DJ is a great player is the main reason for the success the most recent yankee dynasty has had he's carried the team on his back when a-rod sucked, especially in 06 and in the playoffs DJ and Jorge posada were the only good hitters the rest of the team batted in the .100's

Talk baseball from your mouth, not your rear end. He was the main reason why we lost in the playoffs last year 2007 ,with 3 double plays in the 7th inning while we were trailing by 3 runs. This year hes leading the AL EAST in double plays with 19, and i haven't heard much from him about baseball this year except Jeters ford challenge.WHat he's done in the past does not make up or what hes done with the team lately.But if Arod screws up, everyone will get after him even though he won 2 bat titles

arod proved he can hit during the regular season, and as he proved last year clutch too. BUT not in the postseson and thats where jeters gained his respect and why hes revered by TRUE yankee fans. if it wasnt for jeter theyd only have 22 championships. forget about jeters offense and defense being in mire this season, every yankee in that offense this year is not up to expectations

Now i know that you know nothing about baseball.Jeter avg in last year playoff was 133 just incase you didn't know,Arod 267.

Now Derek is not the reason why Yankees won 4 championships,It's only Jim Leyritz in 1996 who changed the whole series around with 3 run home-run 8th inning in 1996,1998 players like Paul O Neill,Bernie, Posada,Girardi,Cone Strawberry, and then Jeter.1999 w/Scott Brosius who was our best post season hitter. 2000 was Jeter no doubt other then that he is good but not great.

I wonder why Jeter never gets blamed for the teams loss ever, hes leading the American league in double plays with 19, had 3 crucial double plays against the Indians in the playoffs last year of 2007 most importantly in the 8th inning and was averaging 133, and this year hes averaging just shy above 280. Hes an easy going captain, and a softy who does not possess any leadership qualities like Paul O Neill. What hes accomplished before, should not take away of what hes done quite lately with dp.
