Winter BowFishing for Pike

@907mountainman South Rolly wouldnt be a bad place, but Red Shirt lake (walk in from South Rolly) with a canoe has some great pike fishing out by the reed beds on the other side of the lake. Not sure about honeybee though, been years since I fished that lake.

Boys I am impressed. Several years ago Craig Medred (writer fro Alaska Magazine) wrote and article on me Bowfishing thru the ice. Bravo......I am the guy bowfishing and spearing pike in the ADFG Pike dvd. great job....John Godsey

So long as it's legal to bowfish in your area and you have the proper permits you can bowfish in any water with large enough targets.

But I've never done it myself; that's just what I've gathered from it so don't just take my word on it.

It's illegal to ice bowfish in michigan.. You can only take pike with a spear. That looks like a lot of fun tho, i'd love to try it

@bowtechbrando its because they are invasive to south central Alaska and have had a massive negitive impact on the local fish populations so they are doing what ever they can to try to kill them off down here. The fish and game ask people who catch them on accident NOT to put them back in the water because of the damage they are causing to the other fish populations.
