it comes. My goal is to get videos to YouTube at 1080p. Thanks much.

im in need of a time lapse and i believe i lost my manual

and cant get one online.

so maybe you can help me.

i found the feature that said "interval rec. time" or something like that

and i was wondering if you knew if that was it

and how to work it maybe.

if it isnt, and you know how to do a time lapse can you help me?

You need to make sure the aspect ratio is 16:9, thats widescreen and if it already is set to that YouTube should automatically set it to the ratio 16:9 but sometimes it doesnt for some reason.

did you post any of the progressive or slow mo shot? would be thankful if i could see some action shots, everybody is posting low light and focus test...

how does it work with sports shot when you slow motion them? is it focused good? im talking about something like a sportscar doing some high speed turns, snowboaring, etc...

It is funny you mention sports, i attend a snowboard academy, and use this camera everyday, it works very well in slow motion, it is pretty much the most surperb camera, but as putting it in slow motion in final cut, you will have to cut it up into 3 different parts if you make it slow motion. And as for the progressive scan , it works well with high speed shots.

tnx man, its just what i wanted to hear. i use premiere CS3 and it has the same system and i hoping they will include time remapping (it works for audio) in next version, so we`ll be able to do extra smooth slow-mos...

just one more thing: can you import interlaced and progressive scans in the same project or you have to montage it separately?

Thanks for confirming that I can use the 4 pin to 6 pin cable. I havent imported anything yet and hadn't looked into it. Ive got a class project that I have to do by monday and the manual and it said use 4 pin to 4 pin and i almost flipped out because I don't have the 4 pin input either. I was a worried I wouldn't be able to get my video off without buying a card with the 4 pin input on it which I would have to order online from what I can tell. It wouldn't have gotten here on time Thanks man
