I had a white one back in 1990. Drove it just like they did in the commercials. Beat the piss out of it. Loved hearing the engine at 4200rpm, shift, and then right back at 4000rpm. Poor thing got totaled out in 93. I sold it to a friend and not a month later got hit broadside while airborne. Haven't known a car since comparible to the 84 gti. VW went downhill from then on..........
I can't even imagine what the result would be if I did this with my car... which is exactly the car in this commercial, but now. I'm almost positive many, many, many things would cease to function.

Thanks for posting this! I love the German take on "Little GTO", in fact whenever I hear the original song I think of this commercial instead.
