  • I rape the replay button.

  • The original is by leadbelly back in the 30's

  • yh think syst3m

  • v good

  • Original by The Animals, this is one of the best cover's of it i've heard.

  • gamato!

  • Most screamers cant sing and most singers can't scream, they did this song justice

  • Amazing cover! :O I'm going to New Orleans now, lol.

  • I've watched a dozen vids for this song...and many people have tried to duplicate it but, this is the only one that has given me chills.

  • 0:10 Such a lonely day..... And it's mine.... The most loneliest day in my life..

  • @axelitometallico666 not even close to the same beat on the soad song.

  • THUMBS UP FROM NEW ORLEANS!

  • THE ORIGINAL GOES BACK TO THE SIXTIES....ITS A SHAME TO SEE ALLMOST NOBODY KNOWS THIS AND NOBODY SEEMS TO GIVE A SHIT......THIS WAS A NR1 HIT BY THE ANIMALS IN THE 60's.......SURELY A 100 OF BANDS COVERED THIS BUT IN A MUCH BETTER WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @meanmachine378 It's an OLD folk song, you can find videos on YouTube of people singing it in the 30s. ITS A SHAME TO SEE ALMOST NOBODY KNOWS THIS. Search - Leadbelly.

  • @meanmachine378 the animals COVERED it in the sixties. This song is much older. Its a shame nobody knows this or gives a shit (apparently including you) If you want to make a point and call people out, atleast know what you're talking about..

  • @meanmachine378 no....the song goes back alot later than the 60's buddy. And no....nobody has yet to top this version. idgaf what you say.

  • great band! i had the chance to meet her twice ,shes so nice.

  • She is an amazing vocalist.

  • Me encanta esta tia, su voz es adorablemente cojonuda!

  • Ahhhh....Eargasm!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You know, I'm beginning to wonder if this song is just impossible to be done wrong? Every version I hear is at least as good as the last...it seems everyone has a solid perspective on this old folk song.

    Great cover. Good job!

  • @dblackcrimzon Thats because they used part of House of the Rising Sun.

  • @syst3mfailur3x That's so cool of them. Ow wait they didn't even make that song so that would make it kinda hard you know. It's actually a very old song from I believe 1978 by the skids, an english punk band

  • @Whisperfall scottish

  • @Whisperfall Its a much older song then that, origins unknown as far as i know. It was an old folk song that originated in in New Orleans I think.

  • @syst3mfailur3x Yep, it's an old folk song from the South.

  • @syst3mfailur3x sounds like one of those great depression songs. maybe its one of those family songs passed down from generation to generation and then turned into several versions.

  • @syst3mfailur3x I think the original was The Animals.

  • @Whisperfall Nooo no no. This is a song about New orleans. An english punk band deffinetly didnt write this The skids covered it, but its an oooold folk song. The animals made their cover of it in 1964, which is kind of what made the song famous

  • @Whisperfall house of the rising sun is WAY older. originally a sixteenth-century English folk song about a Soho brothel, and that English emigrants took the song to America where it was adapted to its later New Orleans setting. yea heh this song is older than any band :P

  • @Whisperfall Yeahhhhh.... No. The original is by The Animals. And it was before 1978.

  • @YalanaShadowheart I was referring to "The saints are coming. If I was talking about "House of the rising sun" then you should've been allowed to kill me.

  • @dblackcrimzon and "the saints are coming" isn't actually a U2 song, it was originally by The Skids.

  • @dblackcrimzon OMG are you sstupid? D:

  • holy shit...

  • Wow, epic cover. Really, really great.

  • she's a fuckin godess...

  • @Pegolas

    i totally agree

  • freakin awesome !!!!

  • second song ive heard of Walls of Jericho now. (this evening was the first time I actually looked into it after hearing a lot about them.) And im impressed, this girl has one hell of a vocal capacity for their type of music o.o

  • I love this song. I love this cover. I love this band. To like and fave is just not enough.

  • great !

  • DIdn't greenday do this song as well?

  • @JordonDowney1 muse, the animals, BTO, and some other bands but i dont think greenday did

  • @sk8rocksick1 green day collaborated with U2 and sang "the saint comes marching in" but sang the first verse of house of the rising sun

  • @sk8rocksick1 green day collaborated with U2 and sang "the saint comes marching in" but sang the first verse of house of the rising sun as the first verse

  • Too bad I HATE the screaming death metal. At least they show talent on one song....

  • I think (for the father part) its when he's on THE run, not A run. Different versions might have it different, but it's pretty clear on this one. But excellent job...thanks...

  • this song is sooo goood ;3

  • better than MCR & AFI !!!

  • It was probably an extremely early blues song like everything else and i do believe its about a whore house which kinda makes it a bit odd that a woman is singing it but whatever she's fucking great tho great cover

  • Great voice! I love this version! <3

  • Great voice! I love this version! <3

  • @I3lindFir3 don't beat yourself up.

  • nice cover..still love the animals but good cover.

  • Fully Captioned now with lyrics. Let me know if theres anything wrong, lyrics or timing.

  • @syst3mfailur3x "And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy," I don't hear her say "The Ruin", it is ruined?

  • @syst3mfailur3x At 1:44, the correct word is "the," not "a."

"And the only time that he is satisfied / Is when he's on the run."

    :)

  • @xxsongwriter4animexx Changed it. Thanks for letting me know.

  • the origanal was written by bob dylan .eric burdon and the animals were the first to perform it .

  • The beginning of the song is used in 'The Saints are Coming' by Green Day and U2. The beat is similar too, not sure if any other lines in the song are similar though.

  • WOW T_________T

  • i dont know it i like it but ther is sumthink about it :)

  • amazing!! i love this song. NO! I love Walls of Jericho =D <33. or both :P xD

  • great, great

i love this song, that group

    it's sooo beautiful

  • fucking kick ass, one of the greatest songs ever written done justice by and incredible band

  • Hmm... Im not liking this version as much as the Animals or Muse's version, but this has enticed me to listen to other songs by this band. I guess it wins overall then, lol

  • @masterofdisaster.. i found it in a local metal cd store

  • wonderful

  • such a sick song made even better by this band :D

  • @goalie996 nothing better from the owners of the song...maybe differend and better quality in my opinion.....

  • i love that song the words are fantastics and poetic than the ritm...........1 word AMAZING.....the animals was a great band....was...

  • The Animals did a cover, they did not create it though. Just thought I'd clear that up.

  • @syst3mfailur3x who did the orgianle?

  • @urdumb7 its an old folk song, the origins aren't really known.

  • @syst3mfailur3x how on earth did you know that that was what he meant

  • @abovethehorde Hmm? Know what exactly?

  • @syst3mfailur3x The Animals did a version back in the day, but it is an old blues song.

  • @urdumb7 Listen to "House of the Rising Sun" by " The Animals " they made it famous

  • @urdumb7 The Animals did a version back in 64 that's the most famous version thus far.

  • @urdumb7 I think it was written by Bob Dylan.

  • @doktorkraesh It's a very very old folk song

  • @doktorkraesh Nah, there was a recording of it in made in 1933 by Clarence Ashley and Gwen Foster, so it's been around since before Dylan's time...

  • @urdumb7 The Animals

  • i'm bout to start downloading this band on my ipod i have officially fallen in love with Walls of Jericho!!!

  • holy shit dude, is this the same band? i just listened to a trigger full of promises and this chick was FUCKING SCREAMING

  • Yeah, she can sing too. She sings in "No Saving Me." and "The Slaughter Begins."

  • they have a bunch of shit with her singing, she is a wonderful all around vocalist

  • yea, a slipknot interview lead me to these guys, i like them

  • Listen to "Angel"....

  • Nothing says mental anguish like an organ thats why there is one in almost every blues band ever, they should have kept that and this would have been incredible

  • my piano teacher told me that this song was originally meant to be sung by a woman and that its really "And it's been the ruin of many a poor girl" since its about a girl in the whorehouse from her point of view....sorry just felt like pointing that out haha I just found that out haha

  • this is one of the best covers of this song that i have ever herd, also stop hating its pointless SHE IS BRUTAL as White Chapel or Suicide Silence so ya...i guess

  • Good cover.

  • I like the raw voice of her. Too bad she normally grunts in her band instead of normal voice.

  • both good imo

  • Lyrics are wrong dude- The only thing a gambler needs is a suitcase and a GUN, the only time he's satisfied is when he's ON THE RUN. Listen to her sing it...

  • i copied the lyrics off a site, i was lazy.

  • That gave me chills.

  • awesome cover

  • hell yea this was uncle favorite song but he died they did this very well

  • I know the house in New Orleans

    They call the Rising Sun

And I know its been the ruin of many a poor boy

God knows I hope I'm not one

  • Oh, im sorry for that bro, sometimes im a big asshole, i meant they've changed their style a lot and that made me crazy, but im better now...

  • acoustic EP (extended play)

  • thats called change and open minded music dumb fuck

  • Shit? This is house of the rising sun, a classic, there have been countless versions of it by people from complete different genres of music. no one can call themselves a music lover and call this song shit.

  • Love it =)

  • decent cover, i think it was a little bland and could have benefited from more vamping, also the choice to go with violin instead of organ detracted from my overall view of it but, the choice to ad-lib the lyrics and the way she nailed the down trodden timber need for a song like this made up for its short comings

  • richtig gut

  • great to me

  • No Comment about vocal!!

  • the song is great, but the info states wrong lyrics...

  • I just copied and pasted off a lyrics site, so theres bound to be errors.

  • Fantastica versione

  • She is such a great singer her voice is so brilliant.

  • amazing

  • awesome fuckin cover...she has such a great voice!!and the band can shred!!

  • Love This <3
