Your not born with all your speed, wtf? I was slow as hell 2 years ago with a 5.13 40 yd now i run a 10.93 100m. There's many training exercises that will make you fast.
what kind of training reflexes? im a a freshman in in highschool and i run the 400 and the 200, all ive been doing latly latly is endurance for my 400 but i need to get some speed work in, any ideas?
For enurance for the 400m u need to run fast 300m-200m back to back distance endurance doesnt equal speed endurance first of all. Speed workouts include running DOWN hills to train quick twitch fibers and in the weight room train ur hips with power cleans deadlifts and squats. thats just a few excercises
alright thanks, cuz yeah ive been doing distance endurance and ive been feeling my sprinting speed kinda drain so i want to get some speedwork in quick. Thanks again
@Mattu190 there is a genetic component to speed, like you can get to late 10's with ok genetics, but if you run track you should know that to hit mid 10's or even 10.7-10.8 hard work just ain't gonna cut it unless you have certain genetics
i'm not saying you can't improve your speed with hard work, you definitely can, but the max strength your hip flexors, abs, and legs can dish out is ultimately determined by genetics.
by supporting the beijing olympics, adidas & maurice greene are endorsing genocide against darfur, tibet & east turkestan. greene is bringing shame upon america. please, watch the genocide olympics videos.
a great relay team to watch wudd of been galtin, asafa, tyson gay and maurice greene, with good exchanges that race wud be very fast, cud even get below 37.40s.

maurice greene shall remain the greatest of all time, regardless if he doesnt own the world record. In his lengthy career he has had the most 100m races under 10 seconds, making him also the most consistent sprinter of all time. 10 gold medals, 1 silver, one bronze, stop hatin cuz u aint him.
Let the love of track & field be for the pure determination and mental challenge; it's a shame that we have to question the physical aspects of our great Olympians today. As a runner for many years, and now a coach, I hope our young athletes do not aspire greatness through enhanced physical attributes.
greene isn the best, he was good, but asafa is the greatest or maybe sharing that title with michael johnson, and.. about donovan bailey, he had the strenght to run under 9.80 easily, even 9.7x low, a quick start (his weakness) can be learned with practice, but i cant say too much cuz ive only seen him in 2 races.
Too bad for Maurice Greene that the BALCO scandal happened. Once they started testing for THG, and the Clear Greene's performance on the track took a nose dive.
SMH Maurice Greene has never been involved in that whole Balco scandal. Whether you like him or not...Maurice Greene is arguably the best sprinter of all time.
Only because he got injured. He ran the same exact time in the 100 at Sydney(9.87- before BALCO) than he did at Athens(after BALCO). Sydney got him gold, but Athens got him bronze. So if anything it was the other athletes who juiced, not him. (Gatlin comes to mind.)
rynell parsons actually got down to a 9.77 but wind aided and hand timed... and his coach timed him at like a 9.55... so those obviously arent accurate times... at state, rynell got like a 10.32 or something and thats an accurate time
thats incorrect...the nations fastest official time this year is 10.26 by maurice mitchell and 20.96 by leonardo seymore so you need to check your facts on those times
jamaica has a great sprinting program but you have to know the U.S. has the greatest sprints in the world and will always produce world leaders in track and field...watch out in a few years for a sophmore in highschool right now named rynell parson who runs 10.3 in the 100 and 21.2 in the 200 (thats a 15 year old by the way)
I don't know about Rynell Parson but I do know that Yohan Blake broke Raymond stewart's record wich was 10.19. Yohan ran a 10.11 and that I know is official.
You would also be incorrect...the all time HS outdoor 100m time is 10.13 Derrick Florence of Texas and if we were talking international junior than that time is .05 off of the record held by Dwain Chambers
anyone else notice how big asafa powells dick is at 2:35?

xxxlady77 3 years ago 6
yeah being fast is mostly genectic.
meaning that those are fast were born (and gifted) with more fast twitch muscle fibers than a regular person.
steriods may influence performance ever so slightly.
but they will not help as much as you think.
try giving a slow person all the steroids in the world....they wont be fast.
