hmmmm. i dislike john mayer. except for his blues stuff... he took a sharp left turn into good shit for a year or so, and i was disappointed when he returned to pop crap. ah well...had to make his $ i guess.

but... this makes me at least somewhat respect him again. a little bit.

also, i wonder how many people that were at this show knew what "stash" was... i'd venture to say 5% or less. i mean if i was there, i woulda been like "hey, a stash tease, nice john, you're an alright brah, brah"

the John Mayer Band trio live album is one of the better live efforts. Mayer gets called out for being an assclown in the media sometimes, but he is a serious student of the blues. he's done his homework, he knows how to play. i love that he turns the Stash chorus into a blues riff.

I've had respect for John for a long while now. Been working retail for a year, and his songs tend to sound really good on the radio. Further, he thinks outside the box. His blues was criticized in L.A. by the press as an imitation of SRV, which is truly pitiful, since the blues is supposed to sound like that. JM is a great musician, and a decent human being to boot.
