very good character animations, plot, dialogues, graphics.. finished 3 days ago, certainly one of the best games ive played in all my life.. and now time for ME 2
Bioware employees have commented on the third saying that it would be a culmination of your past decisions in ME 1 & 2 and the game will ensue with (i kid you not) a wide variety of endings all based upon your characters current and past actions... example if destiny ascension is destroyed it won't be in a battle that will possibly save a planet.. or if you act as a force for evil.. species will not unite under you and fight as a whole... sounds exciting and political
I guess protians build the Reapers, and their machines turned on them in time. And now they are lying around everything what they can. Maybe it's the same story just like between the quarians and geths. But that's just a tip. :p
I'm not sure if the story is better, but it is grander. The second game suffers from lack of a strong villain. Mass Effect had two very strong and varied. One truly malignant (Sovereign) and one rather tragic antagonist (Sarren).
The second game has only the enigmatic "Harbinger", who never makes a proper appearance.
The ending of the second game, however, was better than the first. What a thrill ride that was the first time I played it.
Well, I think I like the Missions better. Especially going to Illos and meeting Vigil. You learn more and more throughout Mass Effect 1. In Mass Effect 2, You basically know everything from the start.
Well Mass Effect 1 is all about learning of the universe in which the story takes place. Mass Effect 2 takes time to more closely investigate the characters that inhabit that universe. You learn much more about your crew, even old friends like Tali and Garrus, in the second game.
The first game is about the setting, the second game is about the characters.
@snoman99991 In ME2 you can unite the Quarrians by settling their in-fighting over the Geth. You can unite the Krogan if you've saved Wrex. You can unite the Geth by defeating Heretics'.
The Rachnei, if you spared the queen in Mass Effect 1, also swear to "join their voices with yours and defeat those that soured the songs of their mothers".. The Galaxy has been uniting. The ground-work has been laid down over the course of the past two games and that will likely snowball in the third.
@iksarguards The third will most likely be chasing down leads to better defends themselves and visiting home planets. (Paladin > Turians, Thessia > Asari.)
hey maybe even go to the Hanar homeworld and get a cure for Thane!
@iksarguards wow, that was put perfectly! I always thought that the second game was a crap out on the story, but I learned allot more about the mass effect universe. Thanks for that, no sarcasm intended.

Pity there isn't a "Jack O'Neill" option on the dialog wheel. ;-)

We have dismissed that claim.

I guess Sovereign lied. Maybe it's just the same story like between the quarians and geths.

Do you imagine then, that the third game is about the race to unite the galaxy? I hope so.

Then the Reapers will go directly to Earth.
