The fence was already weakened, he broke through the area where the hole was. The outside of the door was wood but it had a steel brace and multiple sliding locks so that would prevent him from just ramming through.

One of my fav scenes from JP3. Very realistic looking, nearly pooped when I first saw that. On the fence/door issue, it was probably easier for Spino to take out the fence as it took a run up with its body, but he could only hit the door with its head as they are smaller. But that's just my theory.

But with the door, he could only use his head and if he would have tried to us his entire body, he probably would have tripped and fell, possibly injure himself...and the door isn't wooden... It is probably steel.

@XxTaEkWonD0xX The way I see it, Spinosaurus moved back a short distance and got a running start and was able to build up enough force to knock through a weak point in the fence. When he got up to the door (which was not made of wood, but metal. look more closely) he was probably just nudging it and gave up.

@XxTaEkWonD0xX the doors are not wooden. the iron fence doesn't have a barrier like the doors have. and the difference between the fence and the doors is that the fence is just one body, the door is actually two bodies, each one opens in a different direction and when they are blocked by a barrier or whatever it's called, it's hard to break the doors.

@flanagamer yeah it makes sense... the super thick wooden doors "if real" would of been lined with steel insides and whatever else. Those fences were decades old, they were weak and rusty and could easily be broken with enough body weight. But the doors are small and compact more strong. think of it like a small submarine window. its very small but very strong.

JP3 was full of suspense and action with ZERO storyline and abysmal acting by all except Sam Neil.

@1993morlj Listen, I love the JP series as a whole equally. The reason I've seen people for the most part hate on JPIII was because the Spino killed the Trex, and then they nit-pick everything else. JP has NEVER been realistic. A fun movie adventure that anyone can enjoy? Yes. The Spino breaking through the gate, but not the door makes about as much sense as the Trex breaking into the visitor center without making a sound in JP, or people actually tripping a Parasaur in TLW.

Well, with the Spino breaking down the fence and not the metal door is probably because the spino could put all of its body weight into breaking down the fence which was probably old and rusted anyways, it could only probably push the metal down with its snout, and in the first Jurassic Park, the T Rex enters through a tarp in the visiting center because the tarp wasn't completely finished.

@XxComablackxX1937 The characters were fine. Grant didn't change at all. More like Godzilla? How? The new raptors were SWEET I thought, much more true to a REAL raptor. No climax? How 'bout the family being reunited, or the raptors cornering the survivors, and being rescued from the island. The family moments are important the plot, and last a MAXIMUM of 1 minute each. Spino was new and fresh, they needed something new. Raptors don't talk. They VOCALIZE. Very realistic, actually.

@TranswarpXL 1. He probably shit himself with fear.  2. That fence was probably like 100 years old and rusted 3. The door was reinforced with steel crossbars and also the door was lower down and it was under something, so spino lost all his momentum and had to duck down and if you hadn't noticed, spino isn't good at headbutting things.
