I actually *don't* remember my first video game ever, but it must have been one of my older brother's Atari 2600 games (maybe even the (in)famous Pitfall).
As for Castlevania, that's a series I mostly associate with the Gameboy (especially the rather awful Castlevania: The Adventure which I owned), but I do remember reading the magazine reviews of Castlevania 3 when that finally came out in Europe in late 1992 (!).
@Demiath That's funny because one of my favorite Castlevania's was Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge for the original gameboy. Would play that for hours.

独特の世界観を醸し出す作品が多く楽しめた。
オープニング画面を眺めるだけでも楽しかった。
想像力を目一杯使って、頭の中で2Dを3Dにしてみたり。
ゲームを楽しめるゲームってこの頃が絶頂期なのだろうか。

My first game was Star Wars: Rebel Assault II on the Macintosh. A lot of fond memories came from that weird little game.
