Celine Dion is absolutely fanstastic,
she's an incredible vocalist. One of the very best.
She does not surpass the original in any way.
If she wanted to do something different with it Marka, then the statement of the music is the only thing in question. In this case, the plodding bass line, pinched vocals, and unconvincing delivery make it less than stellar.

LOL, Celine can be LOUD & husky is she wishes to. She can turn her voice into anything she wants. She even surpasses Janis Joplin in her song called 'Just the woman in me' It's here on you tube. You people are so simple minded. Just because she didn't choose to do the rock 'n roll voice in this particular song doesn't mean she can't do it. This version has an orchestral arrangement because Ben Moody, the producer didn't want to blindly copy the original but do something different with it.

maybe i never felt inclined to persue a career. not everyone who takes music lessons regardless of the amount of talent they possess are going to end up in the spotlight. you would do well to grow up and stop insulting people when you do not know all the facts.

Simply marvelous! With Celine's awesome & powerful vocals, how can dis go wrong? I understand that each of us have different preferences and i respect that freedom of speech dat u were trying to assert. But for u to say dat dis version sucks is just totally rude. Celine has a voice that doesnt have to be edited, you could practicly put it on a CD and start selling it...many people are so off key that they have to do digital editing like crazy but with Celine, they really dont have to do anything.

I never understood the lyrics until Celine sang them. I used to think anne was saying, "and now it TEARS me to the bone" and "how do i get TO alone", but when Celine sings it , it gives it so much clarity & enunciation. she knows how to emote. Thanks Celine. anne just mangles the words. lol
