Does anyone know what happened with praying Mantis I saw them walking around chinatown with there equipment not playing. I asked Sifu Norman he said they got into something with Goldn Lions
I have a friend who has been studying Lung Ying for quite some time. We touch hands every so often. There are many similarities in the Hakka hand, but also distinct differences which make them each unique!
excellent quality jook lum.. which staff form is that? the circles are ridiculous love the short power and the 3 hit in the sam bo.. you guys are lucky to have such a tightly knit community of practitioners with obvious dedication and integrity I am jealous nice vid
The staff form is the 7 1/2 point staff form. It is a breakdown from the poison Snake. Where this staff ends is where the first of two poison Snake Staff Set starts.
We are very lucky to be learning this art, and to have such a dedicated and skilled Sifu.
Awesome video! Now THIS is real gung-fu! Nice performance by all. I have seen allot of SPM, but I have never seen anyone move like the last guy; who I assume is the Sifu? SHiT! He's fast. Physically a man of his size should not move that fast, it does not compute! That is the first mantis form I have seen that REALLY looks like a praying mantis! COOL! Can anyone tell me what form that is? Who did this Sifu study under? What lineage?
Really nice video - great form and overall spirit, especially to the first solo performer. Hopefully, I'll get to see you guys next Chinese New Year. Judging by the demonstration, your lion dancing show must be as amazing. hehe - good thing there's a video of that, too =)
damnit! I think I missed you guys by a few hours. It would have been cool to meet you guys. I was in NYC Chinatown that day and saw the hung gar demo. Greetings from a jook lum practitioner from MN under Sifu Gin Foon Mark.
wow, this really brings back memories of the old school chinatown days as well as traditional chinese new year celebrations. i love how the drum beats are going with the kung fu. this is awesome! it's great to see a mixture of non-asians, asians, and even females perform together. this is what a community-leader group is all about. i love how the bond these members have are so visible through smiles, laughters, and chants. the respect they have for each other is unqiue. congrats to hung ching!

Try going against a Lung Ying master, thats the style I study, very similiar principles in all the Hakka systems.
