  • I love it!

  • 2 people dont have rocks

  • If your in an area where there is large amounts of clay you can dig your hole and then line it with wet clay. once it dries its like the side of a pot. there will be no dirt in your hole to affect watever it is that your trying to boil. the clay walls also stop the dirt from absorbing the water. good video. has your piece of leather ever been affected by the boiling water

  • lol this is funny, chances are if you live ... anywhere in the world you will find a water bottle or some container before you find a random 1x1 patch of leather.. but it is a nice way to boil water if you are stranded with a leather couch or something...

  • @819726 Leather is the skin of animals, plenty of animals live out in the wilderness where you'd need these skills. You can also make bowls out of bark from trees, and plenty of other things.

  • @TheTrancePilot okay so if you find, kill and skin a cow without seeing a person first you can boil some water. great. idiot.

  • @819726 I have seen your channel, and I've realized who the idiot is.

  • @819726 your the idiot, you can get hides from different animals like deer too.

  • @cjoIIProductionz okay so if you manage to get a gun or some other way of successfully killing a deer with once again not seeing any people or any bottle or can or anything you can boil water. unreasonable.

  • @ superguyperson, yes wet rocks will explode but don't you think that maybe the hot fire would sterilize the rocks of any parasites or bacteria? The whole reason he's using them to boil water is to sterilize the water with the heat.

  • @korbanmckenzie and @TheArchZodiac

true, didnt realize that when i typed it, must have been late or something

  • that looks delicious

  • never use rocks from a river or stream, because 1, they can have paracites and bacteria, and two, they can explode or shatter from the heat.

  • @superguyperson You're retarded. The rocks are sterilized from the heat, if they're hot enough to make the water boil.

  • Loving your work, and a great idea @Johnjayrambo111, if push came to shove, this would help, I have couple of thoughts that may have been mentioned, I'd be careful of using that leather that may have been tanned/stained with unkown chemicals or some other man made chemically treated container, especially for drinking, '/thanks and keep up the good work/

  • bhahaha he said silly troll hahaha

  • i actuly melted a rock doin this once went to put in back in the water and is was like ooz

  • ok mate , so thats why native americans have been doing this for thousands of years ,you silly troll

  • This is how the First Nations people did their maple Syrup. But they hollowed out a big log like a canoe.

  • thank you

  • thats sweet but wouldent that though dubrie in after heating the rocks like that

  • just clean off the rocks, some will still come off but it wont hurt you just taste funny

  • charcoal -ee water is better than no water, or bacteria infested water. plus powdered charcoal is good for digestion haha thats true tho

  • Ooh, I watched Bear Grylls do this for the first time a couple days ago! Fascinating that you can boil without cookware, though I guess you still need something to get the rocks out...

  • bear grylls is a complete fake, you know that right?

  • I don't know about that, but I did do a little research a while ago and I don't watch his show anymore. Not only are many of the things he demonstrates very dangerous, but does it kind of seem like his knowledge of edible foods is really... limited?

  • totally

  • mkt användbart, keep up the good work!

  • thanks friend

  • you guy are preparing for 2012

  • What's the material that you put in the ground?

  • leather

  • I guess you have to "outweigh" the water with the hot rocks-otherwise the water will just cool the rocks, rather than the rocks boiling the water.

  • well you just keep circulating the rocks and it will eventually boil the water

  • This reminds me of something a friend showed me once, best steak I ever ate was cooked on a flat stone in some coals.

  • Also, you can filter water through a paper towle after sterilizing it.

  • you can also do this with a heavy canvas boonie hat or a corura boonie hat

  • thanks mate

  • but then now the water is dirty... isnt it???

  • it will look dirty but it is sterile ,you got to let the ash settle then scoop it off

  • dont ever use rocks that have always been below water level(under water forever). fun fact u can hardboil an egg by placeing it in a dixy wax/paper cup full of water and put it in the a fire(some cups work some dont)

  • whats the black stuff the water is in?

  • a piece of leather

  • ah ok. cool vid. I imagine what your neighbors thought when you were in there gardens eating there weeds lol..

  • thats probably why they don,t talk to me then lol

  • lmao
