I didn't have much trouble with red eye We had 2 dudes with the cannon me and another dude in the osprey me and the other dude in the osprey did actually do more damage to red eye than the cannon ^^

Red Eye is considered the hardest boss in the game but also a fan favorite trust me its hard i died twice on easy just because i could not get his pattern of attack but i figured it out.

Red Eye, according to the Lost Planet Wiki, is the biggest Cat-G in the Lost Planet Series so far...Dwarfed only by the Over-G...

Who knows..? Maybe when they make Lost Planet 3 in 3-4 years from now, we'll see much bigger Cat-G akrids that would make him look like a midget...

I found it is actualy easier to kill the thing with the canon if you don't use the bullets laying around on the ground but use charged up armor piercing bullets you can get from the crane on the back of the gun. On normal, three hits from those shells half killed it. Plus got a nice visual of seeing half of its hide blown off.

I played with bots and they did absolutely nothing except falling off the train and dying. It doesn't require teamwork to beat this ass worm akrid.

I beat the boss on my first try with one of my friends. You DO need teamwork to kill it. Don't do it with AIs because like you said, they don't help much. do it with real people.

You can kill it by simply staying under and popping the eyes on both it's sides with the turret guns...

When he's about to swallow the train upon getting his life reduced to less than 10% (you'll see a message saying 'one more hit!'), quickly climb up to the top and shoot the hungry f*cker right in the bloody mouth with a well-energized shot from the the train cannon...

Well, that's a really cheap way of doing it and it just ruins the whole teamwork aspect toof the game. The cannon takes a lot of teamwork to operate easily and that's the best way to do it the way i see it. Having to work with your friends is the way to go.

I have not forgotten the team work aspect of the game...When my friends are online, we kill the bastard together and usually in under 15 minutes...

If you can't find anyone else, it's the only way to do it without going up and down...

Oh, and this probably applies to people who rely on AI team members...

If you have the Injection Gun II and a Plasma Cannon, you can turn the hungry f*cker into fried akrid by yourself even faster...

Besides, sometimes there's a time you want to get all the goodies to yourself without any help...

I tried killing him in hard and while it took a while because he has so much more HP/defense, I felt real good when my career points when over 10000...

Well, that's probably because I have the "Superstar" ability equipped...

Me too...Most of the time, the people I team up with don't take advantage of that and try to figure out where Red Eye might appear and end up falling off the train...

Hard Mode, I usually just tell them to come to the engine room if we have 1000 BG left...Otherwise it's that long repeat of trying to get on the train again...

You should turn the Main Cannon first at the start so it's facing behind the train since Red Eye will always appear there after the 'one more hit!' note...

@AzureXuchilbara me and my freinds were never the teamwork type of group we were more of a "wtf is dat shoot it kill em dead!!!' type of people but then we learned how to be calmed and controlled and take em down and thats how we play everyday now thanks 2 red eye 4 example the time we beat him i was da one in the railway gun issac was getting bullets and his cousin was cooling the engine things down, THANKS RED EYE!!!!!!

He's the reason me and my friends turned from gung-ho maniacs into cunning assassins...And we play on hard all the time now~

Same goes for Akrid X...Two of us would focus on his head while the other two would focus on his leg...

We managed to kick both of those Cat-G's by pure teamwork...

Back then, I couldn't kill Akrid X without dying at least 3 times, but now I never die...

When you play in solo you get a lot of experience so you could kill it dying 0 times.

I killed this monster in solo with the 3 IA in extreme with the superstar ability. No unsolvable. And in 13 minutes, just use the hand cannon gun SP

I did too...Manned the turrets on the lest and right side and popped out all it's 'eyes' myself before going up to the Main Cannon when I saw the "One More Hit!" phrase on the screen and shot the hungry f*cker dead...

I don't really use the SuperStar ability anymore since I'm already LV. 99 (F.F. and F.J.)...

I use Energy Master II instead, since I rely on my Energy Weapons (sans Gunblade SP) to finish every mission on Extreme with or without friends...

Blow all the eyes on it's sides and then when you see the 'One More Hit!' phrase on the screen, go up to the big gun on top of the train and shoot the hungry f*cker right in the mouth for a 'Bullseye!" in game gold medal and a crapload of [?] boxes...

Wow. It's like Jhen Moran from Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The Red Eye fight is similar to the Jhen Mohran fight in the concept of you are in the desert on a speeding craft going after a huge creature, not to mention you have to load ammo into the weaponry docked to the crafts.

@22339944 the idea was since they had... gears of war Mark and Dom in it, why not build a map for them and and they use the worm and train... for the monster hunter in the ps3 they have the jungle, and for the... kill zone guys the second part of the game when you use submarines in a big city,, and for Wesker the map with lots of akrid experiments,, those are map ideas from all of them read the info in how the game was build :)
