Ive downloaded the 12 files + Daemon tools. But i dont have the Battle Tatics.iso + TA disc 1 & 2 + The Core Contingency. How did you get that? Do you have to do something to those 12 .rar files first before using Daemon tools?
Use your brains and look up what exactly a .rar file is.
It is a compressed archive, i.e. the .iso files inside and you need an extractor to get them (like WinRAR or 7zip) and there are 12 parts because of Rapidshits limitations.
Ergo, it is the .iso files you mount after extracting them.
Heyy :) I downloaded the files like you did, and DAEMON Tools also. I even have the little icon in the corner, but when I click on that its not picking up the Long line with the media thing.

Oh, the icon on my bar (2.30 on the video) is a blue and white circle and doesn't have the same commands as your one. When o open it up it looks completely different. Do you know why that is? It's the one i downloaded of your link. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

dam this is the most epic game ever but i have win 7 and i just needed to install the first TA cd after that the autorun opens when i wanna install cd 2 .. the tow other things cann cannot install too.. so i tryd to open TA but after i start it.. it crashed can u help me ? :(
This doesn't seem to be compatible with windows 7. I get an error when I try to run the Core Contingency and Battle Tactics. I'd really love to have this, but I've spent almost three hours trying to figure this all out and there seems to be some missing steps. Otherwise tyvm for the link and info.
But it wont work for me! When i open it, it says "You need the Administrator Privilegies to open this the first time". I HAVE administrator privilegies in that account! Please help! ;(
I'm pretty certain that TAUniverse's NoCD patch allows for playing music from CDs if they're inserted. You gotta make sure to turn it on in the Options menu AND make sure said ISO or disc is Drive D. If its any other drive it wont work.

I still have the complete ISO file of Total Annihiliation + Core Contingency + the latest patch and cracks, along with TAUCP mod on my external HD. This game in my opinion, is better than any other RTS game to date, even Starcraft 2, Red Alert 3, Supreme Commander or Empire Earth. I reinstall it every now and then to play. It's almost impossible to get bored with it due to the sheer number of units from mods (500+ on TAUCP).
@creamie123 I've been a long-time starcraft player ever since starcraft 1 and i'm diggin starcraft 2, however, I do like TA a lot. I got into RTS's with starcraft, and I just don't think that I'm brilliant enough to completely learn another RTS with its respective expansions haha. but yeah, it's a great game.
@DarkestJade I have played Starcraft 1 and 2 as well, and upon making comparisons with TA, I think that the short way to put it is this: Starcraft is more focused on smaller skirmishes and battles, but TA on absolute and total war. Starcraft is more on tactics, while TA is more about strategy. Starcraft is about balance and expertize with regards to a handful of units, while TA is about depth, breadth and sheer firepower when it comes to using hundreds of units. Each has its own genre.
@creamie123 It's like in SC, you have Archons who are good against biologicals, Marauders against armored, Air units against Massive, but in TA, it's much more fuzzy with no distinction: Indirect VTOL missiles being good against direct fire units in hilly regions, while vice versa in plains, long range units good against short, but are nullified by stealth or aircraft, Tier 3 being good at everything, but cannot go through water etc. It's more situational in TA.
@creamie123 But in the end, both games have their own flavors, Starcraft is more fast-paced and involves mastery of the usage of the right combination of units while having a limited resource pool, while TA is about the "sheer joy and utter enjoyment of destruction" as thousands of units clash in the front-line while being sustained by a perpetual source of economy. TA does have a "scissors-paper-stone" concept like in Starcraft too, but it is more physics based.

I downloaded the 12 Files, I've watched the Vid several times, it seems the Daemon Tools Lite you have is out dated and the new one does not have the options stated in the video meaning I can't bring anything up what so ever. Help? I am basically stuck at only having all the files and Daemon downloaded.
Ok, now the problems start. I can't seem to get DAEMON Tools to find anything I downloaded, and I downloaded it into a folder on my desktop. All the files won't show up (as it's looking for images but they're windows media player files?) and I just have no idea what to do. How can I get it to find the iso's?

@betterchests You have to locate the files on your computer. See, I downloaded the 12 files to my desktop and put them in a folder, which is also on my desktop. When everything is downloaded, the 12 files come up as 4 .iso files and an Extras folder when you look in the folder where you have them downloaded and you have the folder containing the 12 files open using DAEMON Tools. 4:16 and on contains the steps regarding what order to open each file (Using DAEMON Tools).
I have downloaded all 12 links and I have downloaded Daemon Tools Lite. When I open Daemon Tools and hover over Virtual Devices, I can only see two empty folders. I ave no idea where to find the 5 files you have on your video. I know exactly where I download the 12 links, so I don't know what the problem is.

Hey, sorry; I've been really busy the past few days and haven't really had too much time to reply, but just watch the video over - everything is in there.
Go to the website, in video info. On the page, 12 links come up. copy+paste the top link out of the 12 into your web browser. Download the file. Do what the website asks of you, because you might have to wait a few seconds before the download starts (Rapidshare). Copy + paste each link one-by-one until you've downloaded 12.
You then download DAEMON Tools (Link is in video info), and follow the instructions the video gives on how to open the Total Annihilation files using DAEMON Tools. The TA files that you will see downloaded come up as .ISO files, which can't be executed without a special program that supports the file's format. DAEMON Tools supports it. Just watch 2:22 of the video to the end after you've downloaded all 12 files and you have DAEMON Tools downloaded.
I have no idea where you can put the music files, but if the actual purchased Disc 2 happens to have the game music on it instead of the original purchased Disc 1, you should be able to hear the game music in all of the game modes that require using Disc 2
Hey man, downloaded all the links on your information tab ---> BUT the DAEMON program wont open the file. I click the "virtual devices" button, then nothing comes up. The link you have is also DAEMON Lite, I dont know if thats the problem, but its very frustrating.
Ah I know what the problem is. You're clicking on the virtual devices option. All you have to do is hover over it with your cursor, then an extra box will come out the side. You then hover over the new box, then out of the side of the new box, another box will pop up. On the new box, the Mount Image option will appear. Click on Mount Image. Try that, and tell me if it worked.
I hover over "Virtual Devices" and it has 2 empty drives. Then if I directly click on one of those files, like TA,etcetc,rar it says: "Unable to mount Image. Unable to access image file" its getting really annoying, the download took over 5 hours now after all the waiting it doesnt even work.
Are you only selecting one TA image file? Or are you shift + clicking all of them at once to have them all selected? You're only supposed to be running Disc 1 the first time you do it. That's how it installs.
Find out where you downloaded your files. Go into DAEMON Tools and look for it within the DAEMON Tools window. So do all the steps I put in the video, but then for Disc 1 and Disc 2, look where in where you downloaded it. If you completely downloaded all of the links, you should be able to find it somewhere.
i love total annhilation been searching for years for a chance to play i i had a new pc years ago and only now did i succesfully download it can you tell me how to get new units is that possible
I'm not sure what you're referring to in terms of getting new units (It's impossible to do that based on my knowledge), but if you happen to know that it does exist and extra units are part of a patch or something, be sure to check in the Extras folder. The Extras folder contains patches so check there.
I was about to download this then the no music thing upset me... It had some epic music if i remembered playing it.

HOWEVER
They is an UPDATED game called "Supreme Commander" Made from the same company as Total Annihilation. This game is IDENTICAL to Total Annihilation. But requires a GOOD graphic card. Good game too. Same as T.A.
Correct, however, Total Annihilation is much harder to find, requires practically no video card what so ever, and is viewed as the original foundation of Supreme Commander. This is the real stuff.
I've never played Supreme Commander, but from what I can assume, it's Total Annihilation beefed up with modern-day video game graphics, and a few aspects of it might have been changed.
However, I'm positive many people still want Total Annihilation, considering how hard it is to find nowadays.
@DarkestJade Yeah, Supreme Commander is just like Total Annihilation, just a bit better as there are more units, the fights are more intense etc. Doesn't mean the original Total Annihilation isn't kick ass though!
To be honest, I'm not completely sure. I originally had some other music on here, but Youtube's WMG protection took it off, so I chose this one. All I remember is that the name of the song is The Queen Bee.
Yes, online mode is contained in Total Annihilation disc 1, or disc 2. I currently forget which one online mode is in, but if I were you, I'd just open up DAEMON Tools, open Disc 1, (I'm not currently on the computer with TA on it right now) then click Multiplayer or whatever the online button name is, and if it's the correct disc, it will simply let you proceed. If it's not Disc 1 and it's Disc 2, it will say so. If that's the case, exit game, open up DAEMON Tools, and start up Disc 2.

I believe so. Keep looking and I think you'll find it. By the way, note that Total Annihilation online is pretty much completely deserted. I'd say absolutely nobody plays online anymore. If you have a friend that has it though, it would definitively be fun to hook up. Enjoy
When you're on the website, open up one new tab. Now select the first link (which is one line), and copy + paste it into the URL address for the new tab. It will then bring you to the Rapidshare website which is where you wait on the download timer, then click download to start downloading those particular files. Download the content from each link, one by one until all you've downloaded the content from all 12. When that's done, follow the rest of the video's instructions. Have fun.

@Scimbolic it will still work, daemon tools lite classified the files as images but when you click on disc 1, it continues to do it's thing properly.

I have downloaded all 12 files and deamon tools, but my 12 files dont come up as .iso and when i right click the little deamon tools icon it doesnt come up with what you have. I have deamon tools lite if that helps

@betterchests You have to locate the files on your computer. See, I downloaded the 12 files to my desktop and put them in a folder, which is also on my desktop. When everything is downloaded, the 12 files come up as 4 .iso files and an Extras folder when you look in the folder where you have them downloaded and you have the folder containing the 12 files open using DAEMON Tools. 4:16 and on contains the steps regarding what order to open each file (Using DAEMON Tools).

I have downloaded all 12 links and I have downloaded Daemon Tools Lite. When I open Daemon Tools and hover over Virtual Devices, I can only see two empty folders. I ave no idea where to find the 5 files you have on your video. I know exactly where I download the 12 links, so I don't know what the problem is.

@Paintgonzo1 @Paintgonzo1 You can download music from TA as MP3 then burn them on a CD as CD AUDIO.These MP3's are available as torrent (at least two torrents i have found) or on Rapidshare IIRC.Just google them,burn & enjoy!

Hey, sorry; I've been really busy the past few days and haven't really had too much time to reply, but just watch the video over - everything is in there.
Go to the website, in video info. On the page, 12 links come up. copy+paste the top link out of the 12 into your web browser. Download the file. Do what the website asks of you, because you might have to wait a few seconds before the download starts (Rapidshare). Copy + paste each link one-by-one until you've downloaded 12.

You then download DAEMON Tools (Link is in video info), and follow the instructions the video gives on how to open the Total Annihilation files using DAEMON Tools. The TA files that you will see downloaded come up as .ISO files, which can't be executed without a special program that supports the file's format. DAEMON Tools supports it. Just watch 2:22 of the video to the end after you've downloaded all 12 files and you have DAEMON Tools downloaded.

Hi, I have disc 2 of TA (I've lost disc 1) and disc 2 has the music files on it. Do you know where I can put the files for them to work ?

I have no idea where you can put the music files, but if the actual purchased Disc 2 happens to have the game music on it instead of the original purchased Disc 1, you should be able to hear the game music in all of the game modes that require using Disc 2

Hey man, downloaded all the links on your information tab ---> BUT the DAEMON program wont open the file. I click the "virtual devices" button, then nothing comes up. The link you have is also DAEMON Lite, I dont know if thats the problem, but its very frustrating.

Ah I know what the problem is. You're clicking on the virtual devices option. All you have to do is hover over it with your cursor, then an extra box will come out the side. You then hover over the new box, then out of the side of the new box, another box will pop up. On the new box, the Mount Image option will appear. Click on Mount Image. Try that, and tell me if it worked.

I did that, it doesnt bring up the 5 files I need, it throws me into "My documents" instead. Also, theres no image (download).

I hover over "Virtual Devices" and it has 2 empty drives. Then if I directly click on one of those files, like TA,etcetc,rar it says: "Unable to mount Image. Unable to access image file" its getting really annoying, the download took over 5 hours now after all the waiting it doesnt even work.

Are you only selecting one TA image file? Or are you shift + clicking all of them at once to have them all selected? You're only supposed to be running Disc 1 the first time you do it. That's how it installs.

Yeah, it's ok to have it on your computer.
Find out where you downloaded your files. Go into DAEMON Tools and look for it within the DAEMON Tools window. So do all the steps I put in the video, but then for Disc 1 and Disc 2, look where in where you downloaded it. If you completely downloaded all of the links, you should be able to find it somewhere.

I'm not sure what you're referring to in terms of getting new units (It's impossible to do that based on my knowledge), but if you happen to know that it does exist and extra units are part of a patch or something, be sure to check in the Extras folder. The Extras folder contains patches so check there.

I was about to download this then the no music thing upset me... It had some epic music if i remembered playing it.
In the video descriptiong, What DarkestJade said is true. They dont sell it in Gamestop or whatever.
HOWEVER
They is an UPDATED game called "Supreme Commander" Made from the same company as Total Annihilation. This game is IDENTICAL to Total Annihilation. But requires a GOOD graphic card. Good game too. Same as T.A.

Correct, however, Total Annihilation is much harder to find, requires practically no video card what so ever, and is viewed as the original foundation of Supreme Commander. This is the real stuff.
I've never played Supreme Commander, but from what I can assume, it's Total Annihilation beefed up with modern-day video game graphics, and a few aspects of it might have been changed.
However, I'm positive many people still want Total Annihilation, considering how hard it is to find nowadays.

@DarkestJade Yeah, Supreme Commander is just like Total Annihilation, just a bit better as there are more units, the fights are more intense etc. Doesn't mean the original Total Annihilation isn't kick ass though!

Yes, online mode is contained in Total Annihilation disc 1, or disc 2. I currently forget which one online mode is in, but if I were you, I'd just open up DAEMON Tools, open Disc 1, (I'm not currently on the computer with TA on it right now) then click Multiplayer or whatever the online button name is, and if it's the correct disc, it will simply let you proceed. If it's not Disc 1 and it's Disc 2, it will say so. If that's the case, exit game, open up DAEMON Tools, and start up Disc 2.

I believe so. Keep looking and I think you'll find it. By the way, note that Total Annihilation online is pretty much completely deserted. I'd say absolutely nobody plays online anymore. If you have a friend that has it though, it would definitively be fun to hook up. Enjoy

When you're on the website, open up one new tab. Now select the first link (which is one line), and copy + paste it into the URL address for the new tab. It will then bring you to the Rapidshare website which is where you wait on the download timer, then click download to start downloading those particular files. Download the content from each link, one by one until all you've downloaded the content from all 12. When that's done, follow the rest of the video's instructions. Have fun.

Yeah, that's the problem that I forgot to put in the video description, I just added it after reading your comment.
I'm not sure why this crack doesn't have the music files, and I'm not sure of how to get them and put them in the right places. Sorry, for now, just Youtube the TA music and listen as you play; people have uploaded everything up onto Youtube xd.
