Giuseppemicheletta, I am happy to hear your concerns for the country that I live in (USA). I wished that you would've researched more about obama before you made this video, but you have used what you understand. Despite what other countries say and think about the United States every country has its bad sides, take US and compare it to any other country. Bush, he made bad choices and did harm to the US along with many other presidents before him, but obama is the worst president is US history.
That statement is ridiculous. Please don't use fear mongering to try and scare people. Do a little research of your own to see what his actual goals are; listening to media biased towards one side or the other will only make matters worse.
Giuseppe, you're Prime Minister is a nightmare! That racist comment he made about Obamba was pitiful! Your country is in our prayers. Too many years of shame must be turned around. We are rooting for you all!
You are absolutely right. The Prime Minister of my country is a shame to me and to millions of Italians. His stupid and racist joke is the product of ignorance and arrogance. He's "ignorant" in the real sense that he does not know how unaceptable such "joke" is in any modern, open and diverse society. He's arrogant in the sense that he does not respect anyone who is not a "yes man" to him. Italy is in a very bad shape, politically, socially, ethically. Berlusconi is the example. Help us!
@starstuff what he said wasnt even racist it was a compliment when he spoke about obama being goodlooking, and the tan comment was an obvious joke which he meant with no malice.
even Berlusconi gets tanned because he's naturally pale.
@turnbacktime I don't know I suppose it's a cultural reliance on that type of power figure. I'm happy the world is off our backs for voting in Bush twice. I voted for Obama but I'm still waiting for a miracle. A politician is a politician is a politician.
Yes, L., the US did it! Alla grande! Now, it's our turn, the turn of Italy. We must change. The alternative is fading away, little by little. Se l'Italia non cambia morira'. Vogliamo provare a cambiarla insieme?
Well, I'm glad to say the United States has changed a great deal of its paradigm in policy. Through the election of Barack Obama, we will hopefully be able to bring about a more modest foreign policy with multilateralism as a central principle. In regard to your defense of America, I would have to say that I would never want you to defend immoral principles on my or any other American's behalf. It's important that when we are wrong, we are justly criticized.
Thank you Guiseppe for your support of Obama and thank you for kindness about America! You were right, only Obama can bring about the changes we need and restore our global standing! Many Americans love Italy too! Thank you for defending us to your friends and for letting people you meet know of our openess and good country! I love Italy dearly! I'd like to live in Italy one day! Forza Italy!
lets not forget italy is a socialist country, and this guy has no say how our country should be run.god forbid we become a country like italy.and i was born there ,i here all the horror stories.healthcare believe me you dont want to get simple procedure there.its a matter of life and death.and all the good doctors are here in the USA.this guy likes obamas socialistic views, becuase he is one.but they'll denie it and call it democracy.what a croc of shit.GOD BLESS AMERICA
IT is not a crock of shit . . Obama is inspiring and we will NEVER European socialism in the exact same way as Europe . . there will be New models and new paradyms concerning economics and government policy. When people have hope anything is possible. It is maybe YOU who has no hope ?
I agree with you that "isn't totally fair" for Europeans "to hate" Bush. "Hatred" is a bad sentiment per se, and unfortunately there is too much "hatred" in Europe. Too many people in Europe "hate" people just because they don't think or don't look like them. Partly, this is why I moved to the US and live there a long time. Generally speaking, there is less "hatred" in US society. However, as I saw some people in the US hating Bush I see now some hating Obama. He doesn't deserve to be hated!
Dear Giuseppi, you guys HAD a good opportunity, but voted him back in! As I said, I'm undecided (although I think Obama is going to win)...BUT it kind of bugs me that people from other countries are trying to influence OUR vote for OUR country...especially since everything I see from other countries seems to be so one-sided. I don't dig your guy, or the fact that he owns most of the media, BUT he's your guy and I would never try to influence the Italian vote. It's none of my business.
I respectfully disagree that the Italian elections is none of your business. It's everyone's business, like the US elections is everyone's business. We like in a globalized world and every country's politics is everyone's business in the sense that what happens in the USA has an indirect effect on people from Europe, China, Japan, etc. and viceversa. Look at the financial crisis, or at how China is polluting the world, or how the lack of democracy in Russia is creating a new Fascism/Comunism...
Giuseppi, I definitely see your point. As someone that travels to Europe often, I also think Europeans are skewed toward Obama because they hate Bush so much, which isn't totally fair. I'm a registered Democrat, but that kind of stuff really turns me off...That's why I'm undecided! As global as the world is, you can't really understand another person's country unless you've spent time there. I know that you've been here many times, but that is not true for most.
I accidentally misspell your name and I'm illiterate? You wrote the word "American" (a word everyone knows) with a lower case "A". I thought you were a sensable person. Freedom is for everyone...not just for those you agree with. Who ever said we wanted to take over the world? I don't go to Italy because I want it to be like America. I am a proud Italian/American. I'm behind Obama because he's our president...Even though he keeps nominating tax cheats.
My parents are from Italy, and I consider Italy my second home, but I have a difficult time defending Italian politics and politiciaans...HOWEVER, it's not my business...I'm not an Italian citizen. To me Berlusconi...well...it's none of my business, so I'll let you guys run your country without getting my nose into your business. Personally, I'm undecided, but can you see where I'm coming from?
I think I see where you're coming from....You can say that out: Berlusconi is a shame to many Italians, including me. I'm ashamed that he is the Prime Minister of my country. Hopefully, when Obama will be President of the US this will help Italians to get "inspired" by Change and find a good alternative to Berlusconi. Ciao
Grazie infinite! I am coming to Rome the weekend after we elect Barack Obama for a week. I can't wait to come to your country proud of my new president.
well sir my family is from sicily and well i hate to break it to you that obama has a pastor that was jokeing about italian lynchings where they killed and beat italian people in the united states also he called italians garlic nosed and showed racist towards italians and alot jews so please do not vote for obama being italian
Giuseppe, thank you so much for your kind words and for standing up to defend the U.S. to our critics in Italy and elsewhere. We need people like you to explain that not everyone shares the views of our current administration. And hopefully, as you say, we can show the world on November 4 that in fact, the majority of Americans disagree with Bush's policies and we do want real change! I wish to make you an honorary citizen!
Thank you Tina, thank you Jennifer, thank you Cacoune, thank you everybody for your comments. You will make the dream of Obama president happen! Thank you!
I can't tell you how much I agree! Obama's ability to inspire hope and idealism is so refreshing! I also feel, as an American, that it is so necessary that the US begin to repair its tarnished image in the global community, and think that Obama would do such a great job with it. It will be so nice to be able to be proud of my country and my president again!
Thank you for your comments and encouragement! I am voting Obama/Biden. My husband and I share many of the same ideas you stated in your video. I wish we could tell the rest of the world that not all Americans agree with the decisions and actions of our current President and his administration. The biggest way we can do this now is to vote for CHANGE. Go Obama!! in to the future with hope!
From a french who became American citizen by choice in order to be able to vote I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I wish all in the U.S could see the light and not only vote but vote for their country and its future rather than their party! We need many Giuseppe here! LOVE YOU, my friend!
Giuseppe, thank you for your help. Yes, you only expressed your opinion, but it is a real help! I am very grateful to the Europeans who understand that many of us Americans are ashamed of the direction that our country has gone for so may years. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Obama in '08!
Hearing from people like you around the world is very inspiring to us Obama supporters. We are up against some people in this country who dismiss Barack Obama simply because he's black. Doesn't matter that he is a once in a lifetime leader to take us into the 21st century. I pray that there are more of us than them and we will soon know Nov.4th. Thanks again for your views on our upcoming election.
Thank you SO MUCH for your support for Barack Obama ! I have travelled in Europe ( I may visit Italy next year )and I love it there ! Americans like myself are really grateful and appreciative of the support Europeans like yourself give to help elect B. Obama as our next president. Obama /Biden 2008 !
I love Europeans! They know that Americans have been held captive by a cabal who feeds us fear and hate. I wish enough people in the US would know it too.
G8 member, 9.000 soldiers in peace-keeping missions around the world (Balcans, Africa), 3.000 in Afghanistan where it lead the ISAF mission from 2005 to 2006, major contributor to UN budget, large economy, seat of Catholic church... why Obama didn't plan to visit Italy?
If Obama says that he wants to deal with countries involved in Afghanistan he should deal with Italy as well, because it has twice the number of soldiers France has in Afghanistan.
I may understand his embarassment in thinking of ludicrous Mr Berlusconi; however if Afghanistan is the issue, as stated by Obama, he should deal with Italy as well as Germany, UK and France; otherwise he looks like a hypocrite.
It does count but I think part of it comes from Berlusconi and his ties to Bush. It doesn't seem like Silvio supports Obama that much anyway. Only one who ever seemed to push him was Veltroni, which I don't like seeing Obama associated with.
Hey Giuseppe! Thanks for showing some international support for Obama, and to everyone here who are posting from other countries! I really liked this video!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
They should finally tear down the Coliseum and put in one with a retracting roof and more luxury boxes. The old Coliseum is so dated and I think is preventing Rome from getting a baseball or NFL team.
How much I agree with you. I live in England, rather Poodle Land! The Obama message is just what the World is waiting for. Hillary must step down now.
obama will be our president!! we got enough with this bush**! no more republicans in the white house!!! the world can't allow them to come back next year!! think people think!! we need a big change!!!! enough is enough!! george w bush head is full of gas, oil, petrolleum anything that have to do with stilling money from the poors!!
I totally agree. From the view of the wider world, an Obama presidency is exactly the remedy America needs to re-invent itself and to reestablish its role as the leader of the world. Americans will probably be more preoccupied with its internal issues when making its choice oc President, but they should not underestimate the global impact of their choice. And they should NOT miss this historic chance to change itself, and the world.
romantic? "You may say I'm a dreamer?" Stop thinking all in the World is just capitalism, money, don't care about killing the nature and "under the law of the strongest" - well,THAT'S ONLY STUPID, NOT REALISTIC. Let's Obama being the President of the US and something could change everywhere in the World, even in our old Italy.. let's pass over the suspicions, the race divisions, keeping our personal traditions and culture in our hearts and facing social problems leaded by SKILLED politicans like him
This video made me cry. I truly thank YOU for this and for being TRUTHFUL & HONEST in everything that you stated here. This is NON BIASED at it's finest! I pray that America wakes up and give the WORLD change that will come INSTANTLY and as a WORLD we can move towards UNITY and protect the PLANET which ULTIMATELY protects all of us and includes US!
Thanks for such a nice and thoughtful message Guiseppe. I am a voter from Texas and can not wait to vote for Barack Obama in my state's primary on the 21st. There is a huge base of Obama supporters in my state. YES WE CAN!
Well said Giuseppe. Thats what many people around the world belive. Even here from Sweden many people including the Prime minister support Mr. Obama. He inspires not only america but rather the whole world. Thanks Obama, the whole world support you. God bless.
Good job,i do agree with you! However many new immigrants from Asia and South America believe Hillary will be a great President by having the support of Bill Clinton and they foget that Bush the father has been unable to make Bush the son a good President.
I feel and think the same as you! The only way America could restore dignity in the face of other nation is only if OBama becomes President. What many Americans don't undersand is the likes of previous adminstration will not and can not work in our times. Diplomacy is crucial in foreign affair at this point in our time and none of the candidate except Obama can do it. They have too much arrogance for diplomacy and arrogance is a tired style for our time. The change we seek is crucial than ever!
Grazie a te! I know there is a big Italian American community in Philly. Can you try to spread this video in that community? It might have good reception there. Grazie! P.S. People in Italy are pretty excited about Obama!
Hi Giuseppe thanks for your efforts in Baracking the Vote. I live in the East Village and was handing Obama literature yesterday in Tompkins Square Park. I can tell you that your sentiments about Obama in the foreign community are widely held. I had countless foreigners stop and tell me that they couldn't vote in the election (this is NY after all), but would definitely vote for Obama if they could. I am proud to be an American, but I could be prouder, I want to be prouder. Obama '08
giuseppe, you seem nice. bush sucks. the politics in America sucks. obama seems like a cool guy. I would like to have him as a friend. but. turning our government into a super liberal socialist organization is bad idea and it goes against what most Americans want. sorry , I can't vote for him. thanks for the kind words about the USA. if you want to be an american you're welcome. just come over. we can't stop anyone.
incredible!, i am an american college student and have traveled abroad many times (including rome/italy several times) and i LOVE european culture and people. I have seen first hand the degradation of the US image abroad, due to the current horrible agenda and administration. Its sad to see our image plummet from foreigners who used to love our country. That is why I think that one of Obamas greatest abilities (just like Giusseppe's) is his ability to repair our image OVERNIGHT! OBAMA 08
I was so moved by your video. It is awesome to hear that even those in Europe appreciates the importance of Obama's presence in the White House! I will ensure that it gets wide dissemination in my community. Robbie
Great video, and a very cogent, solid argument for Obama's candidacy. I agree with you completely, and it saddens me how poorly the US is perceived abroad. Ciao!

What about Italy?
G8 member, 9.000 soldiers in peace-keeping missions around the world (Balcans, Africa), 3.000 in Afghanistan where it lead the ISAF mission from 2005 to 2006, major contributor to UN budget, large economy, seat of Catholic church... why Obama didn't plan to visit Italy?
lorpre87 3 years ago
Because Italy doesn't count very much on an international political level, unfortunately.
giuseppemicheletta 3 years ago
If Obama says that he wants to deal with countries involved in Afghanistan he should deal with Italy as well, because it has twice the number of soldiers France has in Afghanistan.
I may understand his embarassment in thinking of ludicrous Mr Berlusconi; however if Afghanistan is the issue, as stated by Obama, he should deal with Italy as well as Germany, UK and France; otherwise he looks like a hypocrite.
lorpre87 3 years ago
yes it does count!
GabWillshirebeverly 3 years ago
It does count but I think part of it comes from Berlusconi and his ties to Bush. It doesn't seem like Silvio supports Obama that much anyway. Only one who ever seemed to push him was Veltroni, which I don't like seeing Obama associated with.

They should finally tear down the Coliseum and put in one with a retracting roof and more luxury boxes. The old Coliseum is so dated and I think is preventing Rome from getting a baseball or NFL team.

OBAMA 08
