Do you not see that I pointed out the irony of accusing others of hypocrisy while possibly doing it in a partisan and hypocritical way? Do you not see that the reference to oil was about those who are not participating in the partisan hypocrisy previously referred to?

@eagleswing44 That is likely true but it is only half the story. If GWB was giving this speech all the Bush haters would be condemning the improv war operation in Libya instead of celebrating it. Not to mention completely leaving Congress out of the decision- they would be calling GWB an unconstitutional tyrant.
Also, there are alot of people here who seem to believe that this is about oil and that Bush was about oil so there is still more to the story.

Continuation: Kudos on transferring the burden. Does that erase our responsibility for involving ourselves in a new avoidable conflict? No. Does it lessen the hypocrisy of one day enforcing human rights while our government actively violates said rights at the same time or protects allies who do? To use your words "Our interests" are not the lives of the Libyan people, but the resources of Libya. Guantanamo is USAs' most visible example of human rights violations.
