I also forgot to say in the video that I'm using ceramic maintainable bearings. They cost a wee bit more but last a lot longer too. They have pop off covers to clean and lube. Ceramics bearings don't heat up and warp like metal ones.
Hey nice mods! I have the blue Xsjado Stockwell 3's. I think I'm going to take off the top straps & put on a regular buckle like you did. I found the straps went nice & tight but there was still a lot of flex. I prefer more support. It's good to see people in they're 30's still skating. I turned 30 two months & have started skating again after a 13 year break. Best decision I've made in a long time. Peace. PS...I'll probably drill those speed holes too!
@truesouljs Glad you like the mods and might give some a try. Those blue Xsjado Stockwell's are very cool. I heard the high top shoe has lots of support. I haven't tryed that foot-wrap yet. I noticed there are there are a couple top cuff replacement variations too. I think razors has a blue matching buckle strap and receptor thingy that would work nicely on your skates. Very cool that your skating again! I'm loving it.
@neokregon2009 Hi. Yes the high top shoe has lots of support. So much that at 1st I thought they didn't fit, even though I got them a half size bigger that my regular shoes. Now they're broken in nicely & feel great. I saw a guy here on youtube review the stockwell 3's & the basic Xsjado's & says the high tops don't fit in any other Xsjado skates which kind of sucks cos you can't try them on someone else's Xsjados. Thanks for telling me about the blue razors buckle. I'll probably get it. Peace.
