  • it's a website called find a grave ya'll can find the graves there.

  • for him to be such a big star he sure has a small tombstone!!!

  • In one of the stories I read about The Bopper being exhumed, they had a picture of the original coffin with him in it at the mortuary before he was buried. There was a guitar shaped wreath next to it, sent from Elvis, who was all the way in Germany in the Army at the time.

  • @MisterMasterShafter1 I've often wondered what Elvis's thought's were on the subject...Never really heard..

  • @TheFarmerfitz I'm sure he was saddened. He was in the Army when it happened, and I've never heard anybody ever asking him about it.

  • @MisterMasterShafter1 I read somewhere since that Elvis was very distraought when Buddy Died, and that he wired condolences to his family...

  • @TheFarmerfitz I figure he did something like that.

  • Big Bopper, you will live forever in the hearts and souls of your fans, past and present, living and dead. Keep making great music in heaven for those who are with you and those who will join you. RIP Big Bopper (1930-1959)

  • Thank you for sharing.

  • i thought the boppers body had to be reburied in another plot due to building being taken place, and thats why he had the autopsy done, and a chance to see his dads body,

it must be weird a guy whos in his 40's seeing his dad whos in his 20's it would be like looking at a younger person

  • why must so many people argue about this.. just READ and you'll see what happened. read some facts before making comments. google: big bopper exhumed

  • My Mom didn't like the Big Bopper. She was on a Pan Am flight one time And The Big Bopper along with Buddy Holly. And they ended up kicking the Big Bopper off the plane because he kept reaching up the flight attendants skirts as they passed him.

This was in the mid 50's when they wore skirts.

  • further more...their were rumors that he was shot and did not die in a plane crash but since everyone assumed he was creamated, his littel brother had him dug up to prove he was NOT shot and not cremated.

  • Ahem. It was his SON who had him exumed.

  • @shelleyk80LoveClub the state wanted to move the Bopper to a better location for the public to visit and for a life size statue of him. His son now had the opertunity to first off put rumors to rest but also see his father. They concluded that he died because of massive fractures and did not survive the crash and walk a short distance and then fall dead.

  • ...and they discovered that the ONLY bones in his body that weren't broken were in one hand. He had three skull fractures and a broken neck. :(

  • @brnleague99 All 3 guys suffered horrific injuries - skulls shattered open, literally every bone in their bodies broken and their faces mutilated beyond recognition. The coroner and investigators said it would have been impossible for anyone to survive that crash. So sad and tragic.....

  • the big bopper was creamated

  • @lopez99n , no he is not, 3 yrs ago his brother dug him up to prove he was no..and his bro said he was in rather good condition , crew cut and all and not cremated at all. google beaumont enterprise archive for the article @ how his bro dug him up to prove it. i know, i live here and read about and the media made a rather big deal about it.

  • @shelleyk80LoveClub it was his SON, not brother

  • @lopez99n NO.. read some facts before making comments. google: big bopper exhumed

  • @lopez99n read some facts before making comments. google: big bopper exhumed

  • how maney famous people musicians died in plane crashes?

  • Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Patsy Cline, Ottis Redding, Aliyah, Jim Reeves?

  • did ja like my video response?

  • Now I'm confused. When his son had him moved to Forrest Lawn, I thought he meant the Forrest Lawn in California. Will some one please straighten me out?

  • a small grave?

  • he had a cool voice

  • cool, i live in Beaumont, i always look at his grave when i go visit my loved ones at forest lawn. my grandmother use to tell me stories about how she knew him.

  • i even left a fun dance tribute to him its in the vid response above these comments

  • watch my video reply post...i live in bmt and i took pics of big bopper and babe who are both their in forest lawn

  • Is this in Port Arthur? .. my mothers home was ruined by hurricane Ike.. one of the construction workers, a young guy.... his great grandfather was the Big Boopers brother. I just thought it was an interesting story. RIP.

  • That is interesting. The Bopper is buried in Beaumont, Texas.

  • nope its in forest lawn in beaumont, my grandma knew him...i went the other day and took some pics thatll post soon on my channel

  • its in beaumont at forest lawn at east lucas and pine strett

  • no, beaumont, my great grandmother went to school with him her whole life

  • An argument could be made that The Big Bopper was the first rapper. "Chantilly Lace" is more of a rap than a song.

  • That is a good observation. In fact, the talking blues genre was doing it a little bit before.

  • have you all gone to Ritchie Valens's grave?

  • Yes, we have. Ritchies is buried in California. We have been to all four of the graves of the men who died in the plane crash including the pilot Roger Peterson.

  • what city in california?

  • Mission Hills, California in the San Fernando Mission Hlls Cemetery.

  • @death2ur I never went to this cemetery or the Westwood one the years I lived near LA.I saw the others tho.The actor that played Fred on I Love Lucy is buried here.

  • Hey please go back and re-shoot another video and get all of the plague in the shot so I can read it. Thanks.

  • Or you could go yourself.

  • For an entertainer like him he sure has a crappy looking grave site.

  • i sure would love to see his life made into a film. I have all his recordings, and he was both a great song writer and singer. If he had lived, he would have been VERY big, in managing /producing singers and records.

  • his life is being made into film ,it was supposed to be released to mark 50th years, but their still shooting it

  • Do you have any more details about the film? Who's going to play the Bopper? I hope it isn't his son.

  • I find it odd that they've made "The Buddy Holly Story," and "La Bamba," but they have yet to release a movie about the Big Bopper.

  • Also, there have been stamps for holly and valens, but none for the bopper. It's like he has been shoved to the curb.He was a great song writer, and would have become a HUGE music producer, as he was setting up a studio, and starting to recruit tallent.

  • There was a movie in the works but apparently the funding fell through so now it's on hold.

It does kind of bother me when people put a ton of emphasis on Buddy Holly, some on Ritchie Valens, then barely any on Big Bopper. But that's the way it goes, I guess.

  • Big Bopper 16 gage steel coffin is for sale on E-BAY, Bopper got a new coffin and a new home now..

  • I got to shakeJays hand the other night, and I held on as long as I could. Rest assured, Jay," Someone IS Watching Over You Tonight" And I am certain he is very proud of your performing in The Winter Dance Party Tour 50th Anniversary.

My condolences to you and your family.. His music is alive abd that keeps him alive in our hearts, God Bless you, and Thank you J.P.

  • Jr. had his dad exhumed about a week ago and autopsied...I guess....again. He died on impact. Nearly every bone in the poor man's body was broken. RIP Bopper.

  • It was kind of nice to see J.P ( the son ) at the exhumation of his dad. J.P never got the chance to see his dad ( J.P was born shortly after the crash occurred ). He finally got the chance to say goodbye to him.

  • forest lawn cemetary beaumont tx.

  • A Texas historical marker... Where is this?

  • This is in Beaumont, Texas.

  • Interesting. Thanks for replying so quick.

I've been flipping through your videos and I never realized how many famous gravesites are in Texas (I live in Denton, north of Dallas). Blues legends, Rock and Roll legends, Wrestling legends... and that's probably the tip of the iceberg.

    Keep up the good work.

  • You're welcome and thanks. Texas is loaded with famous graves. We've been there three times and still haven't been to all of them. If you ever visit some gaves, by chance, and take pictures, we'd love to take a took at them. If we put them on our site we'll give you credit. Thanks again.

  • Mary Martin is in Weatherford, Texas. I've not searched your postings to see if she is one of you Texas sites. If not, please go back to Texas and do more! Your work is fascinating!

  • We did not visit Mary. We could have easily spent a month in Texas, it is loaded with famous gravesites. We had also intended to go to Selina's grave, but ran out of time. When we make it back we will keep Mary in mind. Thanks for the comment!

  • @eljefereal Texas has produced many famous people is why we have so many historical gravesights.

Its such a shame these men died far to early

  • Garden or Tranquility is what the sign says

  • if anyone can,can you video the sign again so i can read it or if anyones really good with computers can u post what it says please thanx.

  • The sign is posted on our website.

  • Where is this gravesite situated?

I think I read somewhere that his entire body was all a big fracture. Horrible what happens in accidents. R.I.P And yes he is worth a statue.

  • The grave was moved from the front of the cemetery to the back and now has a "historical marker" sign. Yes, the victims of the crash had multiple fractures and internal injuries. His body was still in one piece and he was thrown sixty feet from the wreckage.

  • No doubt that they all died instantly. I can understand J.P. Richardson,jr. wanting closure in his life for the famous father he didn't get to meet by viewing his dad during the time they exhumed him to the time they reburied him. They removed him from his original casket and placed him in a new one.

  • last year his body was exhumed

  • Yes, and this is his new resting place. I have heard that they are going to erect a statue of him there.

  • It's Consider The First Rock & Roll Tragedy!

  • Last year, The Bopper's body was exhumed at his son's request. The Bopper's son had hired a prominent forensic pathologist to x-ray his late father's remains to determine to the extent of how his father died. Multiple fractures of his arms and legs were found. After the investigation, The Bopper and his wife were relocated to another part of the cemetery. The Bopper was put in a brand new casket.

  • Thanks for the info.

  • What conclusion did they find? What kind of internal injuries did he have, or did some of the passengers survive the crash, only to freeze to death in the snow? I always wondered about details in this particular crash. If you can share a website or report, that would be most appreciated and interesting.

  • He died instantly from the multiple fractures plus from being ejected from the plane as it broke up on impact. They all died instantly. They didn't survive the crash simply put. The pilot, Roger Peterson, was still wrapped up in the wreckage. Tommy Alsup,Buddy's lead guitar player, was first listed as one of the dead because he had given Buddy his I.D. to pick up his mail in the next town.

  • Great information, thanks.

  • Sort of a lonesome looking grave. I'd like to see him honored with something more.

  • Apparently they are going to do more with his site. They are going to add a statue of him and spruce it up a bit. We visited when they had just moved him.

  • R.I.P dude, it was sad how you died as you swapped place with my fav singer on that day "Waylon Jennings" :(
