That's how you get the huge disparity in defense spending (because the population & size of economy has such a huge disparity).

What about all the undisclosed spending that some countries have? I'm sure that even if it was disclosed it would still not reach the UK or USA spending but military spending does not indicate the size of an army.
Of course The USA has the biggest spending because it has the biggest amount of research budget for weaponry. USA insist on having the best and this means upgrading tanks/troops, having a BK in the middle of Iraq on camp etc! All of this adds up!

If we only had to account for own defense, we might spend far less(I doubt it). If we didn't have a runaway progressive tax code, the government might not have all that money to sink into defense. Heck, maybe all that money, left in private hands, would be put to use creating jobs here AND in other nations, improving the global economy and mitigating the causes of some of that warfare.

What doesn't make sense here is that people in America voted in the Senators and Reps who supported the military and the biggest campaign ads out there are ones bashing the other candidate for not caring about the troops or spending on the troops. So, the American people who love guns vote people in who also love guns. That's not much a surprise, and I don't really care either way. Just saying, this video is kinda useless.

Yup it is about half of the worlds military expenditure at 45%, and it still only 4% of are GDP. Most of that is Operations and maintenance $152.2 Bil,Military Personnel $110.8 Bil, Procurement $84.2 Bil,Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation $73.2 Bil.

U.S. spends 4% of GDP on defense, UK 2.5%, and China 4.3%. Doing the math, 4% of $13 trillion (US GDP) is $520 billion while 2.5% of $2.7 trillion (UK gdp) is $67.5 billion. That's how you get the huge disparity in defense spending (because the population & size of economy has such a huge disparity).

The amount that the US spends on the military has nothing to do with the decision to help that mans family lmao.
The problem is when the US has hundreds of thousands of soldiers in many, many countries all around the world. Why the shit are American soldiers in Germany, Japan? What a waste of money. Bin Laden's in Pakistan according to the CIA, which is why we're in Iraq and Obama's going to send us into Afghanistan. Makes perfect sense to me. What a fucked up country.

China has the largest military force (people wise) on Earth at 2.3 million people. But they have foot soldiers and not much else, small Navy, small nuclear arsenal, etc. We are still top dog, but without a massive increase in military size I don't think we will be for long. We need a military of 10 million at least.

No kidding, someone's family was saved by US military intervention. We tried negotiating with Hitler and making peace treaties back in the day and he laughed as he shredded them and invaded Europe. Who was it that crushed the Nazi regime? Oh yeah, that would be the gun-toting US of A. They didn't even invade our country, but it was still a "just" war. Open your mind and look at the big picture.
