You guys are welcome to your opinions but Mike Portnoy is NOT overrated and Mike Mangini is on a whole different level than any of the drummers mentioned here... Dream Theater upgraded big time with Jordan Rudess who replaced Kevin Moore/Derek Sherinian and they did the same with Mike Mangini even though they invited 7 other drummers to try out it was over after Mike tried out

@Darjia Yeah..They (DT) had selected Mangini before any of the others tried out. Marco Minneman absolutely SMOKED Mangini's ASS in that audition!!!!! It wasn't even close!!! But I agree Mangini is the best choice for Dream Theater though.

Personally i think Danny Carey can eat Mike Portnoy for breakfast. and there are tons of great drummers that can easily compete, Mike Mangini is a fantastic drummer and I can garantee you that most people havent even heard of him until he joined DT.
