  • FOR ME SNES VERSION THEN NES & THEN SEGA GENESIS

  • La versión de NES es mucho mejor que la de Genesis o la del Super Nintendo.

  • I dont know what the others are talking about with the genisis being best or SNES is best. I'm thinking NES FTW. But only cause I liked the gameplay and music more. Plus the NES controller is awesome.

  • Famicom/NES pwnz!

Btw, even after they were discontinued there's still a huge clone army of them.

  • I didnt no their was an nes version... Im glad u showed me that version... Nice comparsion video...

  • Snes all the way. It's a much better system than the Mega drive to me.

  • super nintendo, sega genisis when i was ded broke man i cudnt picture dis

  • Sega wasn't a console, lol.

  • Whoa. I owned all 3, and I usually didn't take sides, as all 3 systems were amazing......but the SNES version totally destroys the Genesis and NES version. Of course the NES can't truly compete with its more powerful successor though.

  • I played both Genesis and the Snes versions and I pick the Genesis big time. The Snes version is way to hard and cheap.

  • music : sega

graphics : sega ( compare sonic 3 graphics with that game T_T)

    gameplay : all

  • Sega awesome sound chip and faster frame rate

Snes better graphics and good rock

Nes for just hangin on hell ya!!!

  • NES - tiny helicopter

    SEGA - no helicopter

    SNES - LARGE helicopter

  • some people have a hard time figuring out which one is which

Which one looks like crap and sounds like crap. the first clip. NES.

Which one looks better but is missing some colors in their work. the second clip. GENESIS

Which one had a team that put more work in the quality so that people like CleetusSilversurfer rate them first. SNES!!!

also to people who say that the snes is bigger.... now you can see what your doing.

  • the number is sega, nes number 2 and snes number 3 i like sega

  • Snes version(Y)

And the music! It's so cool that it's beyond reality!

  • NES version had a lot of production put into it.

Genesis vwersion was just a port of that one.

    But SNES version... is AWESOME!

In my opinion: 1º SNES version 2º NES version iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii3º Genesis version iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • @AlexKadin

Damn YouTube! I had built a podium with "i"s, but it got f*cked up.

  • NES WINS!

  • why was sega emulated on much lower resolution?

  • Snes WINS! :

    Best Graphics

    Best Gameplay

    Best Sound

    Best Animation

  • @LuisFullRocket The gameplay is horrible on the snes, but the music is very nice

  • Snes Wins:

    Best Sound

    Best Graphics

    Best Gameplay

  • SNES WINS!

  • Sega wins ! u're gay cuz u played with billy all the time..batlletoads rule..play with them..

  • SNES! its simply awesome. sega was no-match compared to nintendo... less games, less fun. anyway, the NES deserves a big WOW.

  • NES - wins

  • FUCK!!!

The sgea version only had better music at the begging, but while playing, SNES and NES has alot better sound effects and music!!

The Sega is like.. "Buph.. Bufh" when fighting.. The music is crap too

  • 1.- SNES

    2. SEGA Mega Drive (genesis)

    3.- NES

  • SNES failed, only graphics are good, but the gameplay is fucking horrible compare to the NES

And Sega is just failed too, its like snes just with worse music

NES Dont have best graphics, but hey gameplay is just awesome!

  • Deffenly the Nes. Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Captain Tsubasa are were better than the SNES versions. 16 bit my ass

  • Go Snes!

  • I vote for NES because toads are like the original battletoads

  • I kind of prefer the NES version. It IS the original version, after all.

  • chuck norris!!!

  • 8 bits = MASTER SYSTEM / 16 BITS =SNES

Sounds und 8-Bit-Spiele, ziehe ich den Master-System. 16-Bit-Patronen, ziehe ich den SNES! Respektieren jedermanns Meinung.

  • NES IS THE BEST !!!

  • I'm sorry but sega does what NINTENDON'T!

  • sega version is the fucking tits, it was my favourite game to play back when I was a kid.

  • The SNES version was sped up personally I would get the NES for the retro look, but paying twice the price for the same game. I suppose if you have all three I would buy the SEGA I just don't own a sega.

  • Why you don't show the intros where it introduces the game characters? In my opinion that's very interesting. Especially for the Nes, knowing that it's an 8 bit system, they really push everything out of that console. Comparing the Nes with the other systems in terms of graphics and music it's obvious that the other consoles have more advantage in memory. In my opinion Nes is the best for this game. *****

  • nes was better all around. everything went with what a game should have. The nes surprisingly was the only one who had a tone for finishing off the boss. i find the music more attracting on the nes. it had music not only for the title but also the intro to the title . This is called detail, something maden nfl lacks.

  • in my opinion the number one is the nes, second snes and third sega, I love the songs in 8-bit

  • WOW! Listening to the SNES verison again i realize how much the music kicks ASS!!! Some real rough shit!

  • NES version is undeniably better lookin and playable than most other NES beat-em ups but what i wanna know which version is better. SNES or GENESIS. I've played both and i sorta like the SNES just alittle bit better cuz of better music/sound.

  • snen is the best one

  • lol i like the audio in the nes version more than i do the genesis one

  • the nes version is also very good it made the most of out of the console.

the snes version had better music and sound effect, the graphics were,nt special, only some mode 7 and why is the spaceship gray in stead of blue.

the genesis version had good graphics, colors and cool fysics!!!

  • 1-snes version is fucking best of all !!!!!

  • snes version of this game are way way advanced than nes or sega genesis, advantage of snes version is audio-cd sound and good looking sprites of charecters and enemyes

  • English or french plz

  • and apart from Spanish to English

  • I don't know what you mean, If you mean spanglish, I don't understand it either.

Just speak in a language that I understand please.

  • @Ericxtest may i translate?

  • @Ericxtest canadian or french?

  • @santi308 nes es el mejor yo dogo

  • @elorguyo IDEM

  • snes owned them all..

  • see I told you first in Spanish and said that if he could be in English or French at the same time my comment would translate for you to understand me

  • 1. SNES

    2. NES

    3. SEGA

  • Sega genesis kicked ass, much better games then both NES and SNES and other games like mortal kombat and Streets of Rage had decent sound

  • my brother had a genesis and i had a super nintendo. they both had good games, especially the exclusive titles like eternal champions and mario kart. plus a developer's ability to program had a lot to do with which system was "better", like i loved mk1 on the genesis because of the more responsive controls, but the snes version of mk2 was superior in every category. it's situationally based, i guess.

  • Games: Sega Genesis

    Graphics: snes

    Sound:Nes

    Music:genesis

All are great systems but i always seem to get bored with the snes compared to my nes and genesis.

  • graphics:SNES

    music:SNES

    sound:NES

  • @cheesekake22 was this after you sucked mario's dick

  • so sony built for its competitor lol sad really

  • actually i think its a complete different style of music in snes vs genesis. Genesis has that cool funky bass going for it snes version has the sweet rock guitar. Completely comes down to taste as to which one is better

  • The snes technically has better sound samples but its my opinion the genesis makes better use of the music. Graphics are better on snes and the sound effects are better but in my opinion the music loses some of its charm on snes.

  • LMAOOOOO SNES OWNED Them both. i dont even have to explain why. a person with a keen eye and ear can see which is the better version.

  • SNES and NES hands down!!!

but music goes to SNES :)

  • @synfuldesires89 Genesis Is The Best

  • Graphics and sound go to NES

Gameplay and diffyculty go to Genesis

    Fun goes to Genesis

Cuz the Genesis was easier and your buddy never got bored playing it. But my friend got pissed off at the SNES version But the music on the SNES was so good its on my IPOD

  • 1.Snes

2.Sega (The sound chip sucks ass.)

    3.NES

  • @CleetusSilversurfer

The Genesis had way better sound than the SNES and it's WAH WAH WAH sounds

  • @Alevamltd

After getting a Genesis, i can agree with you.

  • Gameplay: All

    Graphics: SNES

    Sound: NES

    Music: SNES

I got the SNES version. Maybe that's why I'm giving it so much credit :P

  • When it comes to features, sega wins no doubt. A lot more colorful, boss music, and beaten faces.

  • I say 1: tie between SNES (which I had never seen until now) and Sega Genesis. 2: NES

  • Both are awesome !!

  • Let's see, which version is superior to the others:

    Gameplay: NES

    Soudn effects: NES

Graphics: Sega Genesis (I prefer it)

Music: SNES / Sega Genesis... I realy can't chose, I like 'em equaly. Maybe the SNES versionbecuse its more realistic, but the SNES version has no boss music.

  • I have always loved the sound of the Genesis, and it always amazes me to hear people bash its sound quality. Yeh sure its a synth, wheras the SNES is a sampler.

  • The Sega Genesis used FM Synthesis (Which was used for the FDS' extra channe) and DOS used it too so that's why they sound similar while Sony built the SNES' SPC700 chip.

  • NES VS SEGA MASTER SYSTEM THOUGH:

I think it was closer here...in terms of each systems abilities.......After Burner ruled on the Master system.

  • The SNES had more pluses with the technology easily: more colors, better sound, and just more graphic capability.

The SEGA Genesis was still awesome, and always had a bit more "edgy" games I thought...until MK2 hit the SNES. The sound on SEGA never was as good I thought. But, I did love the system non the less.

  • Are you playing the PAL versions?

  • I'm canadian. So I can't.

  • Then why was the NES version running at a slower pace than the others?

  • I don't know but maybe an 8 bit restriction console don't help I guess.

  • i don't know about you guys but for me the snes version was the hardest and the genesis was the easiest

  • Why?

I can't count how many hearts I have when I finish the Snes game whatever the player I choose.

I can finish the game with the lee brothers on the NES.

I can't finish the game on the genesis platform.

  • Well...though all versions are the same exact game...there are some ups and downs on each one. So, there's not much to it.

  • Wow, the punches on the Sega version sound like a series of silent but deadly farts. The music is horrible as always on the Genesis. The SNES had a way better sound chip. I like the punch sounds the best on the NES. I wish they wouldn't have changed that on the SNES. Definitely Nintendo.

  • I love 8bit sound :-)

  • Well, it's difficult to judge hardly about NES, after all it's only 8 bit, besides, it has the best "kick" version. So NES takes a special place, here as well as in my heart :)

As for Sega and SNES, I'll go with Sega. Sega has good sound and good (unlike SNES) physics. Just watch those flying turrets fall after the last kick. What the hell? The same problem was with Double Dragon V on SNES. So, if Sega perfected NES version, SNES added too many uneccessary things just to make it look "cool".

  • the sega version has boss music, and that badass tune at the beginning

  • SNES Sound are so "SMASHED" SEGA are more but flop sound +1 for sega boss theme but only that--

  • I prefer Sega's. The music just sounds more fluid.

  • Beside the lack of fluidy of the Snes version, caused by the capture program and not by the game itself, is this make a difference between your preferences?

  • that game was way better on the snes

  • as usual the snes versions better :P

  • NES has the best sound quality/music SNES development/quality

  • yea Abobo seems more animated and lifelike in the SNES version, but Sega has more music and it sounds different, and i never owned a SNES so my vote is Sega

  • 1.Genesis

    2.NES

    3.Snes

Snes don't have boss and victory theme =(

  • snes is good but the slowest paced console of the 3,it,s not the slowest but certainly slowest paced, and i agree with this since i hate rpg,s so 70% of snes it library and i feel fraud with snes it,s graphics since it,s only colours and just nothing more no superb animations or what ever.

  • I've beat all 3 versions. And I think what NES version is best!

  • i have only nes but i think snes is best!!!!!!

(I m bad write because i am from russia)

  • not sure i like all 3 but i guess snes would be my vote

  • SEGA is best !

  • is battle toads and double dragon put together a real game?

  • Both Toads & double dragon are from the same developer Rare Ltd.

  • wow i didnt know this game was on the nes

  • Yeah most developers had no idea what they were doing with the Sega Graphics and sound Hardware. Sega, Treasure, Capcom,MCS Corp, Renovation, Compile, Technosoft, Konami, knew what they were doing, but not RARE. Rare just makes a crappy port of the NES version directly to Sega with horrid Sound integration. Oh well.

  • true snes didnt really utilized the genesis snes for the win maybe or genesis, nah nes FTW. the sound on the snes version is good but aggain warbly not straight up.same with battleotads on genesis horrible game.

  • 1.Snes

    2.sega

    3.nes

    :)

  • Oh and SNES's infamous mode 7 (mario kart mode) might be totally lacking in the genesis, but some games out there were programmed well enough to achieve the same thing in software. Toy story on genesis springs to mind, it has an mario kart style stage and a doom style stage. no kidding.

  • I want to correct some of what johnnyponny4 says. First the genesis has a yamaha ym2612 synthesizer chip which sounds similar to a DX7 keyboard - used on countless 1980's hits. The z80 is just a controller and allows some master system backwards compatibility. Second the genesis high resolution mode was 320x448 but i've only ever seen it used on sonic 2 on the 2 player mode. The common mode 320x224 is HIGHER than SNES's common 256x224 mode.

  • SNES was underpowered was because it was made mainly for RPGs, which were far more popular in Japan,& generally have small sprites with little onscreen action, but good visuals & sound, something the SNES excels at. Luckily with cartridges, you can put more memory/processors in the cartridge itself to improve performance, something Nintendo did with S.M. Kart. That big alien at the end of S Contra 4? Really a background, one of SNES's 4 scrolling backgrounds, compared to Genesis' 2 b.grounds.

  • As I said, the SNES was more powerful than the Genesis, but underpowered for the amount of graphic info it had to display. It could display half the Genesis color palette onscreen at once (256) 512x448 pixels resolution, close to twice Genesis' blurry 320x 224. No wonder Nintendo's Final Fight game slowed down when there was more than 3 bad guys onscreen, with that high resolution and those enormous colorful sprites. Sega's Steets of Rage could have 10 baddies onscreen but still no slowdown.

  • Is that opinion can explains also why "WWf wrestlemania the arcade Game" was better on Sega 32X than Snes platform? I guess so

  • The "WWF" game on the 32X is going to be better than the SNES for the obvious reason that the game is being run on more powerful hardware.

But, I was talking of the regular Genesis version of "WWF Royal Rumble," which has problems running correctly on Genesis consoles that don't use discrete chips for the sound (controller processor, FM synthesizer, and PSG).

  • Most mobo revisions for the smaller Genesis used a single chip that integrated some or all of the individual parts required for sound generation into one package.

This was done to cut manufacturing costs since there's less parts needed to buy and mount on the board for the same amount of functioning.

However, those boards can also have compatibility issues, though only with a very small handful of games.

  • Genesis soundchip: 8-bit z80 which had a slight buzz if you listened through headphones, while the SNES had a far superior CD-Quality sound. The Genesis had one more sound channel (9) but voices were very poorly reproduced. Listen to Super Castlevania 4, (amazing orchestral sound) or Super-Off Road (sampled guitar, mindblowing)The SNES had far higher sampling rate. The SNES mode 7 was overhyped, and only worked on backgrounds.Nintendo used it to make big (background) sprites with no slowdown.

  • Good opinion, now I can understand why Super Nintendo is superior that the original Sega Genesis.

If you can give an opinion like this on my vid about wwf wrestlemania, that will be helpful.

  • The Zilog Z80 acted as a controller for the sound chips of the Genesis/Mega Drive.

The sound comes from the Yamaha YM-2612 and a Texas Instruments 4 channel PSG.

As for the "slight buzz," this is dependent on how the mobo was designed and built.

True 1st gen boards tended to have heavy hiss while the revised smaller board for the old-style Genesis had problems with distorted sound.

The newer style Genesis had sound that seemed lacking.

The JVC x'Eye and the CD-X has a very good sound.

  • There are two primary sound chips which are both controlled by the Z80; the Yamaha YM2612 Frequency Modulation (FM) chip and the Texas Instruments SN76489 Programmable Sound Generator (PSG) chip. The FM sound synthesis IC resembles the Yamaha YM2151 (used in Sega's coin-op machines) and the chips used in Yamaha's synthesizers.

  • I believe I just said that, sans specifying the exact model TI PSG and what the YM-2612 resembled.

And, again, the Z80 was a controller; it does not make the actual sounds themselves but controls the chips that do.

  • Very good straight from Wiki:

There are 8 kilobytes of dedicated sound RAM available to the Z80. The Yamaha uses six FM channels, four operators each and runs at 7.67 MHz (7.61 MHz in PAL machines). The use of the digitized audio allows for stereo sound and is output only through the headphone jack on model 1 systems and through AV out on model 2 systems along with mono signal.

Didn't like the later Genesis models with no headphone jacks though, Sega was trying to make the Genesis inexpensive.

  • The Z80 is going to need memory when it receives instructions on how and when to control the sound chips.

As for the Genesis with the phones jack, there were basically two board layouts.

The older board has a heatsink on the upper left while the newer board was streamlined and did away with the heatsink.

And there were two versions of the older board; the first version does not display "Produced by or under license from Sega Enterprises" when you start up with a game.

  • There was also a version of the smaller Genesis that did not have the headphones jack which sported an actual Yamaha YM-2612 and not some LSI that integrated it with other chips.

This made that particular newer Genesis compatible with certain games that would otherwise exhibit problems on other newer consoles that did not have more discrete chips, such as sound inaccuracies on "Tommy LaSorda's Baseball" to problems with popping noises, freezing, and crashing on "WWF Royal Rumble."

  • No the SNES could move them just as fast, and the sprite motion was smoother and more realistic. To compare, look at Cody in Final Fight compared to Axel in Streets of Rage. Axel looked like he was moonwalking, Cody walked more realistically, was bigger and could punch way faster. No, SNES Street Fighter II Turbo had up to ten stars, but you had to put in a code. Street Fighter II The New Challengers was the one that only went up to four stars, on SNES anyway. I have both games.

  • The NES one was the best, including the music.

  • Yeah, I think NES BattleToads was amazing with its 2-megabit MMC2 chip.Graphics and sound pushed NES to its limit. Developed by Rare who gave us Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day.But Battletoads and DDrag was an awesome game, great music, on SNES especially with 2-player sim. Rare forever

  • its the same story as any Genesis vs. SNES comparison: SNES has slightly sharper graphics with more colors but also slowdown and stiff control. SNES has music that sounds somewhat like real instruments and Genesis has a unique electro sound. Usually with initial impressions, the SNES looks better, but once you really start playing, the much faster Genesis processor lends to a better gameplay experience. The only games I can think of that were better on SNES are Mortal Kombat and T2 Arcade.

  • The SNES seemed as though it had a slow processor, but it had twice the internal memory and could do much more in one clock-cycle than Genesis.Internal memory is better indicator of power than processor power. The SNES was underpowered for the amount of info it had to display. But it had better sound, a custom 8-bit 8-channel sony soundchip. The Genesis had a 9-channel z80 with synth stereo.SNES St Fighter 2 Turbo was a way better game than Genesis version, try playing with 10 Turbo stars.

  • the SNES could handle bigger sprites, but couldn't move them as fast. So yeah, if you want to see a pretty picture you should play the SNES, but if you want "OMG WTF BBQ" amounts of action, you'll only get it on Genesis. The Genesis cranked out some amazing music when the sound programmer knew what they were doing, play midnight resistance, captain america, dynamite headdy, & gunstar heroes just to name a few. Only SF II SCE had 10 stars of Turbo, SF II Turbo had 4. Genesis was smoother too

  • of course NES version is the worst of them, cuz it's the most dated. Genesis/snes have equal graphics, though SNES has superior sound. I have no idea about gameplay cuz I'm not playing them...

  • I think Sega's version of Battletoads/Double Dragon was the best. The omission of the boss song in the SNES version is inexcusable. Plus the fact that Billy and Jimmy look like total wusses in that version.

  • snes and sega are neck in neck for the graphics in this game but in sound, snes takes it.

  • im sorry but SNES beats sega in quality since day 1 of its release. Better sound quality graphics and game play. Only thing that killed sega was Sega CD biggest failure with all those g crappy addons to the genesis.

  • Have you seen my wwf wrestlemania video about the platforms versions?

  • actually the 32x is what killed sega along with the 700 price tag of the sega saturn, which actually would have been an amazing machine if it wasn't so pricey. its graphics and cpu power blew the playstation and the n64 out of the water.

  • 1. Sega

    2. Snes/Nes (all the same to me)

  • You guys are really dumb. The SNES is the most superior. Genesis is NOT LASTs.. its WAY better than nes.

  • Super NES was the best

  • SNES has good sound. Sega Genesis has good graphics. NES is also good.

  • I always enjoyed the NES version of this game over the others. I'm not exactly sure why but it may have something to do with the NES graphics just looking better for both Jimmy and BIlly and the Toads.

  • SEGA

  • I say SNES for the clear sound quality and graphics, then the NES for the music and I beat and own this game!. sega better graphics but the sound quality sucks

  • SEGA

  • 1- SNES

    2- NES

    3- Genesis

  • People are always saying "well the SNES had better graphics and what not." The N64 had better graphics than the playstation, however Sony had 1000 better titles than Nintendo. Same goes with sega, there games were the best.

  • Tell you what, the NES one was the best.

  • Ödd,but I prefer the feel of the NES for most part.

  • Super Nintendo RulZ!! SucK SEGA!!... SNES Very good game Final Fantasy! after PS3 RulZ! kick ass Xbox/SEGA

  • 1 snes

    2 genesis

    3 nes

  • SNES FTW!!!!!!!

  • Nes has a cool retro feel, especially the bleepy sound.

SNES fans always malign the sega's sound and low colour pallette, but im my view the sega looks and sounds great.

  • sega has some cool games, but the SNES version of this just rocked, I'm getting alien soldier on the VC, cooleo!!!

  • SNES & NES were the best versions, SEGA sucked completely, NES had some pretty decent music and SFX, SNES had the best SFX of all platforms, SEGA gets negative reviews

  • Sega know how to make the beats thats for sure!

  • yeah, segas a good system... but sometimes the sound just made me wanna puke for some games, seriously, it sounds scratchy, all the time...

  • I preferred the Mega Drive/Genesis Version the most because of the better music and better sound effects. The one i liked the least is the SNES version. Sure it has the best graphics but the music is the worst of the one of the three.

  • Sure, I prefer Nes (Nes, Snes)company, but, here Sega's version disappointed me. Sure, good graphics, but the atmosphere of a beat'em up game seems disappeared on this version.

  • i like sega cause i accually got my hands on one. but i think it went 1-snes 2-sega 3-nes.

  • I aree with this one, but to tell you the truth, I would need to get more research myself. I only beat the Sega one.

  • However, I would've more than likely have been a toad.

  • COOL GAMEPLAY! Anyway i think i like the genesis a little more than the others though. I love the shining force games for it.
