  • is that bike a single speed? :O

  • I hit 40 two days ago

  • Not a giant OCR3 whatever will I do with myself now, all is lost all is lost all is lost I say, it cant be a fair competition. Fucking moron

  • Top speed I maxed on downhill with MTB was 81kmph!

  • Add a wheelie for extra cool factor

  • Noobs, try 135mph 1 minute sprints, now that's a workout!!

  • i got 25 on a walmart mountain bike, plus im out of shape... does that count for anything?

  • my friend got 35 mph lmfao

  • Ive been able to hit 32mph with bad wind, and hot phoenix AZ weather in my sekai 1980's road bike...and Im only 18 and a new guy in the sport and yet I can keep up with the big boys. my goal is to hit high 30's but we are in monsoon season now so it's way too windy....other thing is my sekai isn't even carbon fiber and yet I get it up to those speeds. I cant wait to get a carbon fiber one and I know where I can get a good one for only 500 dollars.

  • @titogcubangonzalez you cant get a good carbon frame for 500. either get a nice aluminum one or save up more money and wait till you can get a half way decent carbon fiber frame.

  • @austify you are right sir, it will be hard to find a carbon fiber road bike for that money although Ive seen in the local bike shops, one guy gets a few ones once in a while and he sellls them for around 600 bucks. but true all I really need is the frame I can get that one for 500 on ebay.

  • @titogcubangonzalez go for it. make sure to get your measurements down and get the right size frame too! that will make a huge difference in the way you enjoy your ride

  • @austify true it will.... Just yesterday I had a really big accident, I was going down a trail with another rider.. it was a curve/down hill and I leaned in the turn and tried to avoid a rock so I wouldnt run over it , this caused me to lose control of the road bike sending me down a rocky ditch going about 26mph.... the impact was intense, I am ok but shouldnt be.

  • Im 16, get my first road bike in a week, its a scott speedster s40, hopefully once I get a computor I can hit top 20s maybe 30 mphs, I am rower so I think I have the leg power.

  • @donkiko3000 expect those speeds yeah.

  • Why so many dislikes? 31mph is a decent sprint. Start barbell squatting and it should improve. lol at all the e stats, yes we are all professional cyclists

  • 45 mph on a velodrome with a 86 inch gear on (48 teeth on front 15 on the back) its fixed gear too so no brakes and you cant stop pedaling. Thats my average i have hit 50+ on the road. NO assistance what so ever.

  • @Dabones3232 50+ with no assistance? hahahaha not even a bit downhill? you should go pro then hahahahha

  • @austify I am on a small team that pays me. And now ive broken my record on the velodrome to 53mph on a 92 inch gear. And i have been making a name for myself at track racing, last week i beat two sprinters from poland for a $150 preme. Im only 16 and weigh 145 pounds and im sprinting against 200 pound guys.

  • @Dabones3232 in 2008 theo bos set a world record for the flying 200 on the track, it has since been broken but not by much and the top speeds are roughly the same. about 49 mph peak and 46 mph average. are you saying you are 4 miles per hour faster than the world record holder? also mark cavendish says his fastest ever sprint on flat ground is about 50 mph. so are you saying you are the fastest track sprinter and road sprinter? i doubt it.

  • @austify All depends on the track slope, im not saying that i am faster than two great racers. not at all. Maybe my all out sprint on the road had a slight downhill slope or tailwind, i forget since it was in south carolina. And the track was at forest city canada which is a very steep slope, it was 138 meters i think, and i was fooling around and did an all out sprint into a dive bomb which is not what your supposed to do and i hit 53 for a second or so. Sorry maybe i had my comp set to kph idk

  • Ah man, I just looked this up cause i managed 34.8 MPh yesterday on my SL2. Had on my basketball shoes, no lycra shorts or jersey to speak of, basic basket ball atire and a backpack. I let off the hammer only when I felt I would lose my footing on the pedals and crash. Awesome vid.

  • 47 mph down Mt Lemmon Arizona - no draft

35 mph average the whole 20 miles down

55 mph with vehicle draft. but can only hold it for a short while as the speed limit is 20- 35 mph so cars and trucks can't safely hold that speed to break the wind for you.

    awesome mountain though.

  • @Mrihasit Mt lemon !!!! Thats what u can call a fkn huge mountain ive been there 2 weeks ago and i went down at 85 Km/h !!!! It was epic stuff :)

  • I have hit 38mph on a dual carriage way on a MTB with semi-knobblies (very slight down grade), there was quite a strong tail wind and it was quite an effort going over 10 in the opposite direction. I was starting to run out of gears at that speed.

I can just about peg 30 in tight fitting clothes on the flat with still wind on a Giant Yukon MTB with slick tyres in a 44/13 or 44/11 - double the speed limit at my University. Sustained level road speed is probably in the upper teens.

  • My max speed sprinting flat was 38 mph, then sped up to 45 mph going down hill.

  • i can get 34mph on the flat on my carbon giant tcr ,went out on our shops 13lb stork demo bike got 36mph! 6k£ priced bike tho!

  • WILL DO :)

  • watch this! watch this! watch this! watch this! watch this! watch this! watch this!'' CERVELO TOMAHAWK sprint test! part 1 (MUST SEE!!!) ''

  • my top was probably 32mph but i don't have much long stretches around where i live..it's mostly hills and uneven terrain with a fair amount of wind

  • did 30.5 in my new tri bike in gym shoes today, can't wait till I get my pedals installed!! This is a good workout, will be doing some more of these intervals tomorrow.

  • well from a dead stop i can reach 32mph, but while riding on a pack and coming out form a draft i have done ~42mph.

  • i have reached 65.3km/h

with my mountain bike when i was doing downhill in the mounatin of imittos in Greece.

the experience was great but for a second i thought that it will cut in the middle. :P

    great video!

i hope you reach more as soon as possible! :)

  • why you dont put smaller whells to go faster????

  • holy shit youre really laying it down out there

  • 16 yrs old, hit 36.5 with junior gearing.

  • My goal is to hit 60mph im 14 years old and i sprinted 31.9mph in my bikeing hoping when i turn 28 i can dublee that speed maby triple

  • @mtvprankes There's no way you can hit 60mph on level road still wind no car to block the air. Wind resistance increases cubically and you'd be fighting a hurrincane. Stick your hand out of a car window next time you're doing 60. That's the type of wind you'd have to overcome. If you have a 1 minute power of over 4000 watts (about 10 cyclists) then I'll take your word for it.

Tour De France racers have hit 60mph down hill though, good luck and wear a helmet :)

  • I've hit 38 point something, looking forward to the 40s soon.

  • 36.6 mp-h/59,8 km-h is my record, 60 km-h is my goal

  • I've done 32mph on my fixed gear, 48/17 ratio, but I wasn't happy about it. I was pedaling my ass off, LOL...

  • My max speed in flat terrain with mountain bike is 54km/h

  • Hey im 13 years old i love biking but i dont have a road bike but i sprinted up to 31mph not downhill or up can some one tell me what i can do if i keep traing?

  • i can hit 28 on my mountain bike. it has offroad tires on it too. its not even a road bike

  • if you buy one of those carbon disc wheels you'il go much faster and have less drag,

    i guess you'il do 30MPH easy !

  • for me i can do 28 mph im only 13 if u dont belive me then fine but i did mine with a mountain bike

  • 31mph lmao, I can do more than that on an MTB with knobblies on hahaha

  • From full stop to 40 mph on a flat with a camera hanging out of a backpack huh? Give me more runway and less drag I'm right with you. The idea is, its a workout. 1200 ft sprint full stop to max, 8 times not a bragging contest.

  • yea lame, i do 40mph on the regular on my fixed gear 153 rpms

  • @nicolelaramee amazing speed, world class sprint you have there. Are you racing with it? If not, you should try. You could at least pick up a few bucks for tubes.

  • had a few attempts at a similar sprint on my bike today and i went 48.6km/h (30mph). DAMN - so close!!!

  • Keep trying, shoot for 35MPH, that 30.5 was with a camera and backpack adding drag.
