  • Iwas so sad to see how james looked here, and its pretty clear that he is in need of money.

  • Everyone having the "Boxing vs. MMA" debate need to realize that it's DEAD, and simply exposes a one-dimensional mentality. Get over yourselves and your egos. MMA clearly brings out the best of all worlds. Boxing is an incredible and essential style that contributes to MMA. It's as simple as that.

  • Lmao, Toney was well past his prime when he went to UFC..........GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

  • mma and boxing, two different sport... really. on my opinion, a boxer has lil chance against a mid level mma fighter(mma rules), also, an mma fighter will get beaten by a mid level boxer(boxing rules). IMHO

  • Couture made beating up a African American legend look easy !

  • joe rogan knows fuck all about fighting! "james tomey is one of the most skilled fighters to ever fight in boxing" thats a fuckin lie he was a shit boxer and there hasnt been a good heavyweight since lennox lewis, they are all chumps

  • @Troglob1te You obviously know less than Joe Rogan about fighting because James is a top 75 to 100 all-time boxer and a first ballot hall of famer. You need to be schooled in boxing if you think he was "shit". SMH at people like you who think they know boxing. Stick to watching dudes roll around in their underwear.

  • @crj303030 for a start pawps boxins dead! they havnt had a good boxing match in 15 years ffs toney was ony at top of his game cuz he fought chumps he got fucked up by coture in ufc so how bout u eat some humble pie and take your shitty opinionated facts and stick em where the sun dont shine. toney obviously sees no problem in rolling round in his underwear getting choked out so whats your problem? afraid by watching you might get aroused btw i watch for the blood not to see who has best kex!

  • @crj303030 Why are you boxing fucks talking shit. I'm so tired of hearing that whole homophobic shit. Learn something else before you fags bring up some gay shit that has nothing to do with the sport.

  • @crj303030 James was not anywhere near his prime in this fight, nor is he a natural heavyweight. This is why he needed to bloat himself up to fight at such a weight category. Yes, he was a great boxer, but had no clue how to adapt his boxing to an MMA type of situation. His arrogance ultimately bit him in the ass. Is it possible for a boxer to do well in MMA? Not unless they become a Mixed Martial Artist.

  • @EnjoiningKnowlege I think that lot of people misjudge Toney because they forget how good he was in boxing.

  • I was pissed that Randy didn't REALLY pound his face in for a couple of rounds!!

  • The most feared man in boxing? I know 145 pounders that will smash him to bits.

  • @IMA60SKID - You have to remember that James Toney is now a troll. He's a pretty good troll, too.

  • ok so now there saying ufc fighter are better then boxers ok just because this guy use to be a good boxer dont mean he still is hes all fat and can barely move that fat shit made boxers look bad and mma look good.. put pacquiao in there guaranteed hed fuck shit upp

  • The reason pure boxing is negated in the Octagon is because fighters aren't pulled apart when they clinch. The reason that grappling works is because strikes to the back of the head while attempting a takedown are banned. So the natural recourse of a boxer to strike at the opponents head, is removed. With so much of the rules in the ocatgon skewed to the advantage of a grappler its no wonder that Toney lost.

  • DONT BLAIM BOXING FOR THIS......havent u guyz ever herd of a pay check lol thats the onley reoson why toney did that he didnt even take it seriousley

  • boxing is only a small part of mma, most mma fighters dont know shit about boxing.

  • Lesson learned. You ain't so bad. A real life fight would be like MMA NOT boxing.

  • James is drunk fat and bruised up. He shouldn't have been stupid. Randy on the other hand is smart and won't to go to a boxing ring. TONY WANTED INTO THE OCTAGON. Ego fag

  • Guys, guys, please! @TheRey4you's post was like 8 months ago! He probably doesn't even remember posting that comment o.O

  • I wanna see rematch James Toney vs Randy Couture in boxing !!! James went in Couture's ring without any fear now I wont see Couture in Jameses ring !!!

  • vs? theres nothing here... just talk. remove this fkin channel from ytube

  • That's what you get for trash talking a legend.

  • James Toney said he's the dark emperor. Does he mean Dark Vader?

  • If there were no subtitles on what Toney says - I would not understand shit )))

  • I am a boxing fan but I have all the respect in the world for the MMA. There is nothing wrong with the MMA and it should not be the MMA fault why boxing ratings across the board are dead..Like Tyson said Until boxing has its next flamboyant/loud mouth/or villain Heavy Weight champion once again like ALi and Tyson, MMA will run the show. There maybe one event thought which will break all records and that is if Floyd and Manny fight

  • SHAWN DESMAN IS WHITE??????

  • You think a punch is coming but nope its an elbow. its easier to fight but harder to fight back. In Boxing it's harder to fight, and easier to fight back because everyone is doing one thing...punching. Now, which one is better? Hard to compare, because they are different sports. Which one would you want on your side in a bar fight? Probably the Boxer. Who would you want on your side in a street/alley fight? Probably the MMA fighter. Who would you want to fight if you had to? Neither.

  • Prize fighter boxers except for Pac-man are known to have BIG heads and pretty disrespectful to other fighters. Toney was born with fighting in his genetics...he didn't have to practice like so many other prize fighters had to...Freddy Roach still regards Toney as one of his better fighters where fighting came natural. But thats what killed Tony. MMA is creative. You have to be ready for anything..

  • James Toney had no business getting in the octagon with an experienced and highly regarded "street fighter". But the same goes for Randy Couture; he has no business getting in the boxing ring with an experienced and highly regarded boxer. The only difference is that I think Couture understood this, so he took advantage and welcomed Toney onto his fighting ground. The one thing i wish Boxing had which UFC has is Respectful and somewhat humble fighters, with the exception of some.

  • Mma is becoming more popular unfortunately. but the amount of money in it is nothing compared to the money that boxing, an older promoted sport, has in it. "Money" Mayweather could buy UFC and have some change to spare. And he is just one boxer. The only okay boxer in the MMA is probably BJ Penn. he is the only one that i have seen who could maybe start a boxing career. likewise i doubt any boxers except for maybe pacman could be mma fighters takes alot more creativity to be a mma fighter.

  • i fuckin hate when people try to compare boxing and mma to one another...they are two totally different sports.. mma incorporates not just one single fighting style. you have to be good or great at one martial art and okay at another martial art. In boxing its one martial art. you have to be perfect at it to compete at a higher level a prize level. two totally different sports that require fighters to have the balls to get in the ring with the possibilty of not walking back out

  • Did that dumb ass white trash really say that James Toney is one of the most skilled boxers ever? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ali, Louis, Marciano, Dempsey, Foreman, Frazier, Holmes, Norton, Liston, Tyson, Lewis, or even the fucking Klitschkos would have used that fat fuck James Toney as toilet paper. White trash knows nothing about boxing.

  • @JamesWilliamsDallas

Do you only know really famous heavyweight boxers?

A lot of people you listed really weren't that great either.

  • @1878EFC2008

I can list 100 more that are 10 times greater than that fat fuck James Toney.

  • @JamesWilliamsDallas None of those guys are/were more skilled than Toney

  • mma is shit

  • @tupachussain boxing is lame

  • everybody knows if an mma fighter goes to boxing he would get his ass kicked.....everybody knows if a boxer goes into mma he would get his ass kicked....there is no way to compare the two except for the fact boxing has generated WAY more money

  • randy would die if he couldnt hold

  • A boxer job is to punch people, not just to punch people. They painfully cut weight,so they can skillfully punch people .It's like sharpening a knife. For a boxer to win, skill, speed, strength and tactics is needed.A boxer must have all this.if a boxer lost one of it,boxer can never win(sorry for my bad english)

  • how about we going in the boxing ring as well as the octogon... that would prove boxers are better strikers... but obviuosly not a mma fighter......who goes ground...so like toney said...theyre scared to come to my home,,, ill come to theirs.... whos in line to go to the boxing ring to prove ufc has great strikers...any volunteers...........i didnt thinnk so...

  • @walkero4life562 would the mma fighter be able to knee elbow or kick of course not your not talking striking your talking one aspect of striking and thats punching and no mma fan would deny that boxers are the best punchers in the world are they the best fighters no they are not clearly mma fighters cant afford to over specialize because if they do they will have a weakness that will be exploited as i said no one is arguing that boxers arent the best punchers in combat sports

  • @jaimedancosmo i never said that, im saying boxing is a different sport, therfore you can not even compare fighters,,, mma and boxing 2 different sports....i guess when you only have so much to type you really cant specify.... but much respect to both sports.....

  • Toney has been out of shape for years. This is all bullshit.

  • @seraph101 yea just like tim sylvia was on like a 3 fight losing streak when merciless ray ko'd him. so i guess both sides can shut up

  • if boxers picked the matchups and went into a ufc fight and ufc picked a ufc to fight a boxer in the boxing ring a fighter like anderson silva or bjpenn would survive almost always the boxer with picked matchups will lose in the ring

  • exactly .. ''boxers always come in the mma .. we dont see any mma fighter that has the balls to come in to a boxing ring . boxers have HEARTS '' fact! whether they loose or win in a cage ... atleast they are not scared to come in your house and fight ! and boxing not part of a small part of mixed martial arts cus mma fighters cant box . fact! they just punch like regular people.even mayweathers son strikes accurately so how can a mma fighter think that boxing is part of mma .. dumbos

  • @TheRey4you People dont think that and you are right a boxer would beat any/most mma fighters in a boxing ring but dont say they dont have heart there has been wars in the octagon just like there has been in the ring, but to face reality boxing is a dying sport, there is a new level of fighting and that is MMA, not looking to start a youtube fight im just stating my opinion.

  • @PoinTBeAsTz i tottally agree i done a lil boxing in school and judo but i always used my judo skills when i got into a fight :). i found it easier to take my opponent down and scramble to my feet and let my feet do the rest. that way i saved my hands too :)

  • @TheRey4you thats because you can still box in mma there are no rules stopping a boxer from boxing in mma what ur saying is mma should compete in an arena where they are not allowed to use some of there biggest weapons and u cant see how ur argument is redundant, and if mma fighters striking is so bad it must prove grappling to be the dominant combat art seeing as tho boxers with there punching that is light years ahead of any mma fighter cant buy a win in an mma fight

  • @jaimedancosmo

I agree with you but that doesn't mean MMA is better. It's a different sport, Apples and Oranges. James Toney wasn't too bright, because I believe an elite Boxer would thrive in MMA if he had good take down defense and knew how to evade or check kicks like Chuck Liddell in his prime. People saying Boxers would never succeed in MMA don't know that they are talking about.

  • @TheNakkuruzu if a boxer does learn takedown defence and submission defence is he still a boxer or an mma fighter with world class boxing think about it wrestling boxing muay thai judo bjj its all martial arts and mma is the most pure arena to showcase all forms of combat for me boxing is incomplete and i find it frustrating to watch but ive watched some mma fights that left me feeling the same lol so watch em all combat fans peace

  • @jaimedancosmo

I personally think he would still be a boxer. He is just defending the other techniques used at him thus forcing the opponent to stand up and fight strike him. I obviously don't think boxing is complete because a boxer has to use his complete body. Boxers use their legs, their hips their entire torso when they throw a punch. I'm not quite sure why you would think it's incomplete. Like I said Apples and Oranges, just do what I do, be a fan of both if you want lol.

  • @TheNakkuruzu I agree with both of you mma and boxing cant be compared but i personally think if a boxer learned take down defense and etc he would be a mixed martial artist. you basically get a junior dos santos But i mean if you put an mma guy in a boxing ring hed still get raped but at least he has a decently fair chance to fight back unlike the other way around where boxers have no clue what a takedown is so i mean dunno why ppl compare the two mma is too broad for pure boxers

  • @jaimedancosmo um, thats because boxers make a lot more money in the ring. Any primetime boxer would own these pugs. MMA is for fags, fullstop. Never wrestle with a chimney sweep is what may Grandma told me, as they make you all dirty even when you win. Boxing is the Best. MMA is for gays,

  • @jaimedancosmo Thats because they dont have any take down defence....look and chuck lidell he had brilliant take down defence and not even that good of hands but he had hard hitting hands and didnt let anyone take him down in his prime and knocked everyone out...if u have good takedown defence it wouldnt take much to knockout an average ufc fighter

  • @dferhadi94 chuck lidell was an ncaa wrestler a brown belt in bjj you dont get good take down defence from 1 or even 2 years of training any boxer would need to retrain there footwork and there stance to remain on there feet and if they change these things can they still punch well which is why mma guys cant just train boxing or muay thai or any other stricking art because it needs to be adapted for mma

  • @jaimedancosmo im not talking about bjj, im talking pure takedown defence, his wrestling probably played a huge part but im saying if somone spent months trainging about 20 hours a week on only takedown defence like toney probably shouldve done he probably would have knocked him out, toney isnt that athletic hes washed up hes still got boxing still but not enough reaction time

  • @dferhadi94 pure takedown defense requires a change in stance besides chuck wasnt just good at stopping takedowns he was also great at getting back to his feet but to say months of training takedown defence is enough to stop a wrestler of randy coutures caliber from taking you down is as insulting as saying if a wrestler learns months of punch defence he can hang with vladamir klitchko

  • @dferhadi94 and another thing as soon as a boxer starts to learn takedown defense and submision defense and kick and knee defense and clinch work they are no longer boxers they would be mma fighters with world class boxing and people have to remember the sport is still an infant by comparison mma fighters hands are going to continue to get better and soon you will see world class boxers with bjj blackbelts and wrestling pedergree peace

  • @jaimedancosmo no they become a boxer with world class take down defence, mma fighters hands probably wont get better because of their dependance on grappling and just the nature of most fighters. theyre just street fighters who have good grappling skills or else theyd become boxers, why have good hand skills and be an mma fighter when u can make 10x as much money as a boxer? it doesnt make seense thats why mma fighters will always have mediocre punching skills

  • @dferhadi94 let me spell it out for you to defend a tecnique you have to learn the tecnique so you cant defend wrestling without learning wrestling you cant defend submissions with out learning submissions so if you learn submissions wrestling and you can already box your an mma fighter its not rocket science and boxers make more money now thats changing due to fight fans interest changing which is why boxing commisioners continue to insult mma hell even hopkins has changed his tune on mma

  • @jaimedancosmo no they dont learn wrestling they learn a certain aspect thats takedowns, u dont need to learn submissions because there arent going to be any if u learn the right takedowns, boxing had been around for thousands of years and has been a popular commissioning sport for hundreds, ufc started out as raw mma championship but then they decided to add gloves, cutmen, rounds, rules and regulations, and a bunch of other boxing guidelines..boxing will be around forever, its human nature.

  • @dferhadi94 again you need to know how to wrestle to defend takedowns name one fighter in mma with great takedown defense that doesnt have a background in wrestling and no sub d your crazy an elite bjj player will just pull guard sweep and sub and if you had spent any time on the mat youd know this guys with no bjj get clowned by high level white belts let alone a black belt world champ like demian maia seriously mma fighters are awsome athletes that deserve a lot more respect than your giving

  • @jaimedancosmo MMA fighters don't have nearly as bad striking skills as many like to argue. Striking is an essential part of MMA, as is grappling. I know you realize this, and are simply stating the consequence of TheRey4you's logic, however, for everyone else: take a look at BJ Penn, and Dos Santos' Boxing (for MMA). They've adapted it quite nicely. Also take a look at Overeem and his solid striking background. The better you are at it all, the better of an MMA fighter you will be. Simple.

  • @EnjoiningKnowlege awesome point should also mention big nog was a pro champ in brazil as was vitor belfort chris lytle was an indiana state champ and marcus davis had a pro boxing career as well

  • @TheRey4you because mma is real fighting

  • @MrBigenstien whats boxing then keyboard rage prick

  • Respond to this video... james toney is a bad example especially putting him against randy couture

  • @TheRey4you jaimedancosmo just raped your ass.

  • @TheRey4you MMA IS A REAL MAN'S SPORT WHERE YOU CAN USE YOUR WHOLE POTENTIAL AS A FIGHTER ! MMA OVER BOXING ANY DAY !

  • @TheRey4you The striking becomes very different in MMA because the threat of knowing you can be attacked in different shapes and forms. Boxers are of course better punchers, that's the only way you can strike in boxing. Therefore all you need to learn offensively and defensively. But when you add the threat of take downs, kicks, knees, and elbows just from stand up, you realize boxing is a very small aspect of fighting. By the way I love boxing but I'm just being honest.

  • @TheRey4you ye, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about, no offence or anything towards boxing, but there's lots of people that learn boxing and make it into a part of their MMA career, you just contradicted yourself when you say "boxers always come in the mma.." you dumbshit

  • @TheRey4you Shut the fuck up bitch.

  • @TheRey4you Its all martial arts fool. Its all about who would win in the cage or the street. Boxers just dont have a complete game and are not the ultimate fighters

  • @TheRey4you we might not be able to jump rope as good as a boxer, but we will whoop your ass. and THAT is what fighting is about.

  • @TheRey4you

who wants to box when you can fight? boxing is fucking pathetic, misleading people into thinking they can fight. boxing will die out cos no young'n's want to do it anymore not now theres mma. boxing faggots hahaha

  • @ghostface2006 Hey douchebag: It's clear that MMA involves highly trained, respectable fighters. However, don't degrade another incredible sport, which requires exceptional athleticism, training, will power, heart, toughness, skill, and fighting ability. Sure, a boxer is not a complete fighter, but a formidable fighter nonetheless. I'm disgusted by douchebags who happen to be boxers, who diss MMA. I'm equally disgusted by douchebags like you.

  • @EnjoiningKnowlege dont mind me im just a troll

  • i wonder if they gave them scripts to read for this fight preview just to pump up the audience.

  • I knind of feel sorry for this stupid negro Toney !
