Who the fuck cares if he's on "pitch." Just enjoy it for what it is. Unless he is just absolutely fucking awful, leave it alone. We're not tone-deaf. We can hear how he sounds, and if we like it a little "pitchy" then just be quiet.

I hate Randy Jackson for introducing America to the idea of pitch and being "pitchy". Just because you don't like something, doesn't make it "pitchy". His pitch is pretty good throughout the whole performance. If you dislike his singing style fine, if you like that he's gay - fine, if you dislike him covering songs - fine, if you dislike his jacket - fine.

But please don't say it's pitchy because you don't know how else to critique it and want to sound smart.

@gferrick yes, pitch problems, Judy put her heart and soul into each one of these songs, and I think I could get past this, however there is no emotion, which doesn't honour the music. I like to say something postive, so I like the orchestra, and arrangements!

for the "when you're smiling" part especially, he's about 1/8 of a tone under.

Listen to the tonal control of Indian singers, especially those who do "ghazals".

You'll see the difference.

Judy is turning over in her grave. Why is he doing this? We already have Judy at Carnegie Hall recorded,  and it's a classic. He is so self-conscious and sings flat, it makes me squirm. Yuk!

Judy's was excellent, and though I appreciate he is paying tribute to her, his misses the mark...and he also singing slightly flat, which is fine for his original stuff but he sounds like he's on valium...I will say he looks good, and the orchestra/arrangements are great though!!!
