Breeding "munchkin" kittens is awful. As a veterinary tech I've seen many of these cats and their health problems. They are being bred for their DEFORMITY. The short legs are not a "recessive gene" trait, they are a form of retardation. While I realize there are happy and healthy "munchkin" cats out there, I detest people that breed them for that purpose. It is nothing short of cruel when a litter of these kittens is born and some have such severe mouth deformities that they cannot nurse.

If you're gonna go on calling it a deformity and calling people who breed them 'cruel,' you might might as well say the same thing about people who breed basset hounds, dachshunds and welsh corgis, because it's a similar gene. And they're actually better off health-wise than these dogs since, because dogs' and cats' spines are different, they don't have spinal problems. Do you even know how many studies have been done on this cat?
